    I have one, and after playing it for a few days I sold my Tele.
    Love this guitar, and will be buying another one as a back up for alternate tunings.

      what style is better to play with these guitars?

      I've been playing everything mate, though I'm not really a gearhead when it comes to guitars, so I just crank up the distortion if required. I do usually play any Led Zeppelin songs with it though, especially Ramble on

    I have a DC59. Use it in alternate tunings but it won't stay in tune. Wouldn't get rid of it though, its quirky and nice to have around.

    I have one. baby come back blue color. the bridge when adjusted for action makes it impossible to change a string or strings unless you loosen all the strings and raise the bridge. Not good if you break a string live. However, I love it anyway. sounds wonderful. I got mine on Amazon. The knobs need to have the center knob raised a bit, as they tend to otherwise turn together. No big deal. There is enough room beneath the guard to change it to four pots, instead of concentric. It's fast, easy playing, tonally wonderful.. and loud enough easily for unplugged practice.

    • @TWANGROCKS
      @TWANGROCKS Před 9 lety

      I should add.. raising the pickups you find they can tend to be loose. It was hard, but I put an extra bit of padding under each..this way I can get them as high as I think is best. the pots are 1M and 100K with different capacitor values for each. the tone pots tend to be useless until set very low and also tend to be less sensitive to changes than I like. I may try, if I mod to four pots, a 5K pot for tone instead of 10K. That would at least allow a more sensitive turning ratio. I will first check, using a meter-after setting the tone pots to where they do change, to make sure I have not gone under the sweet spot. I'll say again, I still love it.

      Hey friend I have trouble with my danelectro, when I play my high E string on the first fret it sounds like it's palm muted. Any thoughts?

    • @TWANGROCKS
      @TWANGROCKS Před 9 lety

      BLACKJACKDAVEYIII Usually if the string is hitting the 2nd fret when you play the first, it tends to buzz a bit, not sound dead. I would look first at the bridge saddle for the high E, to see if there's a burr.. so the string isn't coming off the bridge saddle cleanly-but that seems wrong, too, because other fretted high E notes would most likely also sound dead. Here are two links to read and see if they help> answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091023075707AA7PHxj and www.dummies.com/how-to/content/proper-hand-position-for-playing-guitar.html

    So honest opinion everyone which one is better the 59M NOS, or 59MJ. I've played the MJ and loved it but I havent played the 59M NOS yet. Any opinions on either guitar?

    what is the purpose of the two little screws at the very end of the bridge :^) you can see them if you pause 1:30

      @sadzidsmajkic6181 Před 5 lety

      I'm no guitar expert but it seems like they are holding the bridge in place when you remove the strings. Since the bridge is wraparound style, the string tension is keeping it in place, so I thing it's there to make changing strings a bit easier. I may be wrong tho.

    • @calinguga
      @calinguga Před 4 lety +1

      those are for intonation, a bit redundant here but very useful in fixed saddle bridges

    I have it, it's great for slide and open tuning stuff. It has a wide range of sound and it's comfortable and light. My only complaint it that you have to remove the bridge to change the strings and then reset the bridge height. A small price to pay for a great guitar

    • @TWANGROCKS
      @TWANGROCKS Před 9 lety

      I am considering putting some grooves in the pup side of the bridge because of this.. the thing is you have to loosen all the strings to raise/lower the bridge, too, which makes this a pain.

      Maafa 1619
      You clearly know little about what really makes a guitar worth playing, rather than posing with in front of the mirror. Which is GREAT! It leaves all the more for those of us who have more than a clue!

    • @andynewzealand6440
      @andynewzealand6440 Před 9 lety +5

      terrypussypower Have to agree with terry - I presently own a Gibson standard 2013 and a made in USA Fender telecaster (plus assorted other well known and pricier brands)- I love them both but I picked up one of these reissue Danelectro 59ms earlier this year and I have trouble putting it down. Its that good - certainly no "toy". As for build quality I think Gibson could learn something from these Korean manufacturers. Sure its light and made of pine and Masonite but it is also a 1/6th of the price of a Gibson standard. In the right hands it sings(maybe that's where Maafa 1619 is let down). Its not always about price and hyped up name brands in music.

      Maafa 1619 And yet you are not old enough to have learned how to behave decently? Such a charming and eloquent way of expressing your disagreement with someone... Shall we assume you are American?
