    I've been homeschooling for 1 year now and I have nothing but trouble from people especially now I have another baby on the way the midwife on my sons 2 year check up started to be nosey with my 5 year old and tried to tell me its bad I'm home educating and forced a meeting with some groups and tried to tell me my daughter cabt be home also tried to force me having strangers take care of my kids I said no I don't need anything from you and to no longer contact me even have the inlaws commenting but both my children are very happy especially my 5 year old she was miserable and mistreated and abused at 2 different nursery now she's at home thriving learning alongside her brother and we are so happy they have no rights to your life yet always try to use scare tactics it's crazy

    Hello.
    Thank you for this video. Today is my 2 kids' first day of home school. I was very wary to deregister them and take them on a different path, but your info has helped immensely.
    Thank you again.

    Thank you for this video, it’s very helpful! My daughter sadly is on the brink of permanent exclusion from school already, 5 months into year 7, and home schooling is something I am seriously considering, to avoid that awful situation of EOTAS (our local facility is horrendous). I feel quite inspired, so thank you!

      I have this issue too. My daughter was a perfect pupil but as soon as she went into year 7 she started acting up and they're threatening to exclude her. I scolded her first few weeks but then I thought she was perfectly fine before coming here so is she really the problem? So now I'm taking her out of school and giving home schooling a try 🤞

    Correction: In this video I refer to 'permission' when I should have said 'consent', in the context of requesting consent to have your child's name removed from the roll :)

    After the school has contacted local authority, what can you expect from the local authority? Do they do home visits or do you have to send them proof of home schooling etc?

    Local authorities trying the safeguarding card is why it’s off putting. Why ex care leaver , I’m in university part time , work from home / anxiety around authority stemming from past experiences.

    Hi, thanks for this video. So am I correct in understanding I do not need to inform the local authorities that I am planning to home educate my child who will only become of school age in September?

    • @nurturingdiscontent
      @nurturingdiscontent Před 9 měsíci +2

      Thats right! You don't need to inform the LA about your intention to home edcuate if you have chosen to just not apply to a school, or even if you are deregistering. Often the LA becomes aware you are home educating by other means but it's not your responsibility to tell them at all.

      @emmyeve6321 Před 8 měsíci

      @@nurturingdiscontentdoes that mean they will eventually get in touch and then you have to start providing reports etc. My LA website says you must produce a plan of what you intend to do and then evidence annually that you’ve achieved said plan

    Hi, would like some advice. My niece has seen some footage which suggests she could be homeschooled and is now refusing to go to secondary school. Her parents do not have the money to home-school her with costs per week of upwards of £350. Plus as she is quite shy, the impact of a loss of interaction could have long-term implications on her ability to interact with other members of the general public/friends/colleagues etc. Exercise and other social benefits may also be cast aside. What do you suggest in this situation? Academically she is in the top 5% of her school so the next steps will be very important to her attending university or achieving her goals.

    I’m a student and I’ve literally been trying so hard to be online schooled main reason is that public schooling isn’t for me and I’ve gained depression from it and I physically cannot get out of bed and then get the motivation to walk all the way to school just to sit in a classroom not understanding anything for 1 hour and then walking back home . So in march I had a meeting with one of my school safeguarding teachers and I told them that i wanted to be online schooled so can you give me any advice?.. and then they went at me saying “why do you want to be online schooled? Your parents will get a fine and they will be teaching you.” And I went quiet and cried and now I realised they basically lied to my face because my cousin who’s exactly like me does online classes. But oh well I’m gonna try again and follow your advice because the safe guarding teachers at my school are literally liars and don’t help at all

I don’t know where to start! Can you help direct me to where I find the resources for home lessons? My son is 13, he’s in year 9. I don’t know where to start but I know school is not the right environment for my son. Thank you.
