The national debt isn’t hard to understand… the gov makes money via taxing the public. If gov spends more than they make in taxes, debt increases. The reason we can be in so much debt is exactly the same as someone holding a huge personal credit card debt, as long as you make the interest payments it’s fine.
Doesn’t mean it’s smart necessarily.
