We will see how it can be used around the studio, office or house to clean up cable runs that are needed regularly in your day to day work. We'll see what it can do and how they are put together, but more importantly, I'm sending this pair out to a viewer so we can see how they are used in the real world!

    I was just thinking about this my high school band is treating and renovating a garage RN. There is a loft above the room so I was thinking about maybe making a small control room then running audio between the garage (which would be a live room) and the loft for recording. I saw devices like this on a Dave Rat video which made me familiar to the concept of audio over Ethernet . This is perfect for what I am looking for. It would eliminate alot of headaches, instead of running 150ft of xlr cables linked together or a snake up a flight of stairs I could just run cat 5 cables.

    This is such a great find! Me and a few friends transformed their basement into a podcast/streaming setup and were thinking about building a podcast desk with some XLR inputs on the sides of the desk and have the audio wires run underneath that and the rugs into the control rig. This here would make for a much more cleaner setup!

    Just found your channel. I wish I was here earlier. We are repurposing a space for a church and we really need these gadgets to make everything work properly. That said, I have really enjoyed the information on this channel. We will be able to save so much money

    Sorry I missed this.
    I need to run audio to an island and cannot drill big holes through the floor. This looks like the perfect solution for my needs

    I'm building a mic booth to work from home and in the market for a wall plate setup. This would definitely come in handy!

    If The Rat Man made one designed with weather resistant covers and intended to be installed in an outdoor environment I could use several of them at The Ocala Drive-In here in Florida .

      I’m not sure if they have done any testing or know of any customers doing it, but plates like this typically go into outdoor rated boxes you can buy for the situation at hand.
      One person’s definition of waterproof may not meet the next person’s needs after all. I’ve used tons of Dante systems that are typical plates in outdoor boxes in gardens and atriums etc. so these should be just as easy ✌🏼

      I have done some home made stuff here by installing the components inside of a hinged PVC enclosure and so far it has worked well . These ,however , would provide a much more elegant solution if they were made to be under a typical outdoor recpt. cover.

    I’m remodeling my church sound and I think this would be an amazing opportunity to run cables for cheaper. How can I get a pair so I can do a video for churches that are looking to innovate there sound system.

    With SuperCAT Sound Tails RJ45 or any other product are you aware of a way to add an on/off switch that would allow the 4 mics to be "muted"?

    • @DcSoundOp
      @DcSoundOp  Před 2 lety

      There is no off the shelf product I know of that can mute a Cat snake like this. Maybe ask Dave Rat over on his channel if he's got any ideas, since these are his design - czcams.com/channels/_nJM07b0k7C9CvcM-9OH6w.html

    Hello, I’m new to all this and just wanted an explanation of what a xlr wall box is used for in a studio? I’m thinking about purchasing 2 stellar labs 6 female/ 6 1/4 jack wall plate for my studio but wanted a bit of an insight first.

      The difference is simply that these use shielded CAT5 cable instead of traditional cabling. So easier cable pulls, no soldering, you can stack them to create a split pretty quickly. It really depends on your situation if these would be the right choice over a traditional panel. With all the 1/4" you're looking for, I'm not sure these would be the simplest choice for your setup.
