- As well as hardware reviews we like to do featured builds at KitGuru every once in a while on the channel. A company that we have not featured on the channel for a while is Alphacool so we thought this featured video would be a good opportunity to build a fully custom water-cooled Alphacool system to check out what’s on offer from Alphacool in 2024. thats some build - a system most of us can only dream about.
Loved the Timelapse. Very theurapteutic
Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
Yeah I’ve watched it a few times. Same.
I love straight line hard line done like this. Very beautiful colours too. Don’t see enough blue
Blue can be one of the nicest colours imo.
Wow, such a beautiful build (as usual).
Lovely build James. Very pretty !
Classy build! Absolutely love it.
Thank you kindly!
@@KitGuruTechcould you let me know the cost of the components? I may have to copy this for a mate.
I love your builds James. Absolutely stunning job 🥰
Brilliant work mr Dawson. Virtuoso 😮
Amazing guys love it
Great build, love it.
Holy crap that’s amazing James ❤❤
Thanks!
Great job James
Thanks!
Looking good!
Thanks!
Very impressive James. Very very clean lines
Many thanks!
Looks great 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Oooh very nice!
dream
That’s a work of art. Love the use of Amd in this one too. Far too many builds using intel. Nice to get variance.
love the build James, its so clean, and all the straight lines look so neat and 'industrial'. Hard line tubing is so much nicer than soft tubing. its just above my level sadly. wish you cuold make a guide on how to build a system like this for us not so experienced users.
Its quite a easy with a distro plate, less bends are needed.
Wish they would do a fan with a metal impeller too!
I had my alphacool rads just waiting for me to put them in once my pump/res arrives. Good to see how they work/look before hand.
Awesome what hardware spec is the system going to be ?
I'm transferring a z790 mobo with a 13600k and 3080 rog strix to the case. First time making it a custom loop though.@@thetechdevil-jn1vo
Really like that bistro (bistro?) plate bit of a work of art that. Sort of reminds me of the valve body of an automatic transmission.
Distro 😀
Bistro 😂
😂
Spectacular. I forgot about alphacool. You guys tend to focus more on Ekwb.
Glad you liked the build
Wish the stealth fans were a bit cheaper, looking forward to the rgb versions as well
imagine this build in white evo, chrome fans and white gigabyte pro x soo good
Stunning agree.
When GPU prices started to fall, I took a deal on 6900XT Waterforce. Then started to think how I would get it to work the most easiest way.
I bought Alphacool 360 Eisbaer Aurora from Aquatuning's B-stock, removed the jet plate to maximise throughput. And was happy.
Later, I wanted to put CPU also to watercooling...
Well, I got the same Eisbaer, from same place and B-stock, but 480 size this time. I just bought an extension cable (or tubing, to be exact) set and that was it. Do that on any other AIO...
Anyway, I just bought Alphacool 200mm reservoir and Apex Vpp-combo, core 1 CPU block and core AM5 performance kit.
And replaced the cpu block/reservoir combo(s).
Works a treat. Good stuff!
Great story. How’s your temps under load ?
@@stickyfingers9710 Well, I happened to check out temps on playing Alan Wake 2 last weekend: GPU 48, Hotspot 68 and CPU 55,8. Celsius, of course ;) That's with GPU at 2600 core and 1200mV. I run my 7800x3d with -30 curve optimizer on all cores, maybe I was lucky on silicon lottery, but I have not been able to get any errors, for example in OCCP's stress tests...
I mean, temps are just excellent. And so far, I'm really, really impressed with VPP Apex-pump...
That’s impressive. Certainly worth doing especially with lower noise levels too.
@@theonlyredspecial Exactly, lower noise level is the main thing. And knowing, that everything is serviceable and replaceable.
When you building it ? Are all the parts available ? Had problems getting some alphacool parts before
Looks great, does it have the performance to match? Would like it in a deep emerald green or a nice warm red/orange for winter…
Nice build! What coolant is that?
Nice build. Have the same gpu and block but my memory temps are very high (80 degrees under load). All the other temps are amazing.
I always was told alphacool were the cheap Ekwb. But that build looks brilliant
What cpu are you using swizzler ?
@@Everychillitsjustlife-cz8zz7900x
Very nice. Bending all those tubes must have been a nightmare. Always end up getting burnt fingertips from that work plus the smell of cooking plastic becomes your best friend. Well worth the effort though that's a fantastic build.
Hopefully they put this one up for a competition!
Thanks appreciate the comments !
Looked great. Love the lines
Burnt fingertips are a part of the job
thanks for sharing, Can you share temps and benchmarks?
Very interested to see how that water cooling is performing.
GPU temp after 30 mins of 3DMark SpeedWay stress test was 49C
@@KitGuruTech thanks
Acool aren’t sending the flush mount stop fittings anymore? That’s a shame. Nice and (seemingly) easy build, James. Good one.
Thank you
When I saw the “stealth” wording I initially thought it was a rear connector motherboard build. I’m waiting for the ASUS motherboards and 5000 series gpu’s with the BTF connection for my next custom loop I think.
Sounds like a good time to do it. Will you buy alphacool or Ekwb kit ?
@@Itsameamario-ns3se I’ve used both and tend to mix them in my builds. I can never get all EK parts as they never have stock and their white rads don’t match the white cases I’ve used so far.
I'm curious about your flow configuration - and why you have your gpu flow (hot) dumping directly into your cpu (also hot). Wouldn't it make more sense to have radiators between the hot components? For example:
pump-discharge
gpu
radiator
distro-plate
cpu
radiator
distro-plate
pump-discharge
This is just how the distro plate ports are laid out, they are labelled in the manual RAD, GPU, CPU RAD etc. For a gaming pc it makes sense to me to have the GPU first in the line anyway, you want your GPU to be cooler for maximum performance right?, plus the difference in water temperature between the GPU inlet and outlet will be minor.
Also CPUs just dont benefit as much from custom loop cooling these days, the CPU IHS is the limitation now.
👍@@KitGuruTech Thanks for the response! The build looks amazing btw... If you had more time for this build - what would be your mounting plan for the flow indicator? Or did it simply not fit?
I think Ekwb makes nicer parts but this is a lovely build. How much is all the cooling gear in this system ?
Several grand for the cooling alone
GPU manufacturers should have a standard connector to allow the use of water cooling on their heatsinks or sell "naked" cards to allow you to use your own water cooler.
wishful thinking !
Wouldn’t work
They'd charge a premium for a naked card 😂
Omg i love the irish accent.
Irish ? 😂
Ok well that’s me getting told off by the wife for pricing parts 😂
Great build, but if you were show casing Alphacool why not use the the curve maker? While you may not need it those of us who are not QUITE as adept would benefit . :-)
Is that for bending hard tubing ?
Nah just need your eyeballs and a square table
Ive never used a bending tool, always found it easier to do it by eye, or use the corner of a desk/worktop 😁
@@KitGuruTech we arent all at your level,. that tool sounds good to me !
I love the fans and considering what they're made from I don't think they're over-priced. Alphacool are killing it right now with pretty much everything. I've gone from hating the look of their gear to loving more than any other manufacturer.
I feel the same way. I was the biggest EK fanboy forever but they have stagnated.
@@jonas000111 Thanks, nice to hear 🙂
I am going to go into the corner of the room and cry. My own system pales In comparison.
Yes please, need a nice DAW, HOW MUCH?, ever thought of deliding for even better CPU cooling?
He did a whole delidding project with Ekwb here over 3 videos.
@@justindavis7600 missed those ones, need to look them out, was the result worth the effort?
Yeah I found those videos really good. I think James helped Ekwb set the whole delidding thing up with debareur
@@Maxverstappenracing-dz3pt DerBauer (The Builder) is the master of de-liding…
@@murraywebster1228 We originally approached EKWB last year with the idea of them doing a delidding project with us. It took some time to get the final kit in place - and yes Derbauer was involved in the project with us. Also we have a new video coming soon on delidding as well. so stay tuned for that one.
Looks good but I'll stick with my $25 air cooler
Bet that is worth a pretty penny😅
That distro plate does not line up with the tubbing.... looks terrible... parts are nice though
It's probably just the camera angle. It lines up perfectly.
nonsense and its 'tubing' not tubbing - its not a cooking channel.
@@KitGuruTechif that is the case I take back my comment 😊 but they do like a bit off
@@canarychrome7012glad you spotted my typo, just don’t know why you are being rude? Perhaps you are just a poor soul seeking your place or approval… sorry if my typo offended you
Are your eyes painted on?
Want!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I have a first born son and/or a kidney! Let's make a deal!
😀
What a profoundly illogical statement! 😮
Basically the Alphacool fans *could* be total crap but we don't care as long as they look pretty 😟🤦♂️
If this is the best commentary you can manage then don't bother saying anything.
That pretty sums up everything in the modern world!
This is a build. Not a fan review. We explained that at the very start. And we thought it was time to create a build again as we haven’t done any in recent months. If you want a review of the fans we may fit that In in the coming months.
Every distro plate build looks the same, there is zero variability between them.
