Checking valve seat condition with your ears

When rebuilding a 4-stroke engine, make sure to take the time to listen to the sound a valve makes when it drops back down on the seat. It should be clean and crisp.
Listen to the difference a little bit of valve lapping makes to the sound. We could have done more grinding, but it shows the general result.
