About two thousand years ago Jesus climbed up to a high place, corralled a crowed that included his disciples, and gave a talk that would change the world forever.

Breath, strength to help, a clarity to see a need
God’s plan saved me and delivered me. And the next best part is that anyone can join me (us)! Sermon on the Mount: how to live in Jesus Kingdom while living in the world… “what’s the best thing that can happen?” In other words, what can God do with this situation?
I have a God who loves me no matter what; a warm home (it is 7 degrees here in Ohio) and John is back to share God's wisdom with me(us) :)

I have a God who will never leave me and who loves me; I have friends and family that genuinely care about me, all my basic needs are met.
* Blessed: My beautiful bride and I are starting our 50th year together - deeply happily married!
* Blessed: Our children and grandchildren all live close to us and we get to see them often!
* Blessed: We are part of a church community which is profoundly committed to compassion, others-oriented, self-sacrificial love and helping its membership grown in and live out their created purpose of imaging God’s character, His love and light into the world in which He has placed within the scope of our influence. Let-love-live!
I feel blessed with good health, for the people the Lord put in my life to serve, and acceptance from the Lord.
I have much to be thankful for and I am truly blessed. I am blessed to be retired, I am blessed with family and friends, I am grateful for technology that makes it possible for me to have access to the Become New series (for over two years). I am blessed to be a child of God.

Good morning! A year ago this month I was recovering from a double mastectomy. Looking back I can see it as a strangely wrapped gift that allowed me to see where God is showing up in my life. I am blessed every day I wake up. His mercies really are new every morning! I am blessed by family. Sons and daughters in law who show their love for me, even as my husband of 46 yrs is now in a nursing home. And God continues to bless me with a job I love. Indeed my soul has been stretched through grief and suffering “blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.”
Blessed beyond measure! Because my God is an awesome God. Nothings perfect, but everything is fine. Blessed!
I have been blessed first of all by the presence of Christ in my life. Second, by my family who has always been by my side when I need them. I have so many more than just three blessings, but for my third I choose the blessing of the ability I have to help others - for there was a time when I was so broke or so sick I could barely help myself. Now I see that I don't have to worry if I have enough money to pick up groceries for my neighbor or enough time to stop in the aisle at Walmart to offer a word of encouragement. Thank you Lord!
🙏🏻Blessed to wake up to quiet and Scriptures. 🙏🏻Blessed to be loved by and to love my husband, children and grandchildren. 🙏🏻Blessed to belong to my church which is another kind of fellowship of the withered hand. We are struggling but oh how we love one another. 💖
What a beautiful way to start the New Year -2024-
By counting my many blessings- husband’s health after various surgeries, family- near and far, children, grandchildren, dear friends and God suppling all our needs. And this new series on ‘the Sermon on the Mount’ to remind me it all comes from God the Father, Jesus his son and the Holy Spirit. Thank you John, Nancy ,Tim and team at Become New - you all are such a wonderful Blessing!!!

Truth be told, I didn’t realize the “golden rule” shaped all the principles mentioned in the Sermon on the Mount. But as I can see, it truly does. And my hope and prayer is that we all see what Jesus wants us to see in both straightforward and complicated ways how we are, in His eyes, blessed.
We start where we are, and let Him take us on the trip to wherever He leads. Peace out, sisters & brothers!

I’m so glad John is back! My blessings…..a job where I get to love children all day, friends who love Jesus and me, and a God who will never leave nor forsake me.
I am blessed to have family and friends in my life. I am blessed to have Jesus with me in this life. I am blessed to live in Canada.
I am blessed to have a warm shelter this cold day and plenty of food to eat; to spend time with God everyday and read his Word; to help and interact with my grandkids regularly.
Last month, I lost my husband of 35 years. I have been blessed with a large church family, who have stepped up to comfort and walk with me through this. I’ve also been blessed with wonderful memories of our life together. Mostly, I’ve been blessed with my faith that’s keeping me strong through this.
I am so sorry for your loss! It’s beautiful to hear ways you are seeing blessings in the midst of it. My heart is for you!!

To have learned through the teaching of Dallas Willard, John and others that the beatitudes are not a list of things I must do or become to be blessed, but rather Jesus teaching about the real state of things was as jarring as it must have been to the disciples and the crowd. The kingdom of heaven was available to them and it is to me. I am blessed right where I am, in my circumstances.
After the Christmas / New Year break we've been looking forward to sitting down with our morning coffee and listening again to John. And what a great way to start the new year with the Sermon on the Mount - thanks all

I had to work hard at that understanding. My experience with John Ortberg is that he is skilled at making Dallas’ teachings easier to understand.

I have to put my cat down today, just another loss in a prolonged season marked by even more significant, heart wrenching losses. I've hardly had time to adequately grieve one before there's another. And yet...I woke up in a warm house in 20F weather that will get even colder tonight. I have family & friends who are but a phone call away. I have a job through which I can impact young people as I teach in a public school. And daily, whether through Become New videos or some other source, God plants messages of hope and encouragement in my day. I have but to look and listen for them. Most recently, my principal asked if we could reschedule an event (an event that was stressing me beyond my capacity), and I could see the hand of God all over that email releasing me from an obligation so I could find rest. Sometimes He blesses us by taking something away.

I am a big fan of becoming new. I have been tuning in for about 1 1/2 years. I have recommended it to many people who are now faithful listeners. I love that I now have a group of friends all over the country that talk regularly about the things we have learned and are trying to live out. Thank you John and team for all you do!
Sometimes I don’t understand why I have been blessed so very much when others have very little. Grateful indeed. Here are a few big ones.
1. Blessed to have been born is the US and not some third world country. I’ll never understand this one.
2. Blessed to have spent the past 4 days with just my brother and sister ❤
