This guy was Hollow knight's solaire. He was always so happy to be exploring the world and always seemed to be one step ahead of you. And by the end he was the closest thing to your friend
We don't see what happened to him but I think he killed himself in the Blue Lake, since he has zero purpose in life anymore and he loved the Blue Lake. :(

Is Hornet a higher being tho? The team cherry reddit suggests that rest of the vessels, including the smol knight we control lost their memories before coming into hallownest. The only things that set Hornet apart from the vessels are that a) she is not void and b) she has Herrah, the beast as her mother instead of the White lady(who IS the higher being). So I guess the amnesia thing really depends on other factors we will never know.

@@ttracsbesides we know Quirrel was already a trusted assistant of Monomon when Hornet was barely born, she had the time to become i'll say a young adult at least. We also know time affect Hallownest bug differantly when outside the Kingdom (for example our Vessel despite being a young one that most definitly spent a few bug years outside the kingdom didnt grow eventhough like the rest of the discarded vessels they are all technically older brothers of THK or if younger not by much since production of new vessels pretty much stopped after the plan for the Kingdom failed). Quirrel was most likely already, not an old man but at the very least a young adult, who was given a mask with so much soul power within it overtook his memories for a while and kept him in his prime artificially most likely so he could protect it really. Would make sense that when he is twice as old, loses the artifact filled with enough soul to empower a spell to mess with his mind and keep him sharp, that he ages rapidly and die of old age.
@@erwannthietart3602 I don’t think the mask overtook his memories, I just think that when he left hallownest his memories faded just like the knight. When leaving hallownest, bugs lose the intelligence given to them by the pale king’s aura or afterglow.

There is a limit however, because the knight's hitbox and spritebox is very small, so creating bigger characters is impossible. Hornet is not only taller, but quicker than the knight, meaning she has a bigger hit/spritebox. After Silksong releases, a mod to add Quirrel is very possible, but an official DLC is very unlikely
He really feels like a friend. I mean, you see him everywhere and they are always willing to chat, unlike some of the other bugs you see. Quirrel is my second favorite character because of this.

And he just keeps looking from Ghost to the rain and back to Ghost. He really does care about them and I think that's really wholesome

The first time I played, I never even went to the blue lake after the breaking of monomons seal so In my second playthrough I'm currently doing, after doing all that, I went to the resting grounds and decided to go to the blue lake and saw his nail there...and I legit started tearing up *this game made me feel bad for a bug...an adorable bug at that*
During Uumuu fight: •*high pitched SCREEEEEEEEEEE*• Any other time: "Hello friend, I'm an old man but I don't know it yet!" :3 I think it's because during a battle, they (Quirrel and Hornet I mean-) can't scream in a low voice. I love the little details in the Uunum Fight. You're so focused on dodge the attacks that you don't even notice where's the damn jellyfish, but the moment you hear the Battle cry "KASSAH!" You know it's time to go on the offensive!
I used to be indifferent about Quirrel, I came to like him more when sitting with him in the City of Tears though. However, when I saw him help me during the Uumuu fight, is when I REALLY got to love him as a character. I wished I realized before, since the moments you spend with him after that are way too little…

Uumuu is still easily beatable in the pantheons, you just need to kill the big exploding jellyfish thingy and aim it at Uumuu so that it opens and you can damage it
No one says it’s going to be that easy, even after you beat it several times, you just need to practice more on wall jumps and staying a foot, and running away from the Uumuu and tiny xploding jellies and being able to maximize more damage on Uumuu
I really love this guy, like, so much, in my first try fighting uummuu i was about to die when this guy suddenly appeared and took the shit out of that jellyfish, allowing me to heal. Best character ever
F, wish that you could in some way prevent him form dying, and live a happy life, just like the Nailsmith, but we can't prevent it, other then just leaving him alone, without talking to him, forever...
Quirrel will always be the best of us, he wasn't just a solider exploring the abandoned ruins of Hallownest, he was a friend. That's what makes him one of the best characters in Hollow Knight
He sounds like in a mix of latin-root languages. During the fight with the giant jellyfish, specially (as a native spanish speaker) I heard some lines kinda interesting. When he says "Dekino, Dekiro" (or something like that), sounds kinda like "Te quiero, te quiero" ("I want you/like you" in spanish, it depends). Then, he attacks, saying "Kasaah!", that sounds like "Cazar!" (To hunt). So the whole battle for me was an epic resolve of Quirrel helping us, saying "Te quiero, te quiero... Cazar!" (I want, i want... To hunt you!), and that was pretty epic for me.
Quirrel has some of the funnest lines I just want to shout them back happily whenever he says them. Best character in any game. Like the father I never had.
It goes from when you first meet him, to when you see him in the Blue Lake. Then goes to the Uumuu fight. You can hear how his voice becomes more and more tired as you continue to travel and speak with him.
he sounds as if he's speaking Korean and the hunter always seemed to be speaking French o.0 (and Hornet sounds Japanese, which might be because the voice actress is actually Japanese...) I like the idea of a fantasy Korean, French and Japanese if that's what team cherry intended

Bretta and Quirrel are my absolute favorites. Both would make great spouses most likely. Am a Bretta kind of girl, and also a Quirrel kind of girl. In my mind, Quirrel lives on forever.

The first time I played, I never even went to the blue lake after the breaking of monomons seal so
In my second playthrough I'm currently doing, after doing all that, I went to the resting grounds and decided to go to the blue lake and saw his nail there...and I legit started tearing up

The same is with Hornet. Their voices go more high pitched in the fights. But if you listen you can tell it's the same voice actor.
It's beacause of the adrenalin makimg their voices high pitched.

I think it's because during a battle, they (Quirrel and Hornet I mean-) can't scream in a low voice. So you they to raise their pitch in order to be heard corectly. Idk... :/

I love the little details in the Uunum Fight. You're so focused on dodge the attacks that you don't even notice where's the damn jellyfish, but the moment you hear the Battle cry "KASSAH!" You know it's time to go on the offensive!

I used to be indifferent about Quirrel, I came to like him more when sitting with him in the City of Tears though. However, when I saw him help me during the Uumuu fight, is when I REALLY got to love him as a character. I wished I realized before, since the moments you spend with him after that are way too little…

Uumuu is still easily beatable in the pantheons, you just need to kill the big exploding jellyfish thingy and aim it at Uumuu so that it opens and you can damage it

No one says it’s going to be that easy, even after you beat it several times, you just need to practice more on wall jumps and staying a foot, and running away from the Uumuu and tiny xploding jellies and being able to maximize more damage on Uumuu

Quirrel will always be the best of us, he wasn't just a solider exploring the abandoned ruins of Hallownest, he was a friend. That's what makes him one of the best characters in Hollow Knight

He sounds like in a mix of latin-root languages.
During the fight with the giant jellyfish, specially (as a native spanish speaker) I heard some lines kinda interesting.
When he says "Dekino, Dekiro" (or something like that), sounds kinda like "Te quiero, te quiero" ("I want you/like you" in spanish, it depends). Then, he attacks, saying "Kasaah!", that sounds like "Cazar!" (To hunt).
So the whole battle for me was an epic resolve of Quirrel helping us, saying "Te quiero, te quiero... Cazar!" (I want, i want... To hunt you!), and that was pretty epic for me.
I heard the "te quiero" part too and was always like "I love you too Quirrel " 🥹

Seeing him in deepnest really made me sigh of relief.
Quirrel has some of the funnest lines I just want to shout them back happily whenever he says them. Best character in any game. Like the father I never had.
It goes from when you first meet him, to when you see him in the Blue Lake. Then goes to the Uumuu fight. You can hear how his voice becomes more and more tired as you continue to travel and speak with him.
I always look forward to hearing that friendly "Na minobis" whenever greeting him.
His battle cries are the best thing
he sounds as if he's speaking Korean and the hunter always seemed to be speaking French o.0 (and Hornet sounds Japanese, which might be because the voice actress is actually Japanese...) I like the idea of a fantasy Korean, French and Japanese if that's what team cherry intended
