During a recent trip at the Salvage Auction, I came across a bunch of really interesting cars; a Tesla Model 3, crashed Range Rover, a couple of Classics, but the most interesting one was a Porsche 911 Turbo. It was one that would sell pretty cheap, but it was hit very hard and contained a salvage title...

@@criticalevent not really. Initially insurance cars inventory was down for a few months, but it's heavily picked back up and wholesale dealer car inventory has been constantly growing

I always love these walk around videos. And I love how you try not to destroy or make any damage worse. I see other people that do these videos ripping off crash tape to look in windows and forcing doors open making door gap damage. They dont care that they just forced an un damaged door into a bent fender adding $1000 to the repair bill for someone.
All the marks on that jeep are done by a collision estimator. It's called mapping a car, they mark all the previous damage and involved damage on the car and photograph it to cover themselves while the car is in the shop and to show insurance how bad the previous damage is when they are deciding the value of the car to and if it will be totaled or not.
Saab 9-3 is not a Subaru WRX That’s the 9-2x. The Saab 9-3 Aero Wagon is a beast... V6 turbo with a manual transmission. I love mine. Built in Germany at the Opel factory.

that thing on the SC 430 is not a gun holder, it's an old school anti theft lock, it locked the shifter in place, so if a thief got in, they couldn't put it in gear

Many years ago Toyota and GM shared a plant in California called NUMMI for New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc where Corollas and Prisms rolled off the line.

@@robertklasson5885You're right, they do exist. I just checked TS data and I found 2 9-2X Aero, both imported. Also three labeled 9-2X non-Aero. TS data isn't always the best so there may be more with variations in naming. One thing for sure, there aren't a lot of them here!
adding: there are quite a few 9-7X variants - about 120 total in the country, though I didn't check if they were avställda
Gotta take exception to the comments regarding the '90's Nissan Z. The model is Z32. Power in the NA model was 222 listed, and about 230 with a K&N air filter. Power in the Twin Turbo (TT) model was listed at 300, and some folks reported about 320 with a K&N air filter. They were NOT drag or tuner cars by the definition we use today - the suspension setup was for cruising. A TT model could be modified easily to get 400hp with two .035 welding tips in the vacuum lines that controlled the turbo wastegates. Beyond that, you could - and still can - buy modded ECU's that support bigger turbos and fuel injectors. Their time was really from 1990 through 1996 in the US, but continued to be sold in Japan up into the early 2000's. The major drawback was that the engineering was top end at the time, and parts and labor for repairs in the US were on a par with Mercedes and BMW. They can last for xxx,xxx miles if cared for properly, but your wallet should be pretty big to do that. Big fan base online helps with repair tips, parts and sources.
I have a 2018 5 series just like that one. Those seats were a nearly $5k option that year. In order to get ventilated seats, you had to get the Luxury seating package which includes nappa leather and 18 way power adjustable seats. The car is an amazing DD! BUY IT!!

The Prizm was built in a joint venture between GM & Toyota at NUMMI in Fremont Ca.
Yup, the Prizm was made on the same factory line in Fremont as the Toyota Corolla. "Geo" was created as a subdivision of Chevy which lasted until the nameplate was dropped in mid-1997. After that, the Chevrolet Prizm was sold until the 2002 model year.
The Prizm was basically a rebadged Toyota Corolla. After the plant was closed, it ended being sold to Tesla and now the Tesla Model S is built there.

9-2x Aero is the Subaru WRX rebadge, that 9-3 Aero you were looking at has a 2.8 V6 Turbo, tuned they're very fast. I've had mine for over 4 years and has been *knock on wood* very reliable!

Had a saab 9-3 manual sedan in red that I restored after original owner could no longer drive. Kind of a barn find with low miles that needed love. Also had a 9-3 aero auto convertible in lime yellow metallic at the same time. Loved them. Great cars.

I love those Nissans! It's actually a 300ZX Z32 (1989-2000) and not a Z31 (1983-1989), and has a quite respectable 280 horsepower and 276 torque with the twin turbo. And a fun historic fact about the car, it was the first car designed in CAD using a Cray supercomputer!
Based on model years it's '90-96, '84-89. '83 model year you'd be looking at the S130 280ZX. The S130 turbos stand out if the OEM "Swastika" wheels haven't been recycled and from the turbo whine while it goes nowhere fast. The Z32 TT's tells are splitter gills and a duck tail. '84 Z31s have OEM 4 lug hubs unless it's an anniversary edition turbo, subsequent years all had 5 lug.

I like the Fiat Abarth, I just hate that the automatic assumption is that it's unreliable mechanically. Now I just turn away from them now because even if it werent you'd just keep hearing people complain about how bad it's supposed to be.
I don't know specifically about the 500, but with Fiats in general (Seicento, Punto, Panda... and so on) the engine* is pretty much the only thing you can count on. The rest of the car will fall apart well before the engine dies.
*FIRE engines will all leak oil from the rocker cover gasket and from behind the coil packs, but that's how you know there's oil in it.
Fiat made some great cars. I've owned several and worked on more.
Saab 9-2x = WRX, not the 9-3x
I had a ‘91 Z32 N/A in 2003. I liked it, but it was constantly breaking.
A 300ZX becomes a death missile if you try to drift it. The Z has snap oversteer but it’s better than an MR2. I’ve experienced snap oversteer in both cars and in both cases, it’s easier to let the car spin.
When auto magazines did track tests and comparisons, it wasn’t uncommon for the Z to not finish

Hey Sam that mul-t-lock lock is a gear lock...we sold a lot in the 90s ..they locked the gears and were set up for various models of cars .....sold lots to Africa ......best form of anti theft back then no doubt
I was offered a 996 turbo a few years ago for £18 000. 100 000 miles and the doors didn't line up straight. Decided I didn't need a Porsche that badly.

@@PuerRidcully not really porsche only sells body parts to audi certified collision centers for 991,992 chassis and up cars (13_present) took 6 months in 16 to fix mine w a minor front end (looked like bumper and one fender) and that was almost totaled.

I found the Bel Air on copart, and the site says the car had rear end and frame damage, so you'd probably have to look under the car to see what the damage was. Might have been rear-ended at some point.
By the way if you're ever looking for someone to do grunt work on your cars I'm not far off from you. I'd love to be able to help with anything I'm mechanically inclined and can deduce a lot of issues

The markings (x’s) are called blue printing. Shops do this to identify old damage and to identify what panels need repair or replacement
That Turbo was actually PDK, not Tiptronic, and had Sport Chrono, so it would actually be quicker than the manual.
