We link up with friends for a trip to the 2021 Big Bear Trail Ride "The Run" for a hard day on the big bike. This is one you don't want to miss - Zábava
You should let KTM know that its this video that pushed me into trading my 1290 SAR in on a new 890 adventure R. Great videos showing how effective these bikes are.
I’ve received countless messages like this but don’t really have any way of letting them know
The main US office is only 5 minutes from my house but so far I’ve been unable to make any solid contacts
Watched this video, Now I own one 😈
watching this video makes me wanna own this! but it is yet to be launched here in India!
+ you got some mad skills there bro! respect!
As a new 890 owner... This video had me breathing hard just watching. Definitely a new respect for what these big bikes can possibly do and huge props to you for taking it through the paces.
They can definitely get it done if you point it in the right direction. Have fun 👍
For sale: KTM 790 Adventure R, hardly used, just occasional weekend ride.
Only ridden to church on Sundays...
Never dropped.
Dave Lerner Potential buyer: “Asking the Church location”...😅😅😅
@@galuhrichata6148 I mean... It technically wasn't a race 😅😅😅
Every Single Sunday 😂😂😂😂😂
Never thought that a duel sport could go through such a single trail ! congratulations the bar is much higher now
Not just a dual sport, an adventure bike with cruise control and a pretty decent range! Optional heated grips, I think even heated seat... Looked like a pretty intense workout, though.
690 enduro R is a single trail machine.
I think I saw at least one section with no dust🙂. Continue to be amazed at what you tackle on your adventure bikes. You sir are no poser!
Man this brings back memories. Spent a weekend in big bear with a drz400s as a fairly new rider. Props to you the way to handled the ktm 790
Props from Austria Mate, what a nice ride. Cant wait to see more hardcore 790 ride out's every single sunday 👍
Well done! Tough sledding for sure. Love the exhaust sound. Your one tough dude
Savage, amazing, extremely entertaining, man. What a workout it was but above all, your perseverance and riding skills 🙌🏼😎
Such a rad event. Sad I’m missing it this year due to a scheduling conflict
I grew up in Big Bear, as a kid I rode my Honda 50 all over, as a adult I'd struggle doing this on my XT225, you are the man for showing just what a 790 is capable of in the right hands!!!
You are fully sick mate! This trails are awesome - for a hard enduro but not for baby elephant like the 790. Great fun to watch, epic fights on the twin!
You have my highest respect for doing this kind of trail on a 800cc bike !!! That's awesome :-)
Insane riding! Chris Birch has nothing over you. Very impressive to be riding a big bike like the KTM 790 Adventure R in a steep field of big boulders with hardly any gap in between. 5 Star riding.
Chris is a MUCH BETTER rider than I am in every way. I appreciate the compliment but that man is amazing
Gave this video a like just for being man enough to try this.
One of the super finest off road experience on the CZcams! 🔥❤️
Well done none the less man! This just proves you are an epic rider!
Dude that was awesome! I think this was the first time I’ve ever yelled at a CZcams video cheering you on haha I’m definitely not doing that big bear ride lol enjoy your content cheers
This is by far, the best of the best videos showing all what the KTM 790 Adventure R is made for. You should have slept for two days after that race. Congrats!!
If I had finished the race, I probably would have slept forever. But only doing 1/2 the day and having bike issues left me with some extra energy
You’r an animal dude !! What a blast viewing your vids. Think of u when singeling trails here with my t700
Thank you for sharing this spectacular experience man👍
Amazing video, you have some amazing skills riding. I could have never got through many of the ares you came through even if I had much smaller bike. Good job.
It's so much fun. These big bikes are beasts
Great ride! Very difficult sections and you killed them!
Hell ya! I'm worn out cheering for you as the video progresses! Good shit bro.
Awesome man, I appreciate it. Always a good time
Man I love the hum of that bike you seem to get better at it after the 3hr mark after you filled up really enjoyed watching this admiring your skills through the boulders and creek crossings
Thanks man. Always takes me a little while to find my groove for the day. Absolutely love riding this beast
My hat off to you from the UK...superb riding skills. Well done.
Thanks so much Simon. We love these big bikes 🤘
You are the Man! Great riding!
Great effort Travis!!
Manly choice for sure!!
Great video.
Thanks! 👍
AMAZING RIDE BRO. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic riding! Great video! I got arm pump just watching!
You're crazy man, taking an adv bike to that trail, it's like a buffalo in a deer trail. You did great though through that really challenging route, some parts were real scary and I was afraid the bike would go down more than it did. Great riding
26:30 - "Noone has ever done it, so f*** it we'll try it!" HAHAHAHA
That’s how we roll (unless it’s a big jump)
Wow! Amazing you have got some balls taking and nearly 500lb bike with the amount power it has, well done sir! Well done!
Kudos to you! I've never gone up Dishpan. I do deep creek in opposite direction and go down Dishpan for the loop.
Bloody hell, you’re a madman! Amazing scenery.
Fantastic video bro. That 790 is a amazing machine. Well done from the Natal Midlands South Africa.
Thanks so much. Awesome day for sure
Cracking video 👌👌 wish we had trails like this in the UK
You are the man. You did an amazing job.
Thanks Eric
Amazing route bro !!
This video is the reason I'm buying the 790 R this week but we'll done bro some insane riding skills KTM should sponsor you can't believe that clutch cable is so strong though insane keep it up ❤
The 790/890 are great bikes. Get a Camel ADV easy pull clutch for your bike, it’s a must
You sir are a riding god. Some of that stuff looked so gnarly, it didn't even look fun. I couldn't have done some of that on anything - not even a 250 or 426. Great vid.
Im just a fat guy who rides okay. I love this stuff
well i take my hat off to you mate a big ride on a big bike well done huge effort cheers steve/Australia
That was ah-maz-ing... I’m picking up my 890R in a week and though there is no way in hell I would consider tackling what you did on that ride watching you kill that trail with your 790 gives me all sorts of warm and fuzzies about my choice. OUTSTANDING job!!
You’ll love that bike. It’s like the 790 but with all the low end torque this is missing. Have fun
Wow! That looks like a hell of a tough ride for such a big bike.
Absolutely unbelievable! Well done on a big bike.
Thanks mate. Love this bike
The fact you were keeping up with these guys just makes me laugh so hard core haha! Definitely selling my GS for one
Big mix of different skilled riders show up to these events. I’m usually on my 300 but days like this are fun on the big bike
The first two minutes of the video I was toast...damm.
Well done..
Long ass day for sure. Hoping to finish next year
You have nads the size of grapefruit! Fantastic ride - thanks for sharing.
so great, I like to watch those kinds of challenge video! Well done, I had KTM 790 R, try to do some crazy things. greet from CHINA.非常棒(well done)
You should be the next KTM ambassador man!..Bravo!!!really
That would be awesome. Maybe someday 🤷
I can't believe how cool this video looks.
Thanks man. It was an epic ride for sure
I have ridden these roads/trails many times in my riding career. From an 83 RM250 to a 01 YZ426 and all the bikes in between! But never would I even consider opting to ride a Harley Davidson(790!) or what ever that bike is!🤣 Yep badass for certain and congratulations on going the distance you went. I wonder if you would consider trying again, not for the fun of it but for the challenge? Now, get some rest.
What a great ride.
I have the 790 ADV-S model. I absolutely cannot imagine trying to handle such a heavy bike in terrain like you tackled on the R model. I am amazed at your skill level, balance, and stamina. For me, there would have been nothing fun about it - just a continuous workout. The R model is tall too. I really can't imagine how you did that ride. Hats off to you dude.
Just comes with time. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone nthat doesn't ride this type of terrain bin a regular basis
A 300/500 would be a lot more fun for most people
Thanks for the good words 🤘
Fair play to you for doing it on that people say the same to me as my old knackered transalp comes bouncing past 😂👍🏻
I was really hoping you'd finish. MST on a ktm 720... Really shows your skill level for sure. Could you imagine riding a 450 or 2stroke and catching up to someone on stage 2 and they are on a 790??? I'm sure the weight of that bike just ate through those tires over rock. Super fun to watch - can't wait for next year!
Ya, it was a great day on the bike. I was ahead of so many that did finish and was ahead if where I needed to be for time
Next year I think I'll have a spare rear wheel for the 2nd half or maybe something that wears better
Plenty time to plan 🤘
Well done man. Rough stuff in sections on that thing.
Outstanding ride.Tough as nails.Cheers.JHB-SA
It's amazing that such trails are possible with this motorcycle. I have the same bike, but I would not be able to do that. Congratulations! Greetings from Austria
Just twist the throttle and hope for the beat :)
Epic vid. I have rode much of that area and kicks my ass on a 501. Hell of a ride. 🏁🇺🇸🤙
Fun day for sure. Big bear has some fun stuff
Just bought a 2020 KTM 790 ADVENTURE R what a tyre shredding machine box stock. Can't believe how much I love this bike doing all the bulletproof items now harden it up ready for Action 👌
It really is an amazing machine. Glad you are enjoying yours as much as I am
Espectacular! Me encanta la 790 y ese uso endurero, por favor más vídeos!
I have lots of 790 videos. Glad you like them
Love this as much as the original you posted. Reminds why I’m getting the 790 R even if I’m not about to try Big Bear. Now if that boat from Austria will hurry up and get it to Calmoto ....
So what was the diagnosis? You ever figure out the root cause or was it just too hot with a two cylinder banging on those super technical trails?
Your commitment to the sport and your technical skills as a rider are blatantly evident in the footage on the Malcom Smith trail, hats off to you brother! Please allow subtitles on future videos, hard to hear your comments over the roar of the engines! Adding a few scoops of magnesium citrate malate powder to your water will help prevent arm pump and leg cramps in future rides.
I took plenty of supplements this day. But when it his over 100 it’s hard to keep up after hours of abuse. I appreciate the info either way 👍
If I did this the video would have been de-monitized in the first 50 yards of trail! You're so calm! How are you doing this without saying F/2k, sh!t the entire time! Travis you're my hero!
These trails are easy compared to what I normally ride. Just taking this beast of a bike makes them hard
you are a hero my friend
Pffff - well done man!
Big balls and great riding!
Such a fun day :)
That was seriously impressive what you went through on the big dog. On the 300 you would have blasted through. Crazy difference when the bike is 500lbs. That took knuts mr!
Awesome try man, love the 790 videos. Can you keep us posted what you need to fix the bike? Keep youre nuts gas free and hope to see you soon here! greetz from the flats of Holland :D
I just took out the check valves in the tank. It's been good to go since them.
I plan on putting on the ROTTWEILER gas cap once it's available. Should cure any issues
bravo et respect super performance et merci pour le partage
Thanks !
Awesome job.
That looked brutal!!
The hardest part of the day was having to call it quits when the bike didn't want to go any further
Wow Travis you are sure one bad dude. I have the same bike but don’t think I would ever attempt to ride big bear. If you ever come to North Carolina I would attempt to follow you.
Thanks man. These bikes are amazing
I’d have been worried about a fall, fuel leak and a fire..
Amazing video. I love my new 790 ADVR so far...
It was either ride it out like that or pay for a helicopter to come get it
I made the choice I could afford
@@EverySingleSunday totally. I've been down that trail 100 times, but always on a small bike, and even then it was a challenge. I'm just looking at your Pacific Northwest and Idaho videos and deciding which singletrack I could do on the 790 next summer...
Damn what an intense video! I really enjoyed it, thank you for sharing. Ps. This video also removed my doubt and made it clear for me, I am trading my 1290 sas for the 890 adventure r 😃.
These bikes rip. I’m actually moving to a 890R from my 790R soon. Enjoy
Fantastic ride ..... couldn't believe how much struggle and effort is needed for this elephant of a bike on this rocky trails. ..... I was hoping you can finish - still making history.....
Ya, definitely not the right tool for the job. But it's sure fun trying to make it work
@@EverySingleSunday I ran the ADV bike route on my 1290SAR with my mosko Reckless 80 fully packed on it. Not the hardest trail I've ridden by far but on 3-4 hours sleep(rode up late the night before from OC and was awakened by reving dirt bikes at 645am) the last 40 miles was hard. I realized I don't love super dry rocky stuff. Lol. when I rode up to register, they said, you're doing this with that??? Never again.
@@awakeadventurer9198 That's a big bike with a lot of weight on it.
@@EverySingleSunday oh yes
@@EverySingleSunday an oldd4 friend of mine who raced road and off road decades ago said for my 150lb body weight, I should be riding a 250-300lb bike, like the 500EXC. I was leaning toward the 701 Enduro LR, being that it's 130lbs less than the 790R. 110 less than the T7. I like those bikes but the weight savings....but he still said the LR is too heavy.
Great ride man that would have kicked my ass hours ago. Way to give it hell as far as I’m concerned you kicked ass!! Around Bend Oregon out on 2 wheels
It was a tough day for sure but I had more in me. Was a real let dow to have some mechanical stuff
I love your videos. you are the real deal man. your videos made up my mind to get an 890 r. picking it up on the weekend. I plan to ride deep sandy roads and dunes. have you done that yet? would be awesome to see it done
I’ve been in some deep sand but no dunes yet. I would like to get out in the dunes with the bike but digging it out scares me
But, I’m down with a busted ankle/ leg right now so I have a few months to plan something out
Thanks
sorry to hear that man. get well soon and thank you for the reply
Thanks so much
Would love to see this attempted again this year!
Unfortunately I broke my leg in October. No way my fitness will be up to par by then. Thinking of running it on my 300 if I’m around this year. I do want another crack at it on a big bike again some day for sure
I changed my bar to a 800MM ProTaper Contour handlebar, the bike felt so much better (for me).
"Pick it up and go again, BEEP" I am such a fan of this dude.
I’m actually still on my stock bars for some reason. I usually use ProTaper EVOs but wasn’t sure if all the electronics would fit on the bars. I need to stop being lazy and just test it all out
@@EverySingleSunday It would be an honor for you to tell me what you think, it changed it for me. Back from riding all these years from the era of kick starters and little 125s and 200s it felt perfect for me, I have to admit when I was in my teens the Gold ProTaper was a thing of love and I always wanted one; so I got one to make smile everytime I ride. Goooold!
Brother, YOU ARE THE MAN! I mean that in two ways, 1.) You have the talent 2.) You have the size. I probably wouldn't have made it 100 yards past the first dirt road.
Thanks man. It definitely takes some mass to wrestle this big beast on a day like that
YOU ARE A HERO
I know 🤣🤣
Massive effort dude ive done similar stuff on 1190 its hard going ay the weight kills ya
Glad to hear your trying it. They can be a bear but it is so much fun also
@@EverySingleSunday went in a race in Australia called ultimate race.lots of challenges.fastest wheel change dropping the bike pick up.gps sections then time trials on enduro 12hr track.set up for enduro bikes.
Savage! I struggle on the tech stuff on my 890 because I am short. I think I could make most of this... just not all together like you did LOL
Ya, getting a leg out can be a life saver but it’s hard when it’s heavy. Keep riding and enjoy the process 🤘
Still a very good vidéo,it's very physical. 👍👍👍👍
I don't know whether the bike is really good or whether it's the rider that is highly skilled. Either way a great video!!!
Definitely not the rider
Love to see you do that on the T7 see how far you make it
May do that next year. Have to see if I keep the T7 or the 790 🤷🏻♂️
@@EverySingleSunday How do you like the T7? I have been trying about trading my DRZ400E Dual Sport Conversion in on one. Would like your opinion.
Feeling sorry for with all those rocks. Kept your composure and nailed it. 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺
It’s all part of the fun. More fun in a 300 though
That was impressive!
Thanks man. It was so much fun
beast on that big bike
These bikes are so much fun
That bike sounds badass.
One f my favorite things about it :)
Great riding! On a semi big bike to boot 👍.
Nobody has been able to complete that event in a 2 cyl bike yet. Some big names have tried
Great vid and it looked like great fun! Are you running bibs in the wheels? What mirror combo are you running on the 790 and where'd you buy them? Thanks
Good work
Thanks
Dude. respect!
Thanks man. This bike is a beast
Wow what a pounding you should definitely have gotten the Iron Man award for this effort ouch 😲
You’re a mad man! :)
Awesome video and shows the capability of the 790R. Makes me wonder if the stock battery would have worked better. I fully drained mine once when parked overnight with the headlight on (because the light stays on if you turn off the key before a complete stop). Jumped it the next day and still works great 8 months later.
yes, it would have. or a lightweight without the restart feature probably would have been good as well. Bad place to find out
9 minutes 55 seconds in you look exhausted. The Damn Gopro does not show how steep the terrain your riding really is.. Great job! I love my 790R!
I always take a bit to get moving
The first 20 minutes on a bike always kill me :)
I'm at 3:50 and I'm already tired from flexing every muscle in my body while watching you ride.
It’s a long day on the 790
