Kamoshida was the best villain in P5 though. Absolutely unredeemable disgusting and distorted piece of shit who ruins people's lives because he thinks he's owed something for being a champion and raising the school name. From HIS pov, he's a hero who has never been recognized enough and needed to take what was his to begin with, while being a giant piece of trash in anyone else's eyes. The PERFECT villain for Persona 5, I just wish they tried to put the povs of the enemies more flashed out, I can't believe in P5 you literally go inside their mind but it always gives so little of who they actually are, while in older persona games you can fully grasp the whole point and feeling of a character just fighting them and talking once (I'm talking about someone like that piece of trash Takaya in P3, so dumb and yet so understandable, way more straight to the point than any villain in P5)
They did fix it in Strikers though, and with the final part of Royal, so I guess we can't be too mad.

NONE of Persona 5 villain cast was evil for the passion for evil, everyone had a distorted desire that was just not expanded upon. They are distorted, not evil per se, and we don't really see the distortion and their own way to see what's happening, we just see what they do from a Victim's point of view.

Kamoshida thought he was entitled to a reward for his acheivements, ruling over the school like a king because he thought he deserved to for bringing it glory.
Madarame was desperate to escape the life of a poor artist, so much so he selfishly stole the work of others in order to take the credit, seeing them as nothing but what they could do for him.
Kaneshiro was insecure, seeing himself as stupid, ugly and weak, so endlessly sucked up money from people so he could act like he was a big shot.
Okumura had seen first-hand that being kind and selfless would lead a business to ruin, and wanted to bring a long-lasting legacy to his family name as he saw it as being one of failure. His ambition came from a desire to make something of his family.
Sae was crushed by the pressure of providing for her family in a career that's stacked against her, so became solely focused on winning and lost sight of justice.
Shido saw himself as a man chosen by god to save a ruined nation, the only man with the right to steer the country. It's pretty irrational but i wouldn't say it's anywhere near unrealistic.
@@galarstar052 The problem is that the interpretation is left to the viewer. Also it's just a very broad generalization of what they think, not how things really are.
What I mean is that look at Futaba's palace: compared to any of the villains, we have way more events being shown and direct thoughts being given cause Futaba is just more developed as a character compared to the villains.
Persona 5 Strikers kinda solves it, so if you wanna see what I mean play that, if you didn't do it already

@@kirbythekirb59 It's not the challenge. I enjoyed DeSu, and that game is brutal. Persona 3 has some serious issues with it's lack of any pacing whatsoever, the gameplay issues with the AI (it's not that i can't use tactics, it's just that I can't do what I want to do ever, and I have to let a computer do what it thinks I want to do. No computer could ever beat the real thing, it's just how it is.) and the story just doesn't pick up until the end. The characters are OK enough, but I really only like 3 of them, the SLs are a mixed bag too, and overall I feel like FFIX does better with the whole theme of life and death. Way better. It's a good game, sure, but I just don't like it. Especially when there's a much better game, Persona 4. I just played P4 PS2 after playing P4G for a while, and it's STILL better than P3. P5 and P5R too. P1 is honestly more enjoyable.

I think the best part about Makoto during my gameplay was having Shadow Factorization, being the Nuke element that replaced my Shiisaa, being my main healer for boss fights with Mediarahan, Marakukaja character, and the time she would follow you around Tokyo with a manga in hand. Other than that I thought Makoto was meh, even Haru had me surprised during her Mementos convos

Lemmie edit because this is long and I’m on the internet. I know this video is a joke. The topic just made me reminisce the fact I basically grew up with this game explaining several things I didn’t understand, but the fact that I never had any interaction with the community, other than my friends who just recently found the game, made it a lot easier to enjoy.
Good thing none of these apply to me because I enjoy the game more if I never interact with the community. I get the most enjoyment out of talking about it’s meaning with people who don’t play any video games or even my parents. The satisfying thing about my experience with persona 5 is that I found it in 2016 when I was in 5th grade, but being that young, I didn’t have any social media to see any opinions of it. People were still calling you weird for liking anime in school too, so I never talked to anyone else about it, but all the same, I still enjoyed the base story. The best-best thing was that as I grew up, I understood the meaning of the game more and more, so I actually enjoyed the game purely as it is (still through CZcams because I was too young, and could not afford a PS4) instead of with any fanbase interaction to interfere with my experience. I also went into Persona 5 S blind without any fan interaction (I still didn’t know that there was even a big fanbase) and I enjoyed that more than the original game because of my personal connection and tons of Nostalgia from when I was in 5th grade. Everything just fell perfectly into place with my experience. It’s like the game grew up with me, but took me back to my earliest memories as a thank you. Scramble literally felt like looking back at my experience during early childhood, and keeping that same feeling, but earning a better understanding through life.
The game is good, the fandom otherwise is cringey, but thats common in all the fandoms I know

While I get this is in lighthearted intent I have no clue why some people like to ignore how awful and outdated P2 combat is, and how its bad aging definitely affects the game when it comes to being tiered. SMTII suffers from the exact same issue yet I never hear anyone bitch about people not playing it or not liking it.

1. There actually is a reason P1 and P2 will likely never get remade or at least not for quite a bit longer. They were heavily worked on by Kazuma Kaneko (SMT creator) who Katsura Hashino (SMT3 credit stealer snd P3-5 lead) despises and actively worked to have his contributions removed and replaced in later works, and while unlike for this next part we don’t have direct proof, it’s believed by both fans and iirc even some Atlus devs that Jun Kurosu being officially gay has resulted in Hashino (who is openly massively homophobic and transphobic) going especially out of his way to block any potential true remake of Persona 2.

Yeah, the persona games after the Persona 2 doulogy sadly are missing LGBT characters and they tend to be rather homophobic, which IMO hurts many of the central themes of the game. Also I want a Persona 1 and 2 Remake with the latter having a version, where Jun is the main protagonist. I even have a Name for this Persona game:
