    Thank you so much Eric for making these videos! I'm running the NYC half this year and it will be not just my first half, but my first race in person! Really appreciate all your knowledge and experience :)

      Sara, this is a really fabulous race. The hills are very steep and come often, so do hillwork in training.

    So they have actually changed the course a few times over the last few years. In 2018 I believe it was it first switched to a Brooklyn start. Then shortly after they changed the milage that was in Central Park all the way up to 102nd st. and moved it into prospect park. So now the hills are in Brooklyn in the early miles and not as much in CP at the end. But they have confirmed the course is the same now as the last year.

    Eric -- I spoke with Ted Metellus at the Manhattan 10K and I asked him about that odd wording on the website. Ted said the NYC Half will be the same course as 2019. Yay!!!!

    as a participant, they haven't emailed course info yet, but I was on the nyrr website a day or two ago and they have discreetly posted the course with detailed maps of the start and finish on the NYC half race page.

    Thanks Eric! I’m running the NYC half this year and the content helps a lot. Not my first time running 13.1 but my first race and I can’t wait to hit the course.

      Eric, just wanted to check in and say thanks for all of the tips. Ran the NYC half over the weekend and it was a blast. Running the full marathon in November now!

    Course was slightly different 2018 and 2019. One wrapped around 102nd (makes a BIG difference when Cat and 3 sisters are at play, especially at the later part of the race) and the other crossed over at 72nd street. I prefer the 2017 course. But all good, will be running it this year again.

    I am coming down from Boston to run this. Can’t wait, I got the guaranteed entry in 2019 for the 2020 race. Thanks to Covid it has been bumped and finally I get to come run a NY race.

    Hello Eric, I will be running this years NYC Half. My question is, did they confirm whether they changed the starting line location yet?

    • @Dirtyoldsneakers
      @Dirtyoldsneakers  Před 2 lety

      I believe so, it's actually the same as last time. It'll be in Prospect Park.
