love how they celebrate as they go down
6m is almost 20feet got time on way down
Ikr
Yeah but its different if jumping down a building
So does my wife, every time I go down..
@@goodhumourwagon dammmmm
I wonder if the idea behind pole vaulting was originated as a way of scaling a castle wall.
Using a pole you could launch over ditches with spikes in them, over pike lines, and knock people off horses.
@@AhmadBelhoul I guess they gotta land right on the wall, at the time they start falling
Castle walls were like 30-50 feet up probaly n 12 feet thick so idk man
And then you end up breaking ur waist bone, legs and spine
Cracked screen but i think ferra are bigger lol
the look on their faces while falling, very satisfying
The last jump was perfection - pole hardly bent, and no sideways bending, absolutely straight when he let it go. That would have given him the height he needed.
Not bad for the pole to bend to the side
3:20 - 3:29 imagine achieving the greatest triumph of your life, and hearing an entire stadium cheering madly...for the guys running around you.😄
At least some of them are watching you lol. Maybe not allot but enough to get hype
Thiago is one of the most underrated athletes of all time, he is not recognized even in his country. When he won gold they said it was luck and blamed the crowd for booing Lavillenie. I was so happy that he managed to get back on the podium in Tokyo, he deserves a lot of recognition, he made history
Bro, I wouldn't even be brave enough to fall on my back from that height.
I’ve always wondered if a pole has ever stabbed someone as they went down. That would be super scary
acar1994 And I thought I was the only one who wondered that ...
@@jaco7675 it has happened a few times, no serious injuries though, just alot of pain and a few stitches
Normally the only injury is getting hit in the head with the pole or bottoming out in the cloud 9..when I started in 1970 we had a sawdust pit to land in. Quite a few of us got hurt badly back then.
Me also thinking about it😂
french guy: I got the Olympic Record!
Thiago: hold my caipirinha
armand duplantis laughing at those hights
@@sokay. 6.03 is the Olympic record. Armond got 6.02 in tokyo
@@victorcrespo2232 yet he holds the world record
@@firef0rge yeah, but not olympic
@@victorcrespo2232 to be fair, he attempted 6.19m at the Olympics after he cleared 6.02m. He nearly got it but time will tell that Duplantis will surely break Thiago Braz's Olympic record.
i find the way they flipped their bodies in the air and fell off looks incredibly beautiful
Thiago Braz 🇧🇷
🏅- RIO 2016
🥉- TOKYO 2020
4:07 Frenchman got left hanging lol
So we're not going to talk about the second dudes massive junk bouncing around?
Jared lol i saw that too. MONDO DONG
Well you gotta have huge balls for this sport
C R 😂😂😂
Stop objectifying men. Not cool.
@@scottallison172 Bro
0:45 bruh I swear he ain't wearin no underwear
He wants to feel the breeze and the victory
of course he is, you can see it after he lands he's wearing white briefs
he was but keep dreaming
Parabens Thiago, quase nem acreditei quando vi o verde amarelo no peito e 6.03 metros! LOL Vibrei demais!!!
Fantastic camera work on that final one; almost as good as the vault itself!
This is one of those videos where I bet most people here don’t even know why they’re watching it, myself included lol
Yep definitely me but it’s in my watch later now cuz of this music in the video. I love it
Thiago is my favorite to watch.
who else think Thiago can fly higher than 6.03m during his 6.03m jump. 👀
Yes, he was high enough, but he could have touched it while going back to the ground if the bar was higher than that...
World record is 6.16m 😎
Thiago had a whole lotta luck, has been over 5.90 once since then, and most of his jumps have been under 5.60
@@SteveMuller1976 who is world record ?
Predestinado!
One of the most difficult sports to train for. Huge respect
That feeling after clearing a tough vault is so surreal
I love to watch olympics
I was waiting for and happy to see the sur 6 meters
4:28 Thiago Braz, recordista mundial, orgulho do Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Sorry to tell you, but he hasn't done a single world record and he won't be worlds number 1 ever again.
Brazil suxslol
*Recordista Olímpico
He has never and will never have a world record 🤦♂️
Another great video
Great video
There like in slow motion in there heads as they Crest the pole awesome feat👍
Pole vault is fun to watch 👍👏🏻
The clip of the mother hugging the son was touching.
Fun now when Armand did the same when he beat the WR a few days ago
Beautiful Video.
BRASIL🇧🇷❤
The Russian is a stone face god
No reason for this to be this entertaining or even a sport but it just is and I wanna do it super bad
I love all sports but these vaulters are the most amazing athelates by far.
that one guys did Usain bolts thing yo. He be like I stole it XD
Wooow, this is the most difficult athletic discipline!
Passar dos 6 metros é feito por poucos atletas parabéns! Brasil.....
Hiiii sara...Well done...I want to talk to u
Thiago Braz 🇧🇷✊🏽
This is beautiful! The instant where pole vaulters are inverted and in mortal danger but the convert upward energy to arc over the bar is ultimate victory! They seem to start smiling once they clear the bar - "I got it! I kicked death in the a** again!"
i have to watch this for ma online PE class.
awesome!
Just if you imagine if you landed on that pole straight up....ooooo that would hurt
3:32 super
മണവാ ളൻസ് close call
4:45
Parabéns ao meu conterrâneo paulista Thiago Braz de Brasil 6.03🇧🇷🏅🥉
5:03 the last guy had liike 15cm++ of reserve space. As top record ever is 6.18m maybe he could beat that with this jump here
Nowhere near that
Thiago monstro!!! SUPER MERECEDOR!! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
woaaah, yeah it's a common reaction but m rly amazed
What are the pole made of? And is there a weight limit for this event or every competitor have their own pole suited for their weight?
Imagine training soldiers to do this and they can scale any walls blocking them
This takes many many many years to practice and get good at, you may aswell built a robot to do it lmao. (I know it's a joke sorry)
Only if the walls had a soft mat on the other side, because there’s no way people would land on their feet.
Duplantis enters the chat 😎🔥🔥🔥
He almost broke the Olympic record by a mile. He attempted to break his World Record by going 6.19m but narrowly misses. We will have to wait at Paris 2024 for it to happen tho. Duplantis is built different.
Great video 👍
I really wanna try thisssss
These guys are Bad Dudes!
Nice ma friend
Male pole vaulting - come for the records and performance
Female pole vaulting - come for the as...tounding sportsmanship.
Any info about the background song is appreciated
Yesss plz anyone
Interesting how Sergey Bubka did not make this list, he held the world record for more than 22 years.
I think its just because he wasn't that good at the Olympics, because the heights, which are shown in this video are also not that high
I like how they could literally use that to get ontop of 20 foot houses
Nice
Bupka was by far best breaking 20’ several times. But Lavillenie finally beat the Beamon of pole vaulting and has world record at 20’2.5” “once”-Bupka held 30 years. Pole vaulters (men and women) maybe the best athletes in world - speed balance timing upper body body control. And as sports go not one that completely destroys your body.
The second guy😂
Oh man my palms rn
And now, world record holder pole vault, maybe the highest pole vault jump of all time is Armand Duplantis from Sweden, with highest jump reach to 6,18 metres...
One of the hardest sports on the planet. Sheesh.
Who's here after duplantis just jumped 6,17?
Good
Thiago literally float in the air at the last
Esse ano vão repostar pra incluir o Duplantis 🕺
4:20 when you shoot your shot with a girl and you already know you getting her
i just want to fall down on that soft cushion from those 5-6 meter
They’re not always soft the new ones HURT
Where is Bubka ? Who all this guys ? It's like "kinda forget" Muhamed Ali in list of greatest box fights.
I think Sergei Bubka's world record was set at a World Championships, not the Olympics.
Yeah! And why isnt renauld's world record in ? The 6m 18???
Hopefully armand duplantis play in Olympic
Thiago Braz from Brazil 💫💫
How do they travel with these poles?
I like high jump most and am a good player in that
There are some mistakes on the video. The brazilian Tiago Braz has broken the olimpic record in Rio 2016. The French Lavilenie did the same in London 2012, not in 2010, like was showed.
CZcams killing me with these double ads.
And here comes Duplantis 🔥🔥🔥
I need to escape from prison and I need a pole to jump over the wall
PEDROJELLO why need a pole when you can dig a hole.
I want the olympics to make a comeback so we could witness theses amazing performances, Armand Duplantis would've won the gold easily this year if it wasn't for the Bat-Flu. Hope that Tokyo 2021 will happen, f@£k all pandemics.
Well well well.....
Anyone here from the recent recommendations and started wondering how high people can actually go? Just me? Alright.
Not alone brother
Wow it miss me a. Lot..
the mid-air celebration
0:43 Dwight from the British Office
Cool
Why did you not put Bubka in the list?!?
Welp....I got a long way to go....I went 13'-6" in high school, and still have that pole.....I'm almost 50 now and use it to jump into my lake, lmao.
2020 Duplantis? 😏😏
Lavillenie is the goat🇫🇷
not anymore
Brasil 🇧🇷📈
If the pole increases in height does it truly count as the highest jump. I wanna see them do that with a pole the same size as their human height.
Yes it does count. What your idiotic brain fails to realize is that when the pope gets bigger you have to get faster and stronger. And there’s a limit to that. Get too fast you lack muscle mass. Get too much muscle mass you lack speed.
Sergey Bubka in 1994 had a last world record 6, 14 .
And then Duplantis happened.... ❤️❤️❤️
Yep! Could try for the world record next time.
Update this with Duplantis.
Parfait
Soundtrack?
Yes we need this answer
Time to update it
Bubka is not enlisted. Didn't he make any record in Olympics?
Then Duplantis making 6meters high effortlessly. And our very own Ernest Obiena making some statements 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 best asian pole vaulter in this era
BRASIL 😍👑👑🔥🔥💜
