One of the worst aspects of American music culture is this weird insistence on musical purity. Crossover artists are looked down on and told basically 'stay in your lane'. I love BTS because they merrily smash all genres together and come up with something uniquely theirs.

This is before the BU. No more dreams is part of their first album 2 Cool 4 Skool and it was their debut song. Their live performance was amazing they were all so young. One day is from their 3rd album Skool Luv Affair. It is a beautiful song and it brings back lots of memories. This was the first album I heard from them, and then my journey started as an Army all the way back in 2014 and I am still here.
One day is just about love, the entire album is about the teenage urge to love like high school love. Really catchy this is one of the songs that will be stuck in your head and then out of the blue, you will burst and start signing 하루만 너와 내가 함께할 수 있다면 (the romanize way if you prefer, Haruman neowa naega hamkkehal su itdamyeon) ♫♫♫

-You should also keep in mind what the album is about. Almost all their albums tell a story. For this album they are talking about teenage young love and school life
-Their albums literally grew up with the boys. So, the first three were about school life then it was about temptations, growing up. etc.
No more dream is their debut track (Jun 2013), so before AMH (American hustle life, 2014, they were there for a couple of weeks around July 4th (they went to the fireworks), recorded an album in a garage, got pretty cruelly insulted by Coolio, and learned a lot, it seems that it really helped Jin with his life view of chilling out) 😊the BU starts with I Need You, 2015.
It's perfectly fine to absorb some songs as love songs. After dark and wild their lyrics are more addressed to each other, army, or haters but before then, girls, heck ya lol. Try Boy in Luv, omg lololol 💜💜💜
So the seating arrangement from one day is what you see at the beginning of yet to come. From no more dream you get the school bus.

Hey John, a fun little tidbit for Just One Day, Suga wrote the song in the hospital while recuperating from appendectomy 😁 it's such a fun and catchy song..when Armys are asked if they know korean, we proceed to sing the Just one day chorus as if native speakers, that's how catchy it is 😅😅😅
Also, for the School albums trilogy, other that talking about school as an institution, that's where you get to hear more BTS lover songs..because what do teenage boys and girls think about most of the time but romance 😅😅😅
I don’t think there is any hidden meaning to Just One Day. This was very early on in their career, before the BU was created, and their target demographic was still teen girls. So of course their label wanted cute love songs. As they got older and were given more creative freedom they sang less and less about girls and romantic love. But their early albums had many innocent love songs.
I don't think it's fair to say "the label wanted it" because we don't know. They were young guys so of course relationships and love would be a topic. They've always had creative freedom in their music from the beginning (who releases a song talking against the school system as their 1st comeback single?). Also even LY era is based around a relationship that doesn't work out because you start to lose yourself. They did make those songs gender neutral from then on though (except for Dimple of course).
I don't think their demographic was teen girls but teenagers in general. And they always have had a lot of romantic, love songs in their albums, it just when they got older, their songs have more metaphors and stories in them.
as someone else mentioned i dont think its fair to say that the target audience was teen girls. bts has always made songs for their "peers" So when they were teenagers, it was for teenagers. when they grew older, it was more for older audiences. I mean they literally debuted with no more dream which is farthest thing from your cute love song targetting teenage girls.
A lot of their earlier songs were a lot more straight forward in their meanings. The first album cycle was all about the school era, including having crushes on girls etc. Some Armys like to push the narrative that every love song is about ARMY, but that isn’t necessarily the case, particularly in the early albums.
OMG this! Not every song is about ARMY! Some ARMYs just don’t want to admit that the members have had relationships before (and probably do now).

yes it can be construed as a love song. but most of the time the "love songs" they put out are love songs for the armys. you see, they would have fan meets and during these times they get to meet and interact with their fans. have high fives, talk and just hang out. there was also a time BTS and some armys watched a movie
I love it wen reactors react to " baby" BTS as it reminds me of how I was when I first found them and became an army back in 2014.
No more dream was their debut song and qhen you watch it you can clearly see that they were hungry and wanted to show the world what they were made of and just how hard they will work for it (also to start with BTS was supposed to be a hip hop group).
Just one day is a BTS song every army knows off by heart and is the song that when ever you hear it you just fall in love with it and this is the song that everyone can sing along too in korean, I love how poetic and romantic the lyricsm is and tbh my fab verse of this song is Yoongis. Also for some reason this is the song that makes everyone fluent in korean.

No More Dream actually has such a deep meaning, in my opinion. I loved that they first song that they sang out of the ballpark was ball-zy (idk how to spell). Just saying to find your dream and then work at it; however, don't just follow whatever our parents want for us. We need to find our own dream and work hard for it. What is your dream?

Edit: American Hustle Life was after this. Whenever you get to Dark and Wild album that is the album they were making while filming American Hustle Life. Their music video for that album is Danger....(Dark and Wild is such an underrated album. Such a banger)
sometimes people put too much pressure into finding the "hidden meaning" when some songs are pretty straight forward. Sometimes there are cultural things people can miss in the straight forward songs and that could be considered a hidden meaning lol but we have to understand that to promote their music they had to make bangers alongside their deep songs. It is widely believed that every love song BTS writes is for armys and that's a cute way to look at it. Just one Day is definitely an ear worm and it's funny that many international armys learn the Korean lyrics to it so easily 💜
Don’t worry about the order of BU content until you actually sit down and go through it, you’ll look at it completely different as you understand the story anyways. And it’s a bit of a brain bender😅 I can’t wait for you to react to yet to come and get all the references. The only thing I ask is for Spring Day, react to the explained video when you react to the song (the one by Italian Army is the best). It’s just such an important song to ARMY and to the victims families. And all the references in the Spring Day MV that are in Yet to Come MV have a lot of meaning. ps. I know you mentioned it in a previous video but don’t be afraid to keep posting whatever videos you want, whether that’s bts, gaming, and other artists and genres. While I personally will always tune in to your bts and probably other music reactions more than video games that’s just because I love music and never played video games growing up so it’s less my speed. But reactors that explore their other interests as well tend to just last longer and have more fun with their channel. From a views viewpoint bts videos might get more views but your other videos reach a different audience which helps grow your channel. Freakin’ tootles🔥✌️

@Megan Lisenbee that one is good too, but they are different. I personally find the one by Italian Army the best, she goes into more detail on the tragedy and it’s relation to the lyrics and MV. She discussed the tragedy (how it happened, how it’s affected people now and then, what BTS did for the families with this song and with donations, and goes into detail on politics surrounding the incident), Omelas and Snowpiercer. Bulletproof vibes discusses The Little Match Girl, touches on the Ferry, and i think on Omelas and Snowpiercer. I think a lot of reactors don’t react to Italian Army’s because you’d have to read and the bulletproof vibes one is spoken to you. But it leaves a lot of information out that I think is necessary to get the full picture. If he wants to he could react to both explained music videos, then the MV, and then the live performance (or whichever order you want). But that’s a lot of content and depressing content at that. So I’d personally recommend the Italian Army one, it’s just really well done.

The whole aesthetic of this MV is kind of funny when you look at it through a 2022 lens - they're all made out to be such "bad boys", and it clashes pretty hard with what we know of some of their personas.
I mean, some of the rappers can carry it off pretty well, but looking back at "bad boy Jin" just makes me grin.

Oh throwing it back to the beginning our boys have come so far. No more Dreams and their visuals reminds me of the elevator prank the staff played on them, they were so young and inexperienced but it was cute. As for just one day for me its a sweet love song and I really liked it. Definitely two very different vibes and thats what makes BTS great they can pull of any genre.
This is the video when they didn't have the money so they asked staff to be in the MV with them. Also, this is the school bus in their latest song Yet to Come MV. It referenced the school bus. This is why Army cried when they saw the school bus in the Yet to Come MV. Its really nostalgic and shows how far they've come

So great that you got to see the completely different styles from their early stuff. I think it’s been important to them along the way not to be pigeonholed and always be surprising.
Don’t worry about the BU order, most people stumble into it. I did too. Following it just means there’s a thread (although lots of different theories about meaning) that might make more sense of the relevant MV storylines. They are meant to be thought provoking and sometimes , like with “I need you”, the song seems to sit independently from the MV.
Anyway, they can all of course be enjoyed in themselves.
Someone else mentioned choreography and the Dance Practices. Some of the iconic ones are amazing to watch because you only see bits in an MV. For Yet to come reference dance practices eg, “I need you”, “Fake love”, Spring Day” and the massively important song to ARMY “Spring Day”.
It’s all a journey and ARMYis insatiable because we just love new people coming to appreciate their talent but you have to go at your own pace and forgive those attached to the “correct” pathway. 👌
The BU is it's own beast, and probably not the ideal place to start. It's okay. You can learn about the band and their music in any order you choose. There is SO much content, it will keep you busy for a long time. And when you're ready to dive into the BU as a whole, you will have some context. All of it tells their story. Thanks for exploring it.
No More Dream and Just One Day, is not part of the BU. So they have themes for albums, No More Dream is the era of school kid rebellion. Just One Day, is the era when they start feeling young love :)

Just One Day was written by Suga when he was hospitalized due to his appendectomy. The way I interpret the song is that...that is how they envisioned (idea) having a gf in the future lol.🤭😂

Armypedia is a sort of a talk show, so they're sitting down, mostly talking, but they also performed three songs live, including No More Dream and Just One Day. There's a video of this performance on the Enjoy BTS More channel that only include "No More Dream".

Nothing hidden in this song, only ordinary love song.. the hidden thing on their MVs was started in their next album: HYYH (the most beautiful moment in life) in 2015.
BTS as a rookie group could not be expected to only put out cutting edge message driven music. Just One Day is what most Idol music is, tied to romance. No More Dream, however, which was their debut track, is quite iconoclastic as it lyrically decries a system wherein Korean youth effectively live their parent's and society's expectations and dreams forgoing their own individual dreams. It hits hard calling kids hypocrites who lie to themselves that there is only one preordained path they must follow no matter how deflating. I think it is safe to say that early BTS while it had some cutting-edge messaging, also had its share of romantic songs, particularly in their Japanese tracks. During this period, they were trying to gain industry regard as Idols while still putting out hip hop driven opinion laced expressions.

Great reaction ❤ that fast rap in No More Dream was jungkook, the main vocalist of BTS. He used to rap in their early songs.
"Just one day" is actually really just about love. A big chunk of their songs that sounds 'lovey lovey' are not about romantic relationships but there definitely are some that is. And Just one day is one of those songs. "Just One Day" is also not part of the BU so there's really no deeper meaning behind it/its mv.
The reason why people think you should check Just One Day out before watching yet to come is because (spoilers) they included the seating arrangements in Just One Day into the Yet to come mv (you'll get it when you watch yet to come). Those who hasnt followed bts or discovered much of their songs won't realise this when they watch the Yet to come mv. Although subtle, the inclusion of JOD seating arrangement in YTC is very impactful, especially for their fans/armys.
Don't specifically try to find message and listen and it get ur own meaning depending on ur emotional situation. Thats my opinion when i listen songs
If you have watched their Yet To Come MV, they recreate this sitting arrangement in the opening of the MV, same with bus it's part of their Yet To Come MV. The truck also appears in the MV where they used in the MV Run, same as the container van with the number written on it....and other references fromm their previous MV's like from Spring Day, Blood Sweat & Tears, and alot more.
He's watching all of these so that he can watch the yet to come mv and know what's happening. 😄

You need to see the dance practice for Just One Day. Before they started filming RM & J-Hope were making V laugh & all throw the practice they continue & JK & Jimin join in too. Usually BTS's dance practice videos are smooth, but J.O.D has such huge edit gaps, because poor Taehyung couldn't control his giggles. My boy nearly turned purple! Oh & Jin abuses Mario.

It’s not always the person we see that is actually singing in the “just one day,” mv … there’s a lot of one persons part playing during someone else’s visual there .
I wouldn’t worry too much about the BU unless you really want to. I’ve been ARMY for two years now, and still haven’t got around to really diving into it (one day… )

My first favorite BTS song (before Crystal Snow & Lights), aka the song where every ARMY can sing Korean.
I believe it is just a good old love song- however, I heard someone present an interesting theory.
This was a time when the guys were super busy. and didn't have much time for anything (like eating or sleeping).. the theory is that they were actually singing about time itself, instead of a specific person. 🤔

BTS musical content is very chronological, so I’d recommend getting a vague sense of when a song is released (year, album) before reacting. It’s integral to their message and theme. Have fun!
tbh besides bu videos i think its okay for you to do their music in any order you want as long you make sure to get to all of them eventually then it shouldnt matter.
no more dream is their very first music video and the lyrics are one of the most important parts of that song.
i and many other armys use this line "bts is different they dont do love songs they have deep song" etc but once we reel someone in and they start diving deeper then i like to let them know bts DOES have love songs not a lot but a good handful. the newer love songs can be debated as about armys especially since they use gener neutral writing. but the older love songs are simply just that. just one day is one of those songs. its very adorable and in my opinion cleverly written compared to typical love songs but its still just that a love song.
we tell people they dont have any because people always assume thats all they are and never think deeper so we want to plant that seed of thinking deeper early on then eventually like you did you see the actual love songs. bts has never been one dimensional and people always see them that way when they first start reacting/getting into them which could push narratives on their deeper songs or fan songs as being just love songs about relationships when thats not the case.
example in run bts the "we caught you bae bae" lyric i seen many new reactors who didnt go deep yet see that line and assume the whole song is about a girl. people already come in with that expectation so armys have to break people out of that by lying a little bit. sorry if youre disappointed that we lied but most never give them a chance otherwise and we never know who will go deeper and who wont until they do or dont.

Hello. In "yet to come" theire is a lot of références to "spring day" but that song is a little special for the ARMY if you react to it please react to an explaination. In my opinion the best one was made by "An italian Army" it explain verry well what hapen and the répercussions.
I definitely wasn't about to let him react to Spring Day without getting him an explanation for it too. We've got the Italian Army explanation on the schedule as well as a short documentary about the ferry incident by Plainly Difficult. Thanks for the suggestion!

Anyway… while it’s true that there are more to BTS’s songs then you think at first, that isn’t the case w/ every song. So Just One Day is simply just a sweet love song. No you are correct it really is just a love song. A lot of their work isn't and are song for ARMY or have several meanings or are about a different type of love. However their earlier work particularly from the school trilogy does include normal love songs/song about what younger people consider love anyway.

But yes he is a fast rapper with a clean cadence. Jungkook does most of the harmonies and adlibs… him and Jin rap one of the fastest Korean rap songs together lol super fun and they’re legit… jks a sub rapper position
