it gets even funnier when you remember that at this point makoto can't hear morgana and from her perspective he's responding to nothing and giving the punchline for a setup that doesn't exist

The best part about this one is that, at this point, Makoto hasn't heard Morgana in the Metaverse yet, so all she hears is him meowing.
That means that she basically just saw Joker look at his cat, then look back at her and say, entirely unprompted, "something witty". For no good reason other than he just *can.*
I don't know why that's so funny to me.

Rose Scar Yeah, I’ll take the funny option during a story dialogue that won’t effect my social score either way, but not maximizing social points means potentially having to expend the most valuable resource in the game (and real world) time.
@@InquisitorThomas fair in some regards, but im still gon a choose the more efifencent route, esp in games and dialoge, just how i am, beisdes imo, while some of those choices are admitly funny, most of them are not to me, sounds like stuff your little brother would say, or you're trying to be that one dude who constantly says stupid stuff to be funny, but it isn't really funny, plus some of them just seem super random or out of place esp during serieous moments, time and place for every thing

Yeah, because the anime is a thing and ignores most of his in-game dialog options, compared to the Persona 4 anime that completely embraced the absurdity of some of Narukami's choices

Joker is an avatar, he has no personality; the one we believe is "canon" is just a type of character that we all are placing on him.
The creator of the game themselves said that in an interview, saying they went too far with Narukami (who has a proper personality thanks to the Arenas and the Dancing game), and that they don't want to make the same mistake with Amamiya.
As they said, the personality of Amamiya we all think it's the most accurate is only a part of the public unsconscious wich we, the fandom, are all ok with.
@@pit2992 partially true, but also partially wrong, even if the characters are seen as avatars there are reflections of how they view the world in the games themselves, this is more notable with Narukami and Minato/Makoto, where they have a distinctly different reaction to Tanaka's theme in their games, never mind seeing the general tone the character seems to edge towards from what kind of dialog options come up more frequently

The "Morgana, I choose you" option here is, I believe, a clever joke by the Japanese writers. Morgana's Japanese VA is Ikue Otani, who is the same woman who has done Pikachu's voice since basically the beginning of time.

I love how Joker tries to be hilarious to everyone else and straight up kinky with Takemi and Makoto
2:35 is really funny to me, with the way he so confident says "kiss the vent goodbye", kicks it and then the vent just falls down weakly in the opposite direction he kicked it.
It gives the feeling of someone ramming a door open, only to find out it wasn't even fully closed so it just flies open with no resistance and they end up falling over as soon as they get in.

This game does a great job of charctersation through dialogue options. Joker almost always has his “witty sarcastic” response or his “dry to the point” response, which really helps build up the type of person he is
