    Highlights from the Olympic Stadium in London as France's Renaud Lavillenie wins Pole Vault Gold and breaks the Olympic record in the process on 10 August 2012.
    Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

    it's not bull in the least, i hope you kno that by passing up to another height without clearing the previous one you get less attempts at the height than someone who did clear the previous height, by doing so you are putting yourself at a major disadvantage because you're putting more pressure on yourself to clear a higher height, the higher the bar goes the harder it is to clear and the less likely chance of a "lucky jump" happening, lucky jumps don't happen very often at all at these heights

    just cannot understand why someone can raise the bar when he cannot pass over the one before this is bull what needs to be done is one at a time this is the only way to resolve a champion, this includes high jump. a champion is someone who can do and excel at the step taken one at a time from 1feet to 2feet and not 1feet to 3feet cos anytime there is this law in any scenerio is lucky jump can always happen to anyone to risk a higher level is not the factor it is to excel every inch of the way

    • @DakonBlackblade2
      @DakonBlackblade2 Před 7 lety +1

      It's 6.16 actualy, and its indoor, and it is not during competition (as in not while someone is actively disputing medals and whatnot against him). There's a reason the OR is 6.03 and not nearly as high as the WR, when you are compeating and you have to jump a certain mark or you loose its much harder than it is to jump 6.16 when you are doing so just to set marks.
