- Check out Grant's video for the actual glass making! goo.gl/kLFDxT
Check out Cody's Lab's video for how he purify the ingredients: • Purifying Glass Ingred...
After three previous failures at making glass from scratch, I upped the ante and enlisted the help of Cody and Grant to finally make this happen.

|| ABOUT ||
Today, getting what you need is as easy as a trip to the store. From food to clothing, energy, medicine, and so much more, Andy George will discover what it takes to make everything from scratch. His mission is to understand the complex processes of manufacturing that is often taken for granted and do it all himself. Each week he’s traveling the world to bypass the modern supply chain in order to harvest raw materials straight from the source. Along the way, he’s answering the questions you never thought to ask.

Grant Thompson will forever be remembered
RIP Grant Thompson, the king of random
2/3 people in this video are alive in August 2019. RIP Grant.
beautiful video! Makes me realize I really need to up my filming game.
So great to collaborate with you Cody!
+Cody'sLab your videos are beautiful and unique! You have a great personality and perspective!
Cody'sLab "tastes like soda ash so I'll believe it"
I would not have thought to tell you so, but I do see his videos are more beautiful than yours, for whatever reason.
Everyone, please watch my tiny nature videos. There is no talking in them. Shhh!
Cody'sLab loved this collab, my dudes!! :D
"Tastes like soda ash, so I believe it."
Yup, that's Cody.
"It tastes like soda ash so I belive it" clasic cody
Videos like these make me miss times when it wasn't 2020... but we gotta just keep pushing forward.. R.I.P Grant...
Andy: "...35% sodium sulphate, and the rest of it is mostly soda ash."
Cody: *Puts some on his tongue*
Cody: "Tastes like soda ash, so I believe it."
Never change, Cody. Never change.
I love the "This water is absolutely disgusting" *gives the salts to Cody*
*literally FIRST thing Cody does is he puts it in his mouth*
"Tastes like soda ash". As usual, Cody using his keen sense of taste to identify substances.
This Collab was so smart you had the good ingredients Cody knows how to purify and grant had access to extremely powerful heating things it's the perfect combo
Matthew Thompson Cody has a pretty good furnace but for more views grant pitched in
Jorge Aleman it's still not as good a grants his are really powerful his are good enough to melt glass
Cody has a more powerful furnace than Grants
Came here because of Cody, stayed because of Andy!! Love them both!
I am sad that Grant Thompson is dead R.I.P.
Thanks
@@juliawilcutt592 Thanks
How do you have so few subscribers compared to the other two? Your vids are super high quality, I mean fuck I feel like I'm watching something on the Discovery channel! Subscribed!
Thanks Man! Yeah, we're growing slowly but surely. But don't hesitate to give us a shout out to your peeps!

Yep. you got your view from me because of Cody. Dude is just awesome
Watched this, then the channel video, then the preservatives video...instant subscriber. I love the idea and what's more the production value is amazing, this channel is absurdly underrated.
idk some people were complaining about this channel going to how to make everything to how to make glass... i am actually loving this quest.
please, please, please! supply the chemistry equations on-screen! (it is difficult to process chemistry from audio, given that colloquial names vary and add confusion)
Silly Sad do you actually need them to recreate this because if not why haha
+Ethan Groberg> do you actually need [chemistry info]?
do you actually need to watch this video?
to understand it better and probably have the satisfaction of learning something interesting
The effort you've put it over the years is unbelievable; when you have a million subs at the end of the year it'll be well deserved
This project really puts modern conveniences in perspective. So cool we got it to work!

Thank you!
Never heard of this guy before. I'm surprised I haven't seen any of his videos in my recommended feed, because this is pretty cool stuff, so I'm glad he's doing a colab with other people I'm subbed to.
This is the colab I was waiting for! Perfect
The lake smells bad because of all the purple sulfate-reducing bacteria (you can see the bacterial mats at 3:34). As their name suggests, they reduce odorless sulfate to noxious sulfide as part of their anaerobic metabolism. One example sulfide is the sulfur equivalent of water, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and smells like rotten eggs. Other sulfides smell pretty bad too. The malodorous smell from pulp and paper plants mostly comes from sodium sulfide (Na2S).
That make sense, thanks!
YES!!! I WANTED YOU TO MAKE A VIDEO WITH GRANT THOMPSON!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
Please do more with Cody in the future.
I've been waiting for this collab!
I've been WAITING for this collab. 😍
3 of my favorite CZcamsrs come together to tackle a challenge you've been trying to solve for many videos? :D sign me up!
You are so dedicated and your videos are both nicely editted and very interesting. Keep it up!
We need more videos like this. I swear this channel deserves more subscribers and views!

Good job guys. Very informative and well made.
Cody: is given the composition of a substance in reference to scientific report.
Also Cody: eats it to tell you what it's made of
The fact that this video exists makes me so happy
OH man getting closer! I'm sure it's exhausting and exciting at the same time!
Why is this so mesmerizing
Dude! Glad to see someone from the hometown.
Love the collaboration with you guys!!!!
You should do a 'making electricity from scratch' video
+TheBlapman Good Idea! What do you think should be our fuel source?
How To Make Everything wind, water, or sunlight, but I think sunlight would be too difficult, but I think you would figure it out!
perhaps trying to make a battery from natural chemicals and metals. That would be very interesting.
Maybe with Steam
TheBlapman nice
I love collaboration videos! I'm going to watch Cody and Grant's vids next.
Thank you for not giving up on making clear glass. :-)
Awesome! Three of my favourite channels collaborating. This is great. :)

rest in peace grant thompson
I respect this man so much.
just came across your channel today and absolutely love it, I love acquiring knowledge that would help me make a better life for my family if and when the zombie apocalypse hits lol
In Jamestown Virginia there are guys who blow glass and are extremely knowledgeable about how the early settlers produced it from the very sand along their shores.
Yay Yay Yay finally you guys are uploading this
This is my favorite video yet
Here from Cody's channel, great collaboration and you have a new subscriber!
I really enjoyed the collaboration of my favorite channels
This is the best Science collab ever.
Dude this is incredible!
I was sent by Cody, can't wait to see the collection process
HTME traveled across the country, Cody literally created the essential ingredients for the glass,
And Grant had a furnace... Wait doesn't Cody have an actual... legit... furnace?
+Ethan Owens His doesn't get quite hot enough to make regular glass. That's why he also tried the glass with lead flux, as it has a lower melting point within his kiln's ability
Ooh, kk.
k
How To Make Everything your the CZcamsr of all time
Holy hell, this is a collab made in heaven!
quality channel and content you have here. I wish you all the best !
I would genuinely love to get hold of you guys for a few weeks and sort your posture. Don’t get me wrong, most people have some dysfunction; you’re not broken. But I’d guarantee you have neck, shoulder and back pain or impingement. If not now then later. Anyhoo, love all three of you, especially you and Cody, so great video lads.
One really old way that was used to get glass with a flat surface, for items such as windows, was to use relatively dense, molten metals to give the glass a hot surface to "float" on and flatten out. If the three of you ever get back together to retry this project, try flattening the glass on molten tin or lead. This may give it a tint though
That's some next level networking my friend.
love both you and cody
Nice timing with cody's lab😏👌🏻
RIP Grant
Wow.this video really looks like it took a lot of work to make.Great video.
Came here from Cody's lab video and your channel seems very interesting- SUBSCRIBED!
Please collab with Cody more!
Good info. Thanks for sharing!
You make GREAT videos. Keep it up!
Lol, if the highway patrol ever checked out his car. 'What do we have here Mr. Wizard?'
Great video
Hey, can you make a human soul? i kinda sold one
from the majority of the comments insulting Grant on this channel seems like a lot of people lost their's soul.
Cody's probably crazy enough to make one

I miss TKOR
MY TWO FAVORITE CZcamsRS AHHHH!!!! I fucking love Cody 😋
Came over here from Cody. Damn your editing is so nice and so much information put in. Subbed :)
Squad goals
HTME is finally getting the recognition it deserves from a collab! You should do collaborations with other people! I bet most of the big like "building/experiment" channels would love to do some if they took a look at your vids. Maybe like Tested, or backyard scientist, or like Vsauce. Mark Rober would fit your channel demographic very well. William Osman is someone who would work very well with some of your videos, but the problem is he's a small channel like yours, as with Peter Sripol. You are the only channel on youtube that does this style of videos, but everyone who watches your videos seems to like them. Keep doing exactly what you're doing, but try and get more people to do it with you.
Great images and awesome video
Never realized how difficult it is to make pure glass. How did the Romans do it? How did the later Italians perfect the technique? Fascinating! (and today we take it for granted)
