- Hollow Knight with such loveable characters and impressive environment and mechanics connects to your soul on a different level, to the point where you even enjoy the smallest tomfoolery. So let's listen to the soothing song of Marissa while smacking the hell out of a crooked banker Millibelle, then toss the skulls of Nosk, villagers and Zote, and spank Bardoo's big bum while also slapping the belly of grub grandfather. But the mischief continues at hot spring and when you collect your reward from the trial of fools. Don't forget the flower for elder and a seat with a maiden and a warrior quirrel. Never forget to bow to the masters but do not try your blow on the guardian of the restring ground. Once you delivered flower to Oro, check up on his brother Sheo and his better half Nailsmith.
Most importantly, learn all Zote's 57 percepts by heart.

I always like to put on a show whenever the opportunity comes. During the grimm fight I bow at the beginning, during the coliseum fights I'll bow then c-dash to show power, during the pantheons I will swing my nail in the air after every fight until the end, where I give a bow. After mantises will bow, really any combat situation that's less just survival and more for honor I will do my best to show that honor.

I can't lie, i actually endured all of zote's "principles" hoping in an achievement at the end... After i didn't get one i immediately started a new game just to let him die
zote never dies, he just teleports to another plane of existence
I haven't actually met Zote in the game yet, since I somehow missed when you first find him and have to save him. When I eventually found his shell later on, I just went "huh, funny shell easter egg thing???" And messed around with it for a bit. After reading the wiki, I now realize my mistake.
What's ironic is you do get an achievement for letting him die.

I would argue giving the flower to elder bug is necessary. He’s the first bug that doesn’t try to kill us, he has told us all he knows in the hopes of helping us on our quest, and has asked for nothing in return.

if you get an ending for giving a flower to Godseeker then there is no reason to not have an ending for giving a flower to Elderbug

Update: I DID IT!
I'll tell you this, I'm glad there isn't an achievement. It just feels now the way it should, I think; that this trip was for the Elderbug, and just because he deserves something nice. Not for a cheevo.
I am so pissed off that. On my first time through when I knew nothing about the game, my friend convinced me to kill Marissa. He told me that doing that would get me lots of lore stuff. I didn't want to kill her, bit at the same time I wanted lore stuff. So I killed her, which then my friend proceeded to call me a horrible person for doing so. I am still pissed off by that to this day.

I did it because I was still learning about how the dreamnail works. It's really frustrating that the game doesn't tell you who will disappear forever if you dreamnail them, you just have to figure it out. I would never have done that if I'd known.

giving elderbug the flower unlocks the sweetest dialog
Giving Elder Bug the flower is 1,000,000% more important than defeating the Radiance. His happiness comes first, Hallownest can wait

I dreamnailed everyone in the game, even the poor souls in the resting grounds, but I couldn't ever dreamnail Cloth or Marissa

I like how all of these things are genuinely unnecessary but it's what makes the game so endearing in my opinion. It brings the story and the characters to life in a way
Marissa is one of the most memorable moments of the game for me. To me Hollow Knight was all about the adventure. The little moments were just as important as the fights, it made the game all the more rewarding
I love that the game that makes you go crazy can also be so wholesome from making you want a scream after trying to kill a boss to just chilling with bugs and giving them a flower
I'm still so mad that you can only give one nail master the flower. Mato, Sly, and Sheo (and nailsmith!!) deserve flowers, too. :<
Also I *really* wanted to give one to the old stag. Imagine how cute that would be!! He could wear it on his saddle. Plus Iselda deserves one.

The flower gets destroyed by riding on stags though, so maybe a special protection spell before giving it to him hehe

The reason why I love this part of Hollow Knight so very much is that it speaks more than anything else to the possibility of the Knight having a personality. The fact that there are options to sit with Quirrel, to juggle shells, to be a dick at the hot spring, all of the choices that are available (and the ones you choose to do) are, to me, examples of options that are only available because the Knight WANTS to do them. I have so much love in my heart for this fucking creature

Keep in mind, we have the dream nail, which grants us the ability to see ghosts in certain spots in the game. So basically it would look like ghost is just staring at nothing
I understand the very well-made and edited comedic value of this video, but these are some of the things I treasured most in this game. I’ll never forget how I felt the first time doing them.

You forgot trying to descend down into the abyss without hitting any platforms on your way to the bottom. You can also use descending dark for style points.

I personally like 2 think all these "unnecessary" things show off the Knights personality more! They're not hollow, they still do. Well childlike things like splashing in the hot springs, playing with the various skulls they find, just sitting and hanging out w various characters. It makes them feel a little more real :]

Fun fact: Millibelle can't actually see or hear Marissa because you need the Dreamnail for that. So what's happening from Millibelle's perspective is that the Knight kicked her down the stairs into a corner of that dark, empty room down there, and then sat down between her and the exit and just... _stared_ at her.
