  • Ever wonder how to take apart the top end of the 850 E-TEC engine?
Don't forget to use the repair manual, and the necessary special tools too!
Like playing hockey, it's not actually as easy as it looks!

Take a look at the vakhitov engine, and leave comments.

I feel like this is how engineers think this stuff works. It obviously just comes apart soooo easy. just a click here and a click there.... And maybe it does when its not jammed into the sled. None of this comes off this easy. This is one of the worst sleds to work on. I still love me some skidoo but man, its absolutely awful to work on this machine.

Actually, once you have done a few, the Gen 4 motors come out very easily, I think the easiest of any of the Ski-Doo chassis since the ZX which did not have the pyramid structure. These are not bad to work on at all.

Figured it out. In case anyone else with the same issue reads this. It was my plugs. despite the last set only having about 300 miles on them. Replaced them and good as new again.

@@brptraininginstitute8878 agreed. Easiest engine to pull in years. Everything remains on the engine and you can work everything on the bench. Thanks for the specs.
