From the comedic mind of Tina Fey comes a new twist on the modern classic, MEAN GIRLS. New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called “The Plastics,” ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (Reneé Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika). However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina’s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself prey in Regina’s crosshairs. This just doesn’t translate the way the original mean girls did when I was young they really made the school look like it’s still the 90s when in reality things have changed so much since the original mean girls they really should’ve took in a modern take versus just remaking old jokes with new characters..

She wore a black shirt during the scene when the Burn Book photos were shown to all the students but she had blue jeans on as well. If you look back and watch the movie she didn’t once wear all black. Plus pink is her color

@@mickeymoose2583Regina would wear black in certain places but never all black. All black is associated with: goths, edgy ppl, ppl who take themselves seriously, emotionally closed off ppl. Regina would be unpopular if she displayed any of those traits and wore colors that emphasized that.
Also, all black is trying too hard. Regina wearing pink and being the Queen Bee of the school is a statement in of itself. Feminine Superiority.

The fact that it’s a remake of the broadway show, Renee Rap was recasted as Regina, they show multiple dance scenes, and it starts in song with “my name is Regina Georgeeeee” and y’all STILL didn’t know it was a musical is beyond me. Not to mention when you google showtimes it says Comedy/Musical directly under the title. 🤦🏽♀️

I know that Regina is one of the most iconic characters to have ever existed, but why is Cady, the actual main charakter, basically not even part of 90% of the trailer? Like, the conversation she has in the beginning in maths class, seems totally random and strange, especially if you haven't seen the original. I'm just confused. Also, 2 seconds of the cast dancing doesn't make it obvious, that this is a musical.

Why was the necessary to make and even plan to make. Even if its based on the Broadway version, the broadway version was a off screen adaption! It doesnt then need to be transfered to film! This is a movie nobody asked for and a film no body wants. Take it away. Cancel it. This looks dumb as hell. The only funny thing about this, is that the faculty are all the same people. They had to do that to give it a throwback feel that would lure people in to see. If they need tricks to get people to go watch, automatically a bad movie. Its like putting in shiney stuff to make people think they have interest coz its all sparkly
That's not exactly true. The Broadway show has a lot of fans who wants to see this. Many musical theatre fans were excited about this movie when it was announced. It wasn't until the trailer dropped that people started to complain. So yeah there is a target audience, which is musical theatre fans. And maybe some fans of the movie could be into the idea of a mean girls musical if it was marketed that way. But if people are not interested, than there's nothing to be upset about. Just don't watch it.
Everyone has goals in life, things they dedicate a lot of time and energy to, not for others but for themselves. Let’s not forget Tina Fey is human too. If this new version makes her happy and satisfied with her craft then as a fan I’m all for supporting it. Let her have her time in the spotlight again for a new generation. Who knows maybe this new version has something that is able to reach out to a troubled teen or parent out there that just needs something positive or funny to give them hope or encouragement.
