Laura´s Turbo Raft

- This week i changed my video plans last minute because i found a broken grass trimmer...turned out the gashose was ripped - an easy fix.
so i decided to build a raft that is propellerd by the grastrimmer.
it was much easier than i expected. i only had to rotate the shaft 180 degrees and form a new propeller because the blade would have been way to dangerous and not effective.
the raft was a pretty straight forward build as well. i didn´t calculate anything, i just figured it out as i went.
of course this isn´t very practical and i think the motor is too small to drive the raft for a longer period but it sure was a lot of fun and it was cool to see that it worked.
also i think i put a little too much oil in the gas...that´s why there was so much smoke :)
hope you enjoyed this video as much as i did!

see ya next week!

SORRY ABOUT THE DOUBLE LOGO IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER.
i didn´t understand how to properly brand my videos and now i can´t fix that unless i take the video down and upload it again which would delete all the comments, likes and clicks.
Creativity & innovative making skill brings Magic! Fabulous mid summer like dream watch. Thanks for sharing
4:40 : Dog is like "What did I get myself into now.."
I really like how your projects are both functional *and* sick-looking!
Summertime fun! You are so great - cheers, Steve aka The Talking Fly.
thank you, steve
The concept is marvelous. The realization is perfect. The testing is succesful and hilarious. Perfect video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
glad you enjoy it as much as i do
Ich bin echt beeindruckt. Ich hätte drauf gewettet, daß dich der Motorsensenturbo keinen Meter weit bringt. Ganz großes Kino! Chapeau!
+Michael Kieweg vielen dank!
Childhood memories and a tune stuck in my head for the rest of the day, thanks Laura! 😄😄
:)
She's a beautiful craft! That looks like a lot of fun, both to make and ride.
it sure was
Now that kicks all the other projects you shared out of the park!!! Beyond Awesome!!
thanks, nicholas
Great Build Video Laura. You did a great job on that raft, Brings back good memories... Thank you for sharing...
thanks!
Cool Build! Mixing mosquito controlling weed eater exhaust with S.E. Asia longboat propulsion brought back long ago memories. Tunes were toe tapping too!! Way to go!!
haha
Am I the only one who thought that someone was going to fall in? Or maybe Smudo would jump in....
Love it, another great video. Thanks for sharing!
haha, i was expecting to fall in any second...but it was a lot more stable than i though
amazing raft Laura you have blown my mind once again
awesome!
That motor is probably powerful enough if you have a better propeller shape. Thais use small motors attached to a similar shaft, called a "longtail", so it can be very practical. Lots of fun watching your enthusiasm. Your friends and Smudo must love your crazy inventions!!!
the thai long tail boats are a bit more dynamic in shape than my clumps raft :)
Can't help myself...: TURBOOOOOOO TIIIIIIIIME!
So, glad I got that out of my system. Great build, must've been fun! Thanks for sharing!
+Jan-Wijbrand Kolman hahaha
Wow Laura that was great . You did a wonderful job on both the making of the video and on the making of your raft . Thanks for sharing with us CZcams .
you are very welcome :)
It must be fun being a kid all day, that prop, the shovel pedal. . .priceless, you found your niche in life. you make great content!! thanks

A shovel for an oar , a grass trimmer for a motor and the laughs @5:02 says it all ...Nice summer time video , well done !!
haha
The amount of technics and coolness is this video is much too high. Awesome !

You are amazing! AND the raft floats 3 people and a Smudo! And don't forget the weed-wacker propulsion system...just like the boats in Thailand.

Nice raft, but, where's the turbo? Needs moah powah!!
The shovel oar is perfect. Awesome build!
Very cool! Many years ago a friend built a similar vessel using 55 gallon oil drums as pontoons and was able to fit a canopy on it for shade. It had two moters that never worked.
i have a huge oil drum flying around and since this project was so much fun i think i will do some water-related project with it as well
Jetski?

Nicely done happily used and Smudo! Oops, careful now, I see the safety folks sidle up to say "PPE - life preservers" and nearly spoil all the fun. Have a good week.

So aerodynamic. Such speed. Wow.
haha
Just like Junkyard Wars! Nicely done.

What great ingenuity! Totally awesome!!

Haha that was just too much fun! Your attention to detail is what makes your projects and videos stand out from the rest. Decalling those floaters is just the finishing touch! Great video.
thanks for appreciating my detail work! that is where the fun is for me
Long time ago! I'm for sure! I saw you! Because I remember your tattoos! 👀✌💟
That is awesome!! Love the raft!
thanks!
Turbo for sure! haha
Love the paint scheme
thank you!mthe paint job was really fun to do
Yeah! TURBO!!! WITH CAPTAIN CAPS errr Laura! :) Sorry, I couldn't resist... cool build and nice motor! ;) awesome how you improvised on the propeller...
thanks, kjell!
Very cool - I didn't know that you had wilderness like that in your area (similar to here in Canada). The propeller setup reminds me of those that you see in southeast Asia, a motor with a long shaft. Good build!
yes, we have a lot of nature in germany! thanks
Fun project ! I love it ! Thanks for the entertainment :)
Among other things, I loved the claw hammer...minus one claw. Reminds me of my dad, who would never give up on a tool.
never leave a man behind, right ? :)
too much oil mixed with gasoline! :) ciao Laura, ti seguo sempre!!!
She will put oil at 4%, the correct dose would be 2%...but was Turbo Raft!
io il mio decespugliatore lo faccio andare al 2,5 % con il sintetico
Stefano il Falegname si,2,5 è perfetto,l'importante è non esagerare ne in troppo ne in troppo poco!
came here from AVE to say the same XD, cool channel!
Rule of thumb is 2.5 oz. Per one gallon of gas
Te adoro, eres un genio, que divertido y tu perro confia plenamente en tu trabajo jajajajajaja, saludos de Chile
Very cool. Looks like a lot of fun!
it really was!
Great video and raft build, Laura.
thanks, steve

Got me an idea to float down the Rio Grande just need a lawn chair and a patio umbrella.cool thanks
There is no doubt how creative you are? Great work. The tattoos looks amazing too.
Thanks for sharing. Can you please make another video about tattoos?
Thanks
The most inefficiently powered raft in existence... but it's a powered raft :D Nice.
haha. it´s a start and it made us smile all day :)
Laura Kampf You could always turn this thing into a water bike. I'd like to see an original design of one.
Looks like a lot of fun! I have just discovered your channel and it looks wonderful - your videos are done so well :)
glad you like my work, jonathan!

Haha that's great, you're always doing something different!
trying my best to mix it up!
Haha love it! Really fun project :) all you need now is deckchair and some beer
we had the beer ...:)
Bliss :)
Very nice. I have two questions about propeller: 1, How did u balance angle of 4 fins/blades? I ask becoz I know if angles are not balanced (in air fans atleast) there are horrible vibrations. 2, Was propulsion force as you expected or less?
i dien´t balance them...just eye-level. i expected it not to much at all to be honest so i was surprised
Awesome!Fun project & great paint job ;)
thanks! i enjoyed the paint job the most :)
Cool project!
thanks, man
Great build, Laura! +colinfurze, Watch out, mate. Looks like you've got some new competition from Cologne.
haha, i think i have a lot to learn before i can compete with him :)
