    This is a pure beast of a knife. It has a wicked edge and functional recurve shape. And stays sharp.

    Nice! That was a LOT of oyster mushrooms!

      You bet. They were actually growing on a stump of a cottonwood which is not really visible due to lots of water being in this area and the dirt i think has covered it over time. They are probably some of the best tasting wild oysters i've ever picked anywhere around the globe LOL. Needless to say they were quickly gobbled up!

    How does the recurve section carve? Can you make feathers and notch? Thanks--good looking blade

      Firstly thanks for watching and commenting. The best knives I have ever come across for raid notching, which will easily take a standard paracord diameter and or 4mm static climbing accessory cord is made by the back saws of ONLY the Aitor knives with their proprietary saw back design (see my videos ). The recurved section of this blade works like any other recurved blade and that it provides a rapid and effective cutting if say the following is done: You grab a bunch of fibrous material such as but not limited to: grass; dead ferns; cordage (both synthetic and natural cords), place it against that recurved region and draw the knife across it, with physics at play it will cut these things better and quicker than a straight edge, some exceptions being for quality blade serrations.
      Making feathers, the best grinds are going to be scandi, this is not a scandi, however on saying this, making good feathers is very much dependent upon the wood type as in knotty or or knotty, how dry and the grain structure. Many on YT I'm afraid do not do what I usually do and that is randomly pick a piece of wood and attempt to feather it, most use processed timber and the reason is because they know it will work for many knives regardless of the grind. The last time I looked, I could find no timber from the hardware store in the bush LOL.

      it's pretty tough steel not sure the hole would weaken it so much as it's a crazy 8mm thick LOL but i take your point!

    Excuse me but is this a special version? I don't understand English well, maybe you said it but the Little Evil ones currently on sale are in S600 not in S601 by uddheholm....

      This was a prototype I had for testing prior to the actual release of the production model. Some things were changed on the production model such as the handle, to make it better such as a slight modifications to the grip shape. he may have changed the steel selection too.

    How do you like the little evil in comparison to the lanzetta?

    • @BushCampingTools
      @BushCampingTools  Před rokem +1

      The Lanzetta is much lighter in the blade and thinner for better chopping power of softer materials, high flexibility; as in being able to cut with one blow through jungle-like vegetation and at slicing. The Little evil is pure toughness with great chopping power for hardwoods (cut of course-splitting etc. I think off hand it is slightly shorter than the Lanzetta; the thicker spine, one can use it to hammer nails, beat down on "things" and probably (although i don't recommend for any knife, light levering). How he hardens and tempers the SK85 is pretty damn good and also he does a great job of the Little Evil's tool steel as well. Both hold a good edge. I think those who like thick spines the Little evil will win out over the Lanzetta but those who want like a mini machete will prefer the Lanzetta.
