Honda BR-V it's closest rival but the design reminds me of much larger Honda CR-V.. so many styling similarities, although Toyota is narrower and also simpler, basic. It's got decent styling, features/package.
I would just make a custom wood boot cover and its golden, Im glad they didnt put the 3rd row in you want that get an Avanza.. the fact that it is RWD is already better than anything else as they are all FWD.
I saw this for the first time today and I must say aesthetically it looks the part. Definitely agree with you in that for the price and what you get the weaknesses can be overlooked. What I don't understand though is why wouldn't Toyota include the third row, considering this is likely to be the segment sales leader already the extra row would guarantee it as a runaway success. Even more puzzling is that we know Toyota already has the platform and parts for a small bakkie as demonstrated by this and the Avanza yet to date they are yet to make one, again even though we know that would most likely be a runaway success. A normal small bakkie based on the Avanza and then a Renault Duster Oroch type version based on the Rush, why Toyota? Overall great car and as always excellent review.
I bought one of this. At first, I like it. It was really smooth and it looks great. However, the downside for me is its power. When I drive, I can feel that it's struggling to push to 100s.
Good Review. I find it a little underpowered for the size. However it can be a great family mover in city. Can you please review Mahindra XUV 500, it starts from 282,995 and goes up to 397,995.
Agreed I viewed one in the showroom and it's so cheap inside. Even the gear lever looks cheap, flimsy and can bend with enough force. The fake plastic stitching looks so bad. The interiors are aweful. Comes only in 1 trim as far as I know. If it came in other trims I might have considered buying one.
Eleona Ligon This car has a good durability as well. Rush is not a new line up. It's been made since 1997. But anyway, Innova is a good car too. So yeah.
Not too bad. What bugs me a bit is the low torque and massive boot with no lid... Big boot is awesome but without a cover it's a no go in SA. Perhaps the Haval H2 might be better.
if this come to India , and priced well then this will rarely fail to become block buster sale of the year in that segment....compact suvs demand is very high in indian market now.....this vehicle will dominate taxi department as once toyota qualis did...
@@wtrdogg20 I bet this will outlive anything american made in this price bracket or even 50% more. The reason american cars are no longer on the world markets is because they cannot compete with these lowly Eastern made cars for durabilty and dependability. Then there is the MacD size issue.
Chris Brown too small for average american people, that's why this car is only available in asian market, don't forget the noisy underpowered 1.5 liter in a suv,the americans usually prefer 2.0 liter + engines because they tend to be more efficient in a highway and the low gas prices in america
I took it for a test drive. Really not a good experience. Besides the irritating noise generated by the front brakes everything seems plastic. Disappointed how the microphone was just placed on top of the steering column - it looks like it was added after the interior was designed and then suddenly realised they forgot to add the mic. Price is not that bad, but certainly not a vehicle I would consider buying.
Had the 2008 model. It's okay, a car is only reliable if the owners take care of it and my parents neglect the car so much when I started using the car they blamed me for wrecking it when it's actually the car's age starts to catch up. Also in my country we have the rebadge 2019 version called Perodua Aruz and get this, it's is basically the same car with the Toyota Rush and Toyota still sell the Rush, for what reason I don't know why they allow a rebadge and their own model to compete the same market
Adel Elewa 5 seater Toyota Rush only available in the Philippines. 5 seater MPV without 3rd row seating are also famous in Taiwan with 3rd row windows and strut bar for safety haul or cargo. 5 seater Toyota Rush can be used as bed or sleeper on 2nd row seating.
Dr.Rommel Bonsun xpander is not the biggest MPV compared to rush try to think xpander uses a can body and the important thing is still to use front wheel axles
Eventhough there are many insulting comments, I as an Indonesian feel proud that this car is made in Indonesia. Actually the engine is from Daihatsu. All twin cars between toyota and daihatsu in Indonesia are made in Daihatsu factory.
Don't be overproud... The designer is Japanese... Indonesia just produce money for Japan... If you love Indonesia car. Wait for SMK... Not Japanese's car...
121SeedDestiny121 What's the difference with another brand? Honda uses the same base engine in H-RV and Fit. B-RV, Mobilio and City, etc. Mitsubishi use Colt plus engine, in their MPV car such as Xpander. Volkswagen Touareg uses same base engine with the Porsche Cayenne. Suzuki uses Ertiga engine (their MPV car), inside new Jimny. Even Fortuner and Innova uses the same base engine.
R R Choosing between Fit/Jazz Mobilio and City, which one would you compare with Rush? -I'm favorable with Hatchbacks so its smaller and can fit inside a small garage -I'd like the ability to recline rear seats such as with Rush or Mobilio (not sure for Fit/Jazz) -I'm thinking Rush E manual just cos Hondas here in my country provide the lowest spec on their manual variants.
R R The engine of Rush 2NR-FE with 104ps and 136Nm is also same as the Yaris/Vios and Avanza that were currently sold in my country. Underpowered engine and Ladder Frame body. The Rush is using coil spring and if you want comfort then this is not for you. Peace!
121SeedDestiny121 Same base engine, but still different. Rush and the currently Avanza are using 2NR-VE, while Yaris/Vios using 2NR-FE. In my opinion the engine is not underpowered (especially the manual transmission), and not overpowered as well. About ladder frame chassis, I think it's not that bad. Ladder frames are tough, more suited to bad road areas/off-road, thanks to major components being mounted higher, and easier to fix when you get it wrong. One can see why it’s still the preferred method, especially for off-road or 4x4 purpose. I think that's why Toyota still using that chassis in Rush, and not choosing monocoque or unibody. About the spring I agree with you, but they put stabilizer in the new Rush. So the car is better than the previous generation. But still if you really want the comfortable one, there's sedan, MPV or full-size SUV.
Nice design...
Toyota will never make you cry, inshaallah
2:38 i like this feature a lot.. 😚 adjustable rear seat like front
I just love the Rush...
LOVE the reviews, thanks!!
Thank you for the amazing review. Its 2021 and I have been planning to buy the car but hesitant about its horsepower capabilities.
Very professional review
This car is just perfect for me without doubts
Well I enjoy my Rush best deal ever . Comfortable and easy to drive. Good fuel economy and best for long road trips
How is the Rush on long trip highways, please share your experience with me ?
I love Toyota rush

You got 5 seater there? its was built for 7
No armrest for the driver.
Dealbreaker!
Looks like a raised Avanza - there is no escaping those minivan proportions.
I'm glad it has a manual transmission
Wow...indonesia export car...nice
nice video
Best of best car
Give it a 2l turbo diesel like the engine in the previous Corolla/Auris with a 6speed auto and it will blow away any competition.
I hope the South Africa people love this Rush.

They don’t make car reviews like this anymore! 💯😂
Actually, the car type is Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) a.k.a. Minivan from the engine capacity
toyota rush and terios, with fortuner, LED
The moment when the Terios successor was succeeded by the "other brand"
Nice
Seems like pajero had illegitimate child with honda crv
Had a 2006 but it turned out to be lemon 🍋 😂 i dont think mommy parado was honest xD
😂😂😂😂😂😂
fgathumbi I am pajero user that wants to get a rush so this kind of an offense

Live axle???
thats cool

Launched in Pakistan in sept 2018
When toyota rush launch in india
I bought one of this. At first, I like it. It was really smooth and it looks great. However, the downside for me is its power. When I drive, I can feel that it's struggling to push to 100s.
Why don't you buy a faster car then?
Ok lang yan sir, hindi naman pang karera ang sasakyan na yan... 😅
I felt the same. First two weeks were fine. Then constant use I felt it’s under powered
Price ?
Oh, right hand drive
Looks like the production of this car was
Rushed
.
Looks like an Avanza cross
Perfect, but Toyota Viet nam is total different. Air bags dont usually open in accidences so Toyota Viet Nam is very famous in Viet Nam.
Say what!??
Good Review. I find it a little underpowered for the size. However it can be a great family mover in city.
Can you please review Mahindra XUV 500, it starts from 282,995 and goes up to 397,995.
Rush is very good car. Rush has gotten 5 stars for safety crash from NCAP.
nope
i had this car bout 5 months.. it's a really great car tho
You're being kind, that engine is a dinosaur and it has more hard plastics than a Chinese toy store.
Yeah but it's better then a Chinese car
And the engine prove of how reliable it's
Agreed I viewed one in the showroom and it's so cheap inside. Even the gear lever looks cheap, flimsy and can bend with enough force. The fake plastic stitching looks so bad. Aero Loco "it's so cheap inside " well yeah it's because it's a cheap car
Epic, 😂
Good car for 0-80kmh, but don't rush ,
Toyota rush daihatsu terios & perodua aruz.. The same platform and same dna...with 7 seater for Malaysia and Indonesia market
I took it for a test drive: everything excellent for that price - engine a big let-down
This is like a Baby Fortuner
No, the low quality of fit, finish and outdated plastics ensures that this is nowhere near a baby fortuner
It is a baby fortuner.
If you look it at night you could mistaken it as fortuner.
Paul Smith outdate plastic?
Paul Smith what u on about
Without the 4WD option
I know im off topic here..but i would def choose over and over again toyota innova than this line.
Its more practical and known for its durability.
Eleona Ligon This car has a good durability as well. Rush is not a new line up. It's been made since 1997. But anyway, Innova is a good car too. So yeah.
Eleona Ligon Innova is an MPV or a Minibus as you can call it. This Toyota Rush is an SUV, a mini SUV..
Eleona Ligon of course if you had enough money, most people buy this because of the lower price.
But 1,5 times more expensive
Wow Toyota Rush 600mm wading depth. Awesome!
It has nothing to do with Rush. This is a whole new thing.
Long-term reliability isn't really sexy to some people.
Toyota should built diesel engine 1.5L with 100hp amd 200nm torq for this suv
Ours doesn't have apple carplay compatibility. I wonder. I'm from the Philippines
Because in the Philippines people would rather buy a Fortuner than this piece of crap.
Not too bad. What bugs me a bit is the low torque and massive boot with no lid... Big boot is awesome but without a cover it's a no go in SA. Perhaps the Haval H2 might be better.
Get the MG RX5 instead.
Toyota really messed this vehicle up in the engin department, looks nice and seems capable if there is a 4x4 version launched.
buy rav4
It was coming from Vios engine.
if this come to India , and priced well then this will rarely fail to become block buster sale of the year in that segment....compact suvs demand is very high in indian market now.....this vehicle will dominate taxi department as once toyota qualis did...
msk389 Unfortunately, it's not coming to India as Toyota will only offer it for select markets only. There's no chance of coming to India.
Lol am gonna feel bad driving this
For me it feels like they just resurrected the old Toyota stallion wagon...in a very 1st century manner
Will it be launching in india
Buy a Fortuner bitch!
Rush but no rush 😄
I want to see this come to America, bigger than a RAV4, and smaller than a Highlander. It would be perfect!!!
