    Just bought a Micro Target from Cabelas with the full-length rail. I like it. Easy to install the red dot or take it off for iron sites. I will put a TandemKross trigger in, lighten the trigger pull, and put a set of wood grip on it. Later a longer barrel just to swap out for fun and because it's so easy to do on a Buckmark. Used to have a 5.5'' standard model and in a weak moment sold it. Wish I still had that 1 too.

      @@BobbyJetty1502 well, fair and prices right now are two totally different things. being a long time buckmark guy and owning many, i would certainly not go any higher than three, the should be running around three and a half brand new. they are really no different than the entry model "camper" series except for the bull barrel... and the camper has a bull barrel for a few inches AND the micro bull barrel is shorters, so they are really not that different. ultimately it comes down to how bad you want it i suppose and whether or not you are looking as it from an investment standpoint or something you will enjoy for years. if the later is true, then i would not fault you for going a bit mroe than i would.

    We have the slab sided model with 4 inch barrel. If you lay it next to a full size 1911 it becomes apparent it not a "small" pistol. Overall length , sight radius, and grip angle basically the same. Not a total match of course but gives you the idea its not exactly micro by other standards either.

    I got to say that's not one of the better reviews for a firearms channel. I really didn't learn anything more about it other than the kind of ammo it took and that it's single. It was a video that to me showed you firing the weapon and that was is bout as informative as got.

      i am sure there is someone out there with a long boring 45 minute in depth video.. that isn't my style... end of the day it is a buckmark, not much to say considering my channel is full of buckmark videos already. this unfortunatly happens when one random viewer finds one random video from a creator. imaging jumping into a television series at episode 10, 50 or 100, right? similar concept. but hey, unlike most what most channels would do, you got a reply, so there is something i suppose. ❤

    Thank you for the post! I've had my eye on the micro bull for quite some time and man it looks fun.
    Some things I want to know: Is the micro bull louder, quieter, or the same as a regular buckmark. Is it just for looks, or could the bull barrel possibly absorb more with its thickness? I imagine it helps with weight distribution and keeping a steady hold on target, but why might it be also be a good gun?
    Also, the cons.. go ahead and name a couple things you dont favor with the micro bull or maybe buckmarks in general. Any more questions and you might need to make an "update" review video haha. TY

    • @CloverTac
      @CloverTac  Před 3 lety

      with all of the Buckmark videos there are on this channel, no need to do much of an update in regards to them. i have shot Buckmarks for fun, hunting and in competition for years and they are by far my favorite, no apologies. so as far as buckmakrs go, except for barrels, grips, rails, sights, etc they are all pretty much the same and shoot pretty much just as good. unless you are talking bullseye competition or something. the big deal with varying models is really the barrel, some longer, some short, differen profiels, etc. the micro bulls i compact, i also have a 7.5" fluted bull on a bulseye competition version (see other videos). so this one has a similar feel but for something like say steel challenge, speed steel, that length really isn't needed. the weiight can help too with muzzle flip type situations, not that 22 has much. while buckmarks have and my very well be my go to, yeah, i content to this day it is still the most accurate and best trigger on an out of the box 22 you can pick up, no mater the model. i can be honest in a couple things they lack, first i would say ease of cleaning, they are not nearly as easy to deal with as say a Ruger MK IV. since 22 is dirty, especially bulk stuff, it is a good idea to at least spot clean your 22s every few hundred rounds or so. the buckmark will tell on you because the when it gets time to clean it will actually blow some powder back onto your hands (also why you ALWAYS wear eye pro). now that issue is not specific to the buckmark, pretty much all of the 22 pistol with this style of action will do that as they get dirty. and, we are not talking about a quick clean with some solvent, a brush, borsnake, etc. but when you do decide to do a deep clean, it is a bit of a hassle. that said, it is not nearly has hard as the older non Mark IV Rugers by any means i have stripped, cleaned, reapaired, etc between matches before, no problem but i have tools, parts etc readily available and have done it too many time to count. aftermarket is a bit of a drawback too. not necessarily with having stuff availlable but places to can get them, variety, cost, etc. Tandemkross, Striplin Custom Gunworks and Midwest Gun Works are three sources, pretty much in that order for cool stuff. the cost versus say aftermarket for Ruger is a bit more too usually. BUT, as explained before, they are already ahead of the game out of the box, so for most people, aftermarket is little to no concern.yep, would have been quicker to just make a video. 😂🤣 thanks for the questions

    • @CloverTac
      @CloverTac  Před 3 lety

      oh i didn't answer the quiet question, dang it..... it is really the same, with 22 anything under say 10 inches is about the same (ammo you use matters too), then 10-16 is about the same and then 16 plus is about the same. every buckmark i own will cycle and actually prefers lower velocity ammunition and that is obviously going to be the quietest, still enough to really need ear pro in my opinion, especially if you shoot a lot but quieter.

    I have a question for you or anyone. I bought my Browning Buck Mark Micro Bull a few weeks ago. Also with the threaded barrel. Been to cold to shoot it just yet, but I was wondering how everyone cleans and oils theirs? Do I need to take this firearm completely down to clean and oil it after the shooting range? Or is there a better way to clean it.
    All answers are appreciated.

    • @CloverTac
      @CloverTac  Před rokem +2

      completely down, no but removal of the top strap is only two screws... so pretty easy to do that if you need to get into some harder to reach places. for light cleaning, i use a bore snake and then a very thing brush (can't remmber where i go tit) then blow through it all with an air compressor nozzle (canned air woudl probably word) then oil and done. the biggest issues you see with 22 is going to be the breech face bolt face, freed ramp and barrel... those can be cleaned pretty good without even taking the top strap loose.oh pro tip while i am here, i have seen many many top strap screws over the years seize up, twist the head, etc and have to be drilled. my recommendation is to get some alluminum anti seize and dab a little on those every time you take things down just to keep them from locking up on ya eventually.

I do however have the Walther ppk 22 and it's nice quality with nickel finish, feels nice and still can be used as a pocket 22 somewhat if need be, only thing is in such a short barrel it's not a tac driver but I'm not that great at shooting either.

    • @CloverTac
      @CloverTac  Před 3 lety +1

      just remember, short barrels do not necessarily mean a firearm is going to be inaccurate... particularly with models like the Buckmark, S&W Vicotry, Ruger MK and that type stuff. in fact, my shorter barrel Buckmarks can easily hold their own against the 7.5" models i have. not with straight up competition where literally hundreths of an inch matter but for having fun or speed steel type stuff, oh yeah, no problem. also, with Buckmarks, you are not getting much with more expensive models, so for most people the cheaper version, usually called the "camper' will work out just fine.

      @CloverTac  Před 3 lety

      this is a good question, at the end of the day, yeah, probably so BUT we are talking slightly. here is the deal with buckmarks, the triggers are phenominal, the actions are proven, those are two things that make them great. when you are just talking about a difference in barrel, length will play a bigger role over the width. all that said, can it make a difference when you are talking precision match or whatever, yeah, sure

    • @jamiephillips6624
      @jamiephillips6624 Před 3 lety +1

      It seems like the general rule of thumb is the longer barrel provides a more actuate shot and easier to hit the targets, but it seems like some people claim it to be different on this gun. I ask because I’m strongly considering the Micro now instead of the Camper. I kinda like the way it looks better. So I’m hoping it’s not harder to hit the bullseye with

    • @CloverTac
      @CloverTac  Před 3 lety +1

      @@jamiephillips6624 i can't tell you this because i own many buckmarks and have shot many, many more. most of them, no matter the barrel, no matter the tweaks or aftermarket parts shoot great, plenty good enough out of the the box to win matches.... maybe not olympic or national level but clubs local, even state level stuff. i totally get the look thing, for some that does not matter, for some it does. loving the way a firearm looks plays directly into the enjoyment and actually the confidence with said firearm, so not issues there. at the end of the day, sounds like you mind is made up here and i am about to try and talk you out of it otherwise. NOW, for those who are planning to doing some upgrade work to a buckmark for competition purposes, specifically for something like open class and especially if it involves a barrel swap to something like a long heavy bull barrel or maybe a lightweight tac sol barrel or whatever, go with the cheapest buckmark you can find. why, because at the end of the day, as i said earlier, the cheap ones are the same trigger, same action, same frame etc as the expensive ones.... so no need to spend more for things you will probably replace anyway. a final thought here from me is that you might want to look into a fiber optic front sight, the micro bull is super cool out of the box but that is one upgrade that, at least for me, is worthwhile.
