    Very helpful! We've had our Rush G for a year and a half now and for mild off road and concrete jungle city driving we feel the Rush is truly up to task! For an entry level SUV the high ground clearance, ample approach and departure angles, a 2 feet (600 mm) wading depth, 5 star safety features, the stable body on frame structure and its sporty looks is for us good value for money...its Dual VVTi engine yields acceptable fuel efficiency (16 km/L hi-way, 10-11 km/L light to moderate traffic city driving), the 4 speed AT transitions smoothly but as mentioned would be better if it had been a 6 speed gearbox... Thanks thanks great review!

  • @fundiver198
    @fundiver198 Před 5 lety +13

    When an engine is a bit lacking in torque, the last thing, you want to do, is to mate it to a traditional torque converter AT. There is a reason why, old american cars came with V6 or even V8 engines. It was to provide the torque needed to pull not only a heavy vehicle but also the AT.
    So if you are going to get the Rush, ask yourself, if you really need that third seat row and the other features of the G. And if the answer is no, then get the entry level model with the MT. It will give you better fuel economy especially on the highway, it will give more relaxed cruising with lower engine RPM, and the engines performance wont be blunted by the transmission.
    Sure if you mainly drive in the city, having an AT is nice. But if you mainly drive in the city, why not get something based on a car platform, which will give you a much better ride. This is for rough roads in rural areas, and if you are driving there, you can survive to change gears yourself.

    Informative, unbiased, accurate review! For an entry level SUV the high ground clearance, ample approach and departure angles, a 2 feet (600 mm) wading depth, decent features like smart entry, push start/stop button, auto climate control and headlights, back up sensors and camera with guidelines, 8 speakers, hill start assist, traction control, abs, ebds, 6 airbags (5 star safety rating), the stable body on frame structure and its sporty looks is for us sufficient value for money...its Dual VVTi engine yields acceptable fuel efficiency (16 km/L hi-way, 10-11 km/L light to moderate traffic city driving), the 4 speed AT transitions smoothly but as mentioned would be better if it had been a 6 speed gearbox... For mild off road and concrete jungle city driving we feel the Rush is truly up to task! Thanks thanks great review! 👍👍👍😊

    My dad bought one. It's similar but a lot better than my avanza. It's an entry level SUV so the price is just right. If they put a bigger engine, the price would go up significantly I think. If you want a more capable SUV just buy a bigger car otherwise the Rush is enough.

    Honda BRV tires is 196/60 R16 narrow tires , Toyota Rush is 215/65 R16 wider tires, Expander is 205/55 R16 thin tires, of all 3 vehicle Rush has the wider and heavy tires that's why its slow compare to the 2 model.
    I try my vios 2017 using 185/60 R15 passenger is only me at 120kph the engine is noisy and power is slow. I try my vios using 175/65 R15 easy can reach 120kph with less noise. I try vios using 175/65 R14 very fast can reach easy 140kph. This mean narrow and smaller tires can drive car/suv faster.
    Is anybody tried replace tires of Rush thinner like 195/60 R16 , i am sure Rush will becomes faster,more power and less noise.

    Shame really, Rush seems to be the perfect size for city/province, but it's the engine that lets it down. Imagine having 7 passengers with luggages, up hill with no turbo and cruising on the highway in 4th gear. The cruising RPM of that engine must be around 3.5-4k constantly. That's going to hurt the noise level and fuel efficiency.

    • @fundiver198
      @fundiver198 Před 5 lety

      For cost reasons. Wigo, Avanza, Rush are made by Daihatsu in Indonesia, and its cheaper to use existing production lines to continue making the old 4AT rather than investing in new ones. Xpander and Ertiga also come with 4AT, so its kind of normal for the new entry level MPV / SUV segment. Only Mobilio / BR-V gets a CVT.

      Comparing it to the Xpander which gives it:
      8.5km/liter on the city and
      13.6km/liter on the highway
      So probably the Xpander is a better choice for travelling from Provincials to Manila.
      Edit: its even more fuel efficient by having the same engine as the rush.
      Rush: 1.5L Dual VVT-I Inline 4- cylinder engine
      Xpander: 1.5L DOHC 4- Cylinder MIVEC Engine.
