  • We've been repairing the S2000 Pulley noises for years.
    We figured we'd share how easy it is and offer the Bearing in the store
    The OEM pulley doesn't really have issues, just the bearing.
    A new OEM Pulley is $75-$80.
    The new Bearing from the LHT Store
    We now have the Nachi Bearing !

    I’m saving your how to videos!! My brother knew everything about his s2k and showed me your channel A LONG time ago. Since his passing I’m trying my best to learn more about this car and the tips tricks to work on them. We used to watch your channel together. Up to me now to maintain his car.     As usual excellent video, saved me some money and good tips for removal and checking of the bearings, only issue i had was the revers thread torque setting, i didn't have a reverse Torque wrench...... But do now !!!!! thanks again from the UK!!

    Very informational to me. I know how to do that job now on the s2000. I know now the top pulley is left handed threads. Great product, that is the way to go. Do it myself and save myself from the garage bill if it ever happens. My 2001 S2k is at 37,000 yet. Thanks to you and your crew. 😊

    Great video like always. One little tip I learned a long long time ago which you can do of you wanted is to make these bearings last even longer. If you pop the seal off one side, then take some synthetic grease or white grease on your finger and pack it inside the bearing and put the seal back on,, it works fantastic. You can see how little grease is In these bearings when they're made.

    I’m surprised to see no anti seize in use. I’ll keep that in mind. My 88 y/o dad passed a little while ago. I have purchased his red ‘06 w 60k on the clock from my siblings. I look forward to doing a few of these simpler things myself. Someday I will tow the car to you and have it gone over good and proper. Sadly I am located as far as one can get from you while remaining in the contiguous 48. C’est la vie.

      There’s no reason to use anti seize in a place with that’s not in a corrosive area. We typically use it on the lower portion of the car, that’s in the weather

    exact type of content I'm looking for....I enjoy it all, but I prefer to do my own work with stuff like this. I have a slight mistrust of dealerships or shops, especially if they would be working on my S2000.

    Thanks for all the great videos. I live in western Canada and I only get to drive my 2000 S2000 a few months/year. In the spring the steering is really stiff. I have been told that its probably the steering torque sensor. The sensor is no longer available, but the manual says it can be regreased. I would love to see how you would tackle this procedure. Thanks again for all your great videos!

      We’ve done the re grease on the this part several time but unfortunately it only seems to last more than 2-3 months and than continues.

    I bought the two bearings from you and replaced them. The hardest part was taking the air filter box off. I polished and waxed the two pulleys and the engine bay. Now for the air box. Thank you for doing this video. Total cost $28 parts, $17.50 for a 30 mm socket, and the fan belt

      The Honda dealership wanted $250 for labor, If I supply the parts. They do nice work. I replaced the steel or brass bearing inserts. $17.00. Thank you for making the training video

      Just make sure it’s a good quality bearing. We’ve tried a cheaper brand and it lasted 6 months.

    Did this same exact thing on my ex Tacoma Prerunner a while ago, it was sounding like squeaky birds. Used 2 NSK bearings. Saved a lot of money too!
    Please do a rear-main-seal and trans-input-shaft seal tut. 👏 (like, what you do during a clutch install)
    Does the trans-input-shaft seal require trans-case disassembly? Or, is it just a similar procedure as the rear-main-seal?? 🤔

    I worked in parts for 7 years in high end dealerships(non related) but my idle pulley was making a sound almost like a bad rod bearing and got the last one; their on back order now. Wanted to replace the whole thing just due to it sitting for so long. So as of now you can only get the bearings lol. No eta on Backorder for the pulleys.

      We install a lot of these. Once you do a valve adjustment its sometimes more noticeable, how loud the pulleys are. And the metal part of the poly typically doesn’t go bad, it’s just the bearing. The bearings are going to save people a lot of money. And we use the best possible bearings , they should last a long time to.

      @@LHTPerformance yeah i have the other pulley to replace and will be buying the bearings. car has 150k still original clutch..got her with 19k miles. when I was in orlando I really wanted to bring it out to you guys for a few issues but im up by tail of the dragon now. we'll cross paths soon!

      Yes. Mask off the area the belt rides on. Also the large washer / dust cover can be painted. We now have the Serpentine belts too.

      No. The bearings are the same. The configuration is different

    In your video you mentioned a 30mm socket and in another video by someone else they used a 1 1/8 socket. There’s quite a bit of difference.
    Which one is the closest one?

      As long as it contacts the out race. I use whatever is available, just don’t contact the bearing surface.

      31 ft lbs. I just did my bearings this morning, so the value is still fresh in my mind.

      With a 14mm socket. The tensioner is a left hand thread

      Im pretty sure they do.They fit the idler pulley for sure.

      Most likely. Remove the tension off the belt and feel the pulley. It will tell you right away
