What if Megadeth's Holy Wars was on ...And Justice For All? | Metallica Album Crossovers

- Five months in the making, and I'm incredibly proud of the final result. This project, a rendition of Megadeth's 'Holy Wars' in the style of Metallica's 'And Justice For All', is perhaps the best-mixed and mastered work I've ever created to date. During the process, I explored new techniques, departing from heavy EQ matching that I'd used in previous 'What If' projects. The outcome is a track, I feel, that's fresh and unique in its own way.
Throughout the song, I've hidden various 'AJFA' Easter eggs for you to discover, and maybe a little classical lick too. see if you can spot them all!

Sounds straight out of an alternate timeline where Dave never got kicked out
Oh man at least we get to experience that to some degree
I think it was for the better however, my god that would of been absolute domination
Sounded like riff wen-king after a while
If Dave never left and Cliff never died I wonder….and you know Metallica does too
All the kill em all stuff was written before cliff joined so the only real example of a Mustaine / Burton song would be When Hell Freezes Over later renamed The Call of Ktulu and that's a pretty damn good example of things that could have been

This is actually insane. It really does sound like it, only a huge Metallica and Megadeth Nerd/Fan would know how to make something like this. Big props to you. I've never been this happy about a fan made Band/Song crossover.
I respectfully request to do the entire album in this fashion. Badass!!

Absolutely!
The fact that this is consistently sounding like Metallica AND Megadeth the entire way through, I'm severely impressed, the guitar work especially at the start was super standout to me, the way you alter riffs to mimic AJFA mannerisms will never cease to be a joy to listen to

Except...there's audible bass. :D
Right?! Like how tf is this possible?
I for one welcome our AI overlords. However, this has a way to go on vocals. Sounds too Mustainey (unless that was what Bryce is going for). Check out Metallica Chasing Light - Ride the Lightning tone by SOSO and Greenmile. They re-sang the vocals from scratch and fed the resulting isolated vocals into a RTL optimized James model. The vocals are almost verbatum RTL (and the track absolutely slaps). I think on this one Bryce is running actual Mustaine's Holy Wars vocals through a AJFA James model. To get closer to true AFJA James I think he has to re-sing the song himself in a style more closer to how James would actually sing it and then feed it through that AFJA James model.

Megadeth tries to be overly complex and i think they do really good in some cases, but others they fall flat on their faces failing to establish a good rhythm because its too all over the place.
Even the way you did the riffs sounds more like something James and Dave would do together rather than on their own individually. Awesome job man.

So that's what it would have been if Dave Mustaine stayed in Metallica during the AJFA era? My God, this is amazing
The world weren't ready for this
No, it's what an AJFA song would have sounded like if James Hetfield had come up with the barebones musical ideas for Holy Wars before Dave.
@remnant24 If this came out before Dave could put the finishing touches, he'd be cussing at the whole world, claiming, "They stole my idea," like he does with some songs from the first 2 albums. I have Ride the Lightning to the Black album, then jumping all the way to their latest album. I've seen Dave's credits on Ride the Lightning on either a couple or some of the songs as the booklet states. It's a 2021 reissue, so if there are any issues with a 2021 copy, then the others before it are also. Dave would be livid to hear this back in '89 before he finished his rendition of the same song. Instead of just being bitter, he'd already be on lawsuit mode at this point.
@@lakerfan2874 Yeah possibly. Dave was in a dark place at the time (which was terrible for him but wonderful for us). Metallica seemed fair about crediting his part in the songwriting at least.
Dang, two massively talented massive egos just cannot exist in one band. But listen to it, if only that weren't true.
What a masterpiece. Would love to see the entire album of rust in peace in AJFA style alongside James' vocals.
This is so stupidly good, holy hell! Great guitar playing, composition, and production! I love when I come across a song-be it original or a cover-that just oozes with passion like this
