I 100% agree with curriculum not being the first step. I have so many people ask me for homeschool advice and they want me to just tell them what curriculum to use. I can't do that! I start asking them questions, like - what are your goals? What do you want your days to look like? Do you need your kids to be pretty independent, or do you want to be more involved in their daily learning? You'd be surprised how many people tell me - they just want to know what curriculum to use or never answer any questions. I really feel like people could save SO MUCH hassle by answering some other questions and looking at their bigger picture and understanding their why BEFORE choosing a curriculum. Curriculum is a TOOL, not a rule book.
