It's good to see another video! I enjoyed your comments. I have a couple of points to add.
    1. My Bf 109 E will outturn (easily) any speed-built XFL-1. I suspect on the NA server one wouldn't encounter many Bf 109s with turn builds, but it's fairly common as a "surprise" build on the EU server where high energy tactics are employed less often at low and mid tiers. As an aside, my tier 10 Javelin has a "surprise" turn build for the same reasons!
    2. There is one advantage to the muzzle velocities, even though they are low, and that is they are the same for the machine guns and the cannon. This is not always the case, which can lead to one weapons group missing when firing at a reasonably distant target that is banking away from you. If you get the lead right with the XFL-1's guns, you should land all of them.

Bf-109E turn builds on the NA server are not really rare. Once you know that with good yaw use and vertical fighting will beat a Spitfire every time, you can lean on that ability. Also, a turn build will give you a climb rate to match mostly every P-40 out there, and give you superior boost acceleration.
The speed upgrades of a turn build are not to be underestimated.

Well now I'm curious! Do you mind sharing the turn time of your turn build 109E?

I'd be happy to. But I can only tell you the hard number that WG gives, which is the average. I can tell you that with airplanes that have superior yaw controlability, the average turn time is not even close to the actual. Add to that the fact that LPU gives yaw bonuses - now you have a plane with already-great yaw AND give it a yaw bonus? You can make a Yak-1 work for it.
Remember the pre-nerf XF5U? Down near its stall speed, with elevator only, you could get around on a Ki-84. But the average turn of a Pancake was WAY more than the average of a Ki-84. Finding out the secret sauce for all these planes is one of the things that makes this game awesome.

@@ericphillips4952That's kinda where I was headed with this. The XFL has significantly better Controlability and presumably better yaw along with the better turn rate. Guess I'll have to buy the E and spend some time in a training room!

      I'm happy to be a sparring partner. Vs. P-40/XP-77/Spit I/Yak-1/A6M3(exp)/Spit Ia/P-40N/Ki-43 - whatever.
You've seen what NovaTempest does with a Bf-109E. It really is an OP tech tree plane. BTW, my Bf-109E is also a turn build - after watching SpiritFox and his domination of Archipelago with the Bf-109F over the central Plant. He humiliated a Spitfire pilot 3 times. My Emil has a 82 rating with a 9.1 average turn time. I'd have to buy the Spit I again to see what it can do. The pilot has 11 skill points, ABE, ADE, EGI+II, Cruise Flight. I don't even have to try at Tier V to get 15,000PP. With all the bonuses I get, the roll rate is up with the FW-190, and the yaw bonus is 8.4%. I could probably do better. With turn in a can, I can use elevator and flaps to out-turn bot Spitfires - no yaw needed.

The XFL-1 is the okayest premium light fighter at Tier V.
You made it look like a superstar.
I'd love to see you play some of the not-great HFs. The P-38s are all great. The Bf-110E? Not so much.

Boy do I have video for you to round out this week then lol. I like that - "okayest" - I am hereby swapping "viable" in favor of "okayest"!

While the Bf 110 E is a not entirely welcome change coming of the 110 B, I rather enjoyed it. Then again, I had Herr Schneider sitting in the barracks when I got to the 110 E, so maybe that accounts for my perspecitve?

Yeah, Albrecht Schneider makes the Bf-110E at least usable. Back in the days before 2.0, even before 1.4, the P-38s didn't exist in the game. In those days, the Beaufighter was the ruler of the Tier V battlefield. Good guns, good ordnance, good airspeed - the beta testers who got the Me-210 really lucked out, because it was almost as good as the Beaufighter. The Bf-110E was never better than 2nd place even so.
The release of the P-38s changed the whole mid-tier meta. It relegated the Bf-110E to be purgatory for those grinding the German HF line. Pity the poor grinder trying to get anything done in Tier V these days with the 110E.

Hello, as newish player to WoWP coming from WoT and WT, where do you find the expanded characteristics for the weapons and modules?

    • @AytchZero
      @AytchZero  Před 5 měsíci +1

Great question! The official website has some of this information under the Warplanes section (click the "i" next to the modules on each planes page to see even more) and there is a 3rd party site called gamemodels3d.com that also data mines some of the information not on the official site. I will do a video on this soon I think!
