I am an Arsenal fan. I know what legend is given I spent over 20 years being entertained by one of the greatest managers the game has ever seen. Jurgen Klopp is a football legend. He has taken two sides that aren't uprooting trees in two of the top leagues in Europe and won leagues with them and won a Champions League with Liverpool. Liverpool is a huge club. I know my club is massive but Liverpool is a titan not just of English football but European football - Klopp has awoken that club and ensured continued success at the top of the Premier League. I remember a Mesut Özil inspired Arsenal hammering Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium 4-1 under Arsene Wenger - Klopp took that Liverpool side to what it is now which is one of the best in Europe. He is legendary and undoubtedly world class.

@@luciferbeelzebubmoloch8724 He's never managed the top teams in their respective leagues, like those other managers. Or in the case of Jose had the huge financial backing needed to win more major trophies.
At Dortmund, he won the league back to back and got to a CL final with a far inferior team than the competition, and had to deal with losing his best players to his direct rival for the league every season.
Takes over a dismal Liverpool team in 8th place, completes club football and wins every trophy on offer. Gets 90+ points 3 times, having an absolute fraction of what City have spent, and what most of his other top 6 rivals have spent. It's highly likely if it wasn't for City cheating behind the scenes he would have at least another title or two. As well as getting to 3 CL finals and losing two of them in unfortunate circumstances.

It took Fergie 7 or 8 years to really get things going at United. Liverpool were not in a good way when Klopp came in. What he’s done at Liverpool has been remarkable. Coming up against a team with an endless pit of money in City not to mention all the allegations against them. Lost out by a point on two occasions in the league and took us to two CL finals and won the CL. WON both domestic cups. To win the league after 30 years was a massive achievement not to mention the other trophies. Klopp is a legend.

But it's not like people obsess over how Liverpool lost 4 ChampionsLeague games in 2018/19 needed home advantage vs direct rival for knockout place and a dodgy pen straightaway in the final but how many CL winners lose 4 out of the 13 games??
Also about Liverpool winning by a lot in 2019/20 their first English title in 30 years, law of averages was that a club like Liverpool should win at least 1 in over 30 years. They made sure they didn't f it up that particular year but don't over exaggerate it. He didn't win anything for nearly 4 whole years at Liverpool with all the different competitions they could've possibly won and he has also had a couple of bad seasons even post VanDyke signing which was when it started getting better for Liverpool, which included finishing outside top4 last season and trophyless.

And Klopp has three 90+ point seasons, two 95+ point seasons and produced the best team performance in a single year in the PL (having the league tied up by February, against a great City side). And if he'd been remotely properly backed by the Liverpool owners he'd have 5 straight 90+ point seasons. He's done all this with a net spend of around £40mil/year. Ferguson only got 90+ points twice in 27 years.
Also it's obvious City have been cheating and should have their titles stripped from them. Which would give Klopp 2 more titles. @@jhpfdijtuiweruot

Trophies are important, but they're not the only measure. Klopp's impact on the PL exceeds the trophies he's won. Like Pep, he's influenced the style of play (arguably with pressing bringing back something that used to be a feature of the game over here but had fallen off), and Pep has often credited Klopp's role in City's success story - City are better than they would otherwise be for having a rival who can push them to their limits.

If we put things into perspective and context Klopp is easily one of the best Premier League managers there ever were.
Klopp arrived at Liverpool in 2015 when Liverpool were in absolute shambles and lost to Stoke 6:1 on the last matchday of 14/15 season. He inherited a squad full of below average players and with a limited budget he managed to bring Liverpool to the top in less than 4-5 years.
In the 2017/18 season he managed to drag an average Liverpool side to a Champions League final against probably the strongest side ever in Real Madrid. In 2018/19 season he won 97 points (30W, 7D and 1L) and failed to win the league, while winning the Champions League. The next season (2019/20) he won the league with 99 points and at one point of the season, Liverpool had won 103 of 105 points available! In 2022 Liverpool won the two domestic cups and were the only team ever that was in a quadruple chase until the last day of the season. Liverpool lost another PL title in the last matchday with 92 points and another Champions League final against Real Madrid. I am certain that Klopp will for the foreseeable future be the only manager that has managed to accumulate 97 and 92 points and not win the league. Absolutely insane!! These are levels that only Klopp and Guardiola have managed to sustain for a longer period of time. Fergie's best ever points tally is 92 - Klopp in 8 years had 92, 97 and 99 points and managed to win the league only once.
Here is where we should always bring the context into play. If we compare Klopp's and Pep's paths to these achievements we would see that Pep inherited a muuuch much stronger City side than Klopp (De Bruyne, Kompany, Sterling, David Silva, Aguero, Jesus Navas, etc.), and a squad in which milions and milions of pounds were invested in the years prior to Pep's arrival. On top of the already decent squad, Pep had the luxury to spend 530 million euros in his first two years, with a net spend of 400 million euros. For comparison Klopp in his first two season's had a positive net spend of 17 million euros. Yes, Klopp has OBVIOUSLY spent money on players, but when you say that someone spent X amount of money, you have to put it into perspective and compare it to the rest of the playing field. Liverpool under Klopp have a lower net spend (330 mil.) than teams like Villa and Newcastle, while the teams from the big 6 are far far ahead of Liverpool's spend. Pep has had the luxury to spend over 500 million euros on defenders only and the luxury to have players like Kalvin Phillips that cost 40-50 million and never even play a game for the team. Not the mention the astronomical wages of City players compared to those in Liverpool.
This leads us to the biggest elephant in the room - THE 115 CHARGES!!! So we are gonna sit here and pretend that Man City are not the focal point of the most complex and controversial case in the Premier League history, with already being charged and punished by UEFA 4 years ago, just for the ruling to be overturned behind closed doors in the Court of Arbitration for Sport because some of the charges were time-barred. The charges that are brought upon them show financial doping through fake sponsorships and revenue streams which directly influences the money available to spend on transfer fees and wages, resulting in better players and squad depth capable of constantly accumulating 90+ points.
Now, we can all count the number of trophies that Klopp has won during his time at Liverpool, but very easily the legacies of Klopp and Pep could have been very different because if we look at their seasons statistically, the titles in 2018/19 and 2021/22 were figuratively speaking decided by a coin-flip. One point, or one goal throughout the season would have meant a different outcome at the end of the season. I get it, at the end City won those titles but no one can sit here and act like Liverpool and City were not playing at the same level. One manager gets all the praise and is being called one of the greatest managers in the Premier League (Pep), while the other's legacy is being put into question just because he couldn't beat an oil state with unlimited amounts of money. What happens if City in 1-2 years time is found guilty of the charges? Wouldn't that make Klopp's achievements even bigger? Without City's financial doping Klopp could have easily finished his Liverpool era with at least 4 Premier League titles.
I would say that Klopp is extremely unlucky that he spent his time at Liverpool during the same era as this Pep Man City team, but for me Klopp is the best manager in the world and a better pound-for-pound manager than Pep. Pep has the trophies (for now), but they reached the same heights, with Klopp not having the financial backing of an oil state.
That is why the argument of the number of trophies won as the only achievement is stupid, because Kane wouldn't be in the top 100 for Premier League strikers of all time.
Klopp is without a shadow of a doubt a F***IN LEGEND of the Premier League whether people like it or not!! Just see the respect that he gets from all the other managers and players these last couple of days.
YNWA Jurgen, you can not imagine how much you will be missed!

I do agree though that to be a true legend a few more trophies would be required so let’s hope he adds another premier league this year and chuck in the Europa league / league cup as well and then I would make a statue of him 🎉🎉

Wenger transformed english football with a professional approach we have not seen before. Like nutrition and sports science. Winning 3 leagues as well as never finishing outside the top 4 also was incredible. Personally, I do not rate the "invincibles" that much, because 90 points isn't that much compared to other teams in history. The only issue is that Wenger left on a bad note, which influences peoples judgement. And yes, never winning the Champions League surely hurts his legacy. At the moment Wenger still is a greater Premier League legend imo. However, the difference is not as big. Specially, if Klopp is going to extend his trophy collection at the end of the season. We have to wait a couple of months to judge his achievement I guess.
