I think Leo timed his oscar, to have the sense of desperation among his fans and then finally get it.. look at the way people talk about oscar neeeds Leo. It just boosted his legendary status.
He was never robbed off of an Oscar. Unfortunately, he's always been beat by an actor who had a better performance. 1) 2005 was the closest he came to winning it. But Jamie Foxx depicted Ray extremely well 2) 2007 - Forest Whittaker was way better 3) 2014 - Mcconaughey was better. 4) 2016 - An average performance from Leo. But he was the best amongst the nominees, so won it.
Fuck you, if you wanna be rich you gotta be a bitch. I will steal from the poor as fast as I go from 0 to a 100 in my vanquish, while my wife is reading me a story. I don't give a single fuck, about anyone. This is the world, nobody gives a fuck about anyone but himself and his customers. If you don't realise that you will not be a successful businessman.
I love how he's telling his brokers to convince their clients to get rich while he's convincing them they'll get rich by doing so. There's always a bigger fish
Whoever did a sales job in their life could relate this epic scene to the most. There's a reason why the richest people in this fucking world says " you need to do sales in your 20's"
I’ve worked in sales almost all my life…when I started in a boiler room type job it was very much like this. Not too funny in real life but funny to watch in this movie for sure!
I'm not joking. That scene when Leo trains them and says whoever speaks first after laying the bait loses....a bit rusty on the dialogue. Anyways, this one Indian was showing off to the new employees, he tried that line and laid his bait, he then puts his phone on mute and tells the employees wait and watch, the customer will speak first...He kept waiting, the customer didn't respond. I laughed
Now think about it, to be the counterpart and you have to perfoem and react. If you fail the scene, man I dont know what Leo would do. He is so focused and committed.
Honestly, I imagine working with Leo to be quite easy and enjoyable. I mean just listen to his speech, his passion and excitement is infectious. I couldn't help but stay in character.
