i think you mentioned this in a video about helpers, but it puts a smirk on my face knowing that you not only respect jed, but you respect OTHER welders helpers as well. just comes to show that when you say "just workin and hangin out with your best buds" you really mean it.
That looked awesome buddy. Lot of fun I bet. Can't wait to jump in soon. Great video thanks for sharing keep EM coming stay safe be blessed stay on the $$$$
What’s up!? Saying hello from Amarillo! Thank you for all your videos. They are an inspiration for me and help me as I’m making my way through school. I’m ready to get going! Just bought my first welder too! Miller Trailblazer 325 and I love it. Keep up the great vids.
That was great man I shared that video with my oldest son he's a welder to he weld in Arkansas that was pretty cool great little stroll down memory lane for me and you're right about that grilling and cooking lot of good food been ate out on the right away . This is Huffman welding from the Ozarks
Been enjoying watching the videos on your CZcams for a few months now. I’m in welding school now with about a month left to go. Your videos are really making me want to just come be a helper on the pipeline. Learn while making some good money. Can’t beat that right.
Miss that Big Time. Was a Helper . Before breaking out. Commercial Oilfield. Most say to be a helper on pipeline for one year. No matter what your experience level. Even a Rigwelder. If you want to pipeline wash those dishes for one year. Before you open your restaurant.
.....so what you are saying is, you gotta scratch someones ass for a year, before getting a real job? I don´t understand why a welder need a helper. Where I´m from, if you lay down the weld, you do your own clean up. Seems to me, that some welders - mayby not you, sir - acts like little princesses.... But it might be me, not understanding the way its done in your country. (note: none of this is meant too offend you, sir......)
It’s all about speed brother. If you add up all the time grindin/Buffin/ grabbing new rods etc, it takes its toll especially over say a 50mile ROW that may have 300/400 or whatever welds on it. Time is $$ playa and everyone out there is Huntin that money! Great video bro keep it up!
Garrett Basta if you’re on the field like in this video you do need a helper the welders job is only too weld and the helper makes the process faster with grinding and buffing etc. cause if a welder does it all it will take a toll on your body
Welding boss gave me and another helper a shot to test first of February. We had to weld up some nipplesfor him yesterday on some 12" .500wall puddle cap with 8 nicks. All broke clean!
Wasn't ready for it to be over! AND Now I got some ??? 1. Can you explain about getting grounds and what you use on the pipeline and the hooch? 2. I noticed in a dewalt ad that some of the grinders are listed as AC/DC and wondered what current your welder supplies to run them? Another really good video. Good see Jeb and Thank the crew you welded with for their time on the videos I appreciate the chance to see this. If it wasn't for skilled tradesmen we still be huntin with stones!
Hey man, I'm just getting ready to graduate from a welding school here in SC, and I plan on going to the pipeline. Every pipeline rig ive ever seen has had a Lincoln SAE250-300, never any Miller Big Blues or PipePros. I myself am I Miller fan, but have never welded with a Miller engine drive. Whats your opinions on Miller Engine Drives? Does anyone on your pipeline run one?
Good pipeline video. You guys seem to be having fun! Can you tell me where to buy one of those units that are attached to the welding leads that are used to control the amps while welding? I think it is a remote amp control. I see videos where the welder is telling his helper "up" then "down" to change the amps with this small box. Thanks.
fastbusiness you half to see if your machine is an sa200/250 and is not have a local/ remote switch It will have to be rewired because on those machines it goes the 120v outlet and then goes to The reostat so you can override
fastbusinessif you a small machine like mine it's a ranger 250.you can order remote for those also.just have to get a hold of Lincoln website....shade tree welder gives a better explanation.thank you shade tree welder
Ima combo hand out here on the power plants I have my rig 1/2 done I have a 250D leads stinger ground and basic hand tools I'm trying to get out there hopefully Odessa Texas is my way in
Even old and kinda crippled up, love the way your videos make me want to get out and weld. I was ok at welding but these videos of yours make me realize how much better I could have been. Keep em coming please. There was a small section of pipe I could see from the highway. They were working just like your videos. I have seen tons of pipe on trucks on the highway, green coated, beveled ends ! Always kinda wondering, now I know thanks to you.
You guys make me wish I was 21 and fresh out of the Army again, so I could try what y'all are doin! Yeah man! Well I do have a question for you, if I may? Do these lines that are sitting on these stacks of 4x4's get buried or does another crew come by afterwards and put some sort of permanent support under the pipe? Also, are there different welding procedures for burying the line or leaving it exposed? Thanks for your videos and helping to build America! God bless and keep you safe! Peace.
patrick farley , after the pipe gang and firing line come through coating comes through after all welds are shot, ditching comes, then lowering in, hdd, tie ins, back fill etc. There's a lot more to it than one would think.
pipeliner 03 Thanks for the reply. Actually, after having been an Army Combat Engineer and then into the construction trades, the amount of hands on any given project is not lost on me! See now, my only experience with pipelines was my military training on protecting ours and blowing up there's!😉 Still curious if there are different welding procedures or materials used if the line will be buried or exposed? Thanks in advance!
Typically pipelines are api1104. Downhill test with a bell hole or Arkansas bell hole and Branch test, I guess it just depends on the gas company but typically it's 1104 because it's faster. Ive seen where they want lo-hy for repairs which called for a lo-hy test. My experience is the only pipe exposed or above ground is at stations and valve settings.
good video Jake hey you need to come over to the better contractors that don't run y'all s trucks on the front end check out MPG Pipeline contractors been with them for 4 years now they are the best I've worked for we could use ya now.140 miles 16-20" west tx I'd like to see you n Jed get in with us n our weld boss Dennis Miller is the finest you'll ever work for.contact me for his #.
leads are sometimes trip hazards, and they're orange so they don't blend in with the dirt or anything like that. also, they might just come like that lmao
Robert Atwood classic300 HE it’s a great little machine!! And the hoods I like them so much Cody is going g to come over to the camper and explain how to get them and the technology behind it. There impressive man worth every penny
In order to start on the top at the same time a helper has to hold the grasshopper on the side tell the first rods are burned. After that we put it on the top. And he is done.
Gawd I miss the pipeline! Best job I’ve ever had. Loved when y’all filled for the caphands, 💪🏾🤙🏾
Loving what you do is my definition of success . Another day in paradise. Awesome video man.
i think you mentioned this in a video about helpers, but it puts a smirk on my face knowing that you not only respect jed, but you respect OTHER welders helpers as well. just comes to show that when you say "just workin and hangin out with your best buds" you really mean it.

helpers make no where near as much as the welders.... but most of the time you have to become a helper before being a welder anyways....
Bro! Your videos are persuading me to get on the "R.O.W" haha awesome videos brotha.
All American Jake, love it!!

@@kristianskov4841 cause these guys are doing miles a day. It's a welding assembly line.
If you can weld you don't need to be a helper.

rigwelders are the most important part of the construction world,,,without us you have worms thats it!
You wouldn’t be able to weld shit without juice.
Sweet gig 🤙🏽

In order to start on the top at the same time a helper has to hold the grasshopper on the side tell the first rods are burned. After that we put it on the top. And he is done.
