We know there are more, so which other moments could make the list? We never rule out a part 2 (or 3, or 4)... 😉
🥉Kurt Angle Winning The Olympics With A Broken Bacc
Or 🥈Cathy Freeman victory lap with her Indigenous Flag waving
🥇 Peter Norman with his 2 brothers John Carlos & Tommy Smith at the 68' Olympics... Those wer sum moments for me. Y'all need Olympic Rings emoji.
Petra Majdic
Michael Phelps' 8 Golds from Beijing or winning four 200m IM Golds in a row over 4 Olympic Games.
Yeah, Phelps, and maybe Steven Bradbury? Just a couple favorites!
Steven Bradbury
The German weightlifter is my favorite. His wife died in a car accident a year before. He won the gold for her.
That one gets me every time.
Ausgezeichnet!👍
Why am I crying so much about it like actual tears
She was lifting with him for sure
almost cried in the middle of class
When dad ran onto the track to help his injured son I felt that.
It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the program title.
I cried super emotional to have your dad back you up
Feel this d
I cry every time you see this. The combination of physical and emotional pain Derek felt and the enormous embracing love his father emanated.
And the fact that the father said something to keep him going to the finish line when they came up to help him off the track was honestly the Best part bc he would know an athletes pride in Olympics wouldn’t let him walk off without finishing at all so he helped get him to the line. Like that just shows he was proud of him to begin with and didn’t care if he won gold or was on last place. It was the fact that he did it to begin with.
I wasn’t prepared to cry when the weightlifting one came up
Started crying when the German weightlifter showed his wife's picture. NGL
Seconded. 🥲
Same here🥲
When Redmonds father went onto the field to help him it made me smile. Nothing would stop him from helping his son. Huge respect for him
4:20 There were 4 arms lifting the weight that day
His podium scene gets me every time.
im uploading athletics videos of me train on my channel trying to get faster
i believe he would have lifted that weight even if hes arms snapped hes in pain from his wife dieing
It was amazing. You can see the relieve and happiness when he did that lift. I have never seen it before and I didn’t know who he was before the video but I found it incredibly powerful. Great courage shown, showing the human heart was the strongest muscle on show that day.
Bruh that comment got something in my eye
Best comment on whole youTube I have ever seen
I hated that after Japan won the gold medal in Softball they got rid of softball. I'm glad that it's being brought back for Tokyo. I knew Nadia Comaneci was going to be on this list. You can't have a greatest Olympic moments without Nadia.
402 : I think the Americans not being able to handle losing had something to do with getting pulled.
@@grousetheghoul2754 They'd already decided to nix baseball and softball before the 2008 games started, via a secret IOC vote in 2005, but the real reason is that the MLB in the States/Canada refused to alter its season to make its players available, so they nixed both sports. And softball is being brought back for the Tokyo games.
What the difference between soft and base ball, all in all its not a popular sport
@@KIM-xl6zs Ball, pitching style, ball speed and bat. Softball uses metal bats and baseball uses wooden bats most of the time.
@@penquin402 both awful sports
4:33 gets me every time...
Larry lamieux saved 2 sailors instead of completing the race..Wow what an inspiration.. And the German weightlifter story was so emotional as he won the medal for her wife.... ❤️❤️❤️
Yep, Lamieux's act wins in my book. Saving lives is the tops of sportsmanship.
Not only didn't complete the race, but gave up a medal to do it. Some people recognize there are more important things in life than a piece of metal. The man has his priorities straight.
So many gold medalists are forgotten over the times but Larry Lamieux’s action is immortalized and rightfully so
3:24 sis was only 14 when she got a perfect 10. what am i doing with my life
Most Olympic gymnasts are teenagers
The runner at the end.... TEARS. Can you imagine spending 4 years training/ disciplining yourself only to be stopped by your own body? Can you imaging the sacrifice? Can you imagin?
German weightlifter had me crying so fast.
Watching redmond and his dad always bring a tear to my eye! Amazing moment. Also Mathais's achievement is phenomenal. Cant even imagine what he must have felt!
Redmond finishing with his old man is my all time favorite.
Nobody ever remembers who won the race. We remember Redmond and his dad.
God! Sports never ceases to amaze me
Yep
"The benefits of being bald is not needing a headcap" -Me
top 10 legendary recitation
They should all shave their hair!
Sometimes best isn't always just best. When you know the story behind, best is bravest.
5:02 just inspirational
I was feeling depressed. This inspired me. Thank you Olympics!
the gymnastic comitte wasnt ready for 10 perfect point. the score board just shows 1.00, instead of 10.00 😂
Nadia Comaneci was 14 years old!!!!!
A great moment for me is when Aly Raisman (gymnast) won the silver medal in Rio in the all around final (2016). She failed to medal at the 2010, 2011, and 2015 world championships in the all around, and she lost a bronze medal in London 2012 due to a tie breaker. She overcame so much, and she got it on her 5th try! She was better in 2016 than she was in 2012.
The weightlifter's celebration brought tears to my eyes. Humans are amazing
The german weightlifter is so touching dedicated his win to his dying wife
My favourite moment is/was Cathy Freeman winning the 400 in Sydney.. Such a legend
That joy of underdogs winning is out of this world
That sailing one is both amazing sportsmanship and heartbreaking cause it never should've been up to him to help there should've been a better system in place
Awesome moments! This is why I love The Olympic Games! 🤘🤘 ✊
Honorable mentions go to Jesse Owens in 1936, The Miracle On Ice of 1980, and Cathy Freeman in 2000. 👍👍
Jesse Owens and Cathy Freeman for sure. also Tommie Smith(BP-fist in the air), Bob Beamon, Muhammad Ali lighting the olympic fire
and Naim Suleymanoglu 1988
im uploading athletics videos of me train on my channel trying to get faster
why cathy freeman ? whats so special
@@jbas7525 she was the first native Aboriginal athlete to win a gold
Salute to Derek Redmond and his father 💪❤💯⚡
Haile Gebrselassie is a legendary athlete in Greece,i remember watching him when i was a kid and was blown away about how much stamina a person can have
my personal favorite is felix sanchez winning gold in athens 2004 athletics..... for us dominicans just him qualifying was a big deal, so when he won it shook the nation, truly a national treasure
For me all of these moments in Olympics are all memorable.
the German weightlifter got me. my eyes will be puffy all day now. thanks.
I can’t believe the miracle on ice wasn’t on here
I agree but at the same time enjoyed seeing some other moments that I had not seen before. I have seen the Miracle on Ice and Bob Beamon's jump in sooo many videos it was a nice change. Just my opinion. Have a great day.
@@kragratt yea I guess your right but I don’t think everyone knows about those events. And a good day to you as well
there were so much times i almost teared up but i held back
I got chills on the weight lifting one
Stephen John Akhwari in Mexico 1968. Through decades of memorable Olympic moments, his last place finish in the men's Marathon is one of the most inspirational Olympic memories for me.
Literally chills.
that german weightlifter is the shortest clip that makes you tears!
Love them all, so inspiring 💕
When the Dad says get away from me this is my son. I hope someday I can be half the dad he is.
Nadia, is still the greatest of the greatest legend in Olympic history. If one has watched it life that how fast she did that routine, you would know why.
That was seriously insane. The talent gymnasts have is incredible
Wonderful moments,
Simply, Just Inspirational!
My wish for Olympic world of sports is to bring these revolutionary change for the first time in world.
For my country (Indonesia) and I, it would be Barcelona 1992 in Badminton. Susi Susanti shedding tears on top of the podium hearing our national anthem for the very first time in the Olympics.. 😍
Greg Luganis, a legend.... Tears in my face now.... :)
I’m surprised the legendary comeback by Jason Lezak in the 2008 4x100m freestyle relay wasn’t on this video
That was awesome.
So much respect for Haile Gebrselassie
Nadia Comenci.... WONDERFUL...thisi is called perfection
I cried during this
4:50 brought tears....
this’s so emotional
i miss pre-pandemic world so much
that weightlifting one made me cry out of nowhere
Best moments ever in Olympics???? No mention at all of Jesse Owens??? I’m very disappointed!!! Just sad!!
Their emotions are not just emotions..their tears are the result of their extra efforts than others..
The weightlifter seemed like he had trouble pushing it... but once he did, he held it longer out of spite. Claiming it like unchallenged victory.
Olga Korbut's amazing performance at Munich 1972 deserves to be on the list.
German weightlifter feels like he recieved a golden buzzer. Honestly
Well, there are many great moments in sports. Two, to me obvious, moments on lists like these would be
1) Bob Beamon winning in Mexico with a jump that beat the old world record by 55 cm, or an increase by 6,5 % in one go.
2) The Soviet last second win in basketball vs the US in 1972, the first ever title lost by the US.
And of course, there are plenty of great moment in the winter games too, e.g. the US win in ice hockey in 1980!
And now the shared gold in the high jump in Tokyo
My Favorite will always be Billy Mills at the 1964 olympics.
Just a couple of moments in history where you can't help but think: "Wow, humans are pretty cool."
Incredible
The Olympic games have a symbol race, this Is the Marathon, now in 2004 ...100 years After the First game in Maratona, this race opening in the same place!! Stefano Baldini Legend
Respect for Larry Lemiux
Sport is great!
Pure human positive energy
So amazing. And Romania ❤️
the weightlifter had me in tears
That weightlifting one deada** almost made me cry and I barely ever do.
I cried.
How about the incident with black men track athletes who raised their fist to oppose racism (which they were banned for)
It was Tommy Smith in 1968 Mexico,
With Peter Normand, who was outcast by his own country, when he stood with them.
Keri Strug landing the vault on one foot to win gold....
Thank you marshal, for not preventing Redmon's father from coming to help his son
Dave Wottle coming from last to first in the 1972 Munich 800 meters
can you please upload more olympic ceremonies
Please, what about Dan Jansen? Speedskater? Most inspiring story!
what music is that? wonderful video. his wife's photo made me emotional.
few people know this Carlos Lopes won the Marathon gold medal in LA 1984. Two weeks before he went to LA he was ran over by a car while training on the road.
I love how the most watched is Matthias Steiner winning gold.
i teared up at matthias steiner
all, is a story of never give up...
I LOVE SPORTS
i cried at 4:30
greg hitting his head on the board - nota great moment
We all know the greatest moment in Olympic history is when Steven Bradbury won gold in the speedskating finals when all the other skaters bombed out.
The presence of USA Basketball Dream Team in 1992.
I Like That soundtrack
I will have to go for Eric The Eel, even thou he was not even close to winning a medal i still feel it was a beautiful moment
Dame Kelly Holmes went to my school as a kid
what is the song of this background music ? anyone knows?
John Stephen Akhwari of Tanzania in men's marathon at 1968 Olympic : A great story.
¿why am I crying?
Omg give me the background song please it was so uplifting dam
Gail Devers is her best Greatest ever!
A greatest Olympic Moments for me is Gabrielle Andersen in Los Angeles 1984
