Always start w the center panels and work your way outwards on each side. The center panels set the whole side.
I highly recommend Tapcon anchors to secure the gazebo or pergola if its concrete.

10 plus years of assembling, maintaining, moving fitness equipment and this has been my go to! But it takes some practice and skill to not cross thread or round out screws/ bolts. I also found out early that Dewalt 12v system is way lighter and powerful enough to handle all assembly needs.

Last year we installed a similar 10x12 one. A nail set puch was really useful to align the roof pannels before screwing them down. And yah we used screwdrivers with Allen key bits, it was quite a workout! Thx for all the videos!

I installed (by myself!) the 10x12 purple leaf gazebo this weekend (during constant rain)- your video was the best one that I viewed. You provided actual close up installation video and tips on installation - the highlights for me were not tightening hardware (leave "loose") installing the roof in stages and to work from the middle panels first (so screws could be installed and reached!) also location of the ladder - all great comments and suggestions. I hired our long time builder to dig footings and he was astounded that it was "perfectly square" when he measured - I never touched a level - just the followed the directions and your "tips" - thank you so much!

Using the drill is a must, if you want to be even faster and happier while building go ahead and pull all the hardware out of the plastic and put it in some labeled plastic bowls or get some of the metal magnetized trays to hold them. That way you not trying to look at the labels on the front of the plastic after the back is open and you're not struggling to get the screws free from the plastic the whole time.

I just finished assembling one of these (different brand but same concept) a few days ago... Your drill bit suggestion was a life saver! Not to mention I also learned the purpose of those number settings on drill... 34 years old, been using power tools since my early teens and only just learned that haha.
Thanks so much for the tips!
I'd like to also advise, be careful with some of the aluminum parts can bend / pinch easy and if they do.... You're not going to be happy. I had to bend / fix several parts that the roof panels slid on.
I also want to say... Instructions said 3 people.... Did it with 1.5 (my mother helped and she claims she is only worth half a person haha. Overall it wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

@Home RenoVision DIY I have almost the same Gazebo from Costco and some of the center roof panels are not bolted down on both sides but held down by the adjacent panels... If you are in a windy area like I am, that doesn't work. Since i am not interested in searching for my gazebo roof in the neighborhood, I tied them down with zip ties to the frame. Holes for the ties to go through are already stamped in the panels. Little hack great benefit.

Good build! Took you more than 3h30 (more like 4h30). Gazebo assembly's are all different even if they look similar so make sure to always follow every step of the manual in order to prevent losing time. (Check twice, install once).
Also, this is a very simple model, don't get fooled into thinking they are all this fast. The fast majority of models of 10 x 10 will take a good 5-6 hours with the proper material.

We wound up buying our garage shelving units to use as scaffolding to work above hot tub. What a process! Yes everything stays loose till final step . Don't forget gloves with metal sheets. I reckon a locking type bit for an impact driver would be even a little better than the magnetic screwdriver bits, but of course you would have to know the sizes beforehand because they are usually sold individually and are more expensive.

I'm gonna catch flack for this, but I couple the allen key bits with a 4V screwdriver (Ryobi) when assembling furniture. The reduced power prevents over-torqueing the fastener / stripping the threads when you run the drill in high speed. As you say; right tool for the right job.

I had an ikea drill which was small, that I think would perform a similar function. They had a screwdriver too but I never owned it. I used that drill so much and it was so handy, even while travelling in a small campervan. I tried to fly it back from the UK with me but it was confiscated because the battery isn't removable. Damn I miss that thing... (we don't have ikea in New Zealand yet).

@@TonisuperflyTSA should have a shipping option for all that have items they would like sent on. I lost a nice pocket knife, I heard of a woman that lost a family heirloom antique sewing kit. The post office sells boxes that let you ship whatever fits inside for a standard price. It's really irresponsible on the government's part.

Can you show me where you bought that jackpots please. Just put up the exact same gazebo with my dad. Your video helped us through 2 speed bumps (instructions skipped steps at some points). Thank you for that good sir.
P.S. as soon as I saw the amount of screws I ran to get my drill 😂

What is the exact name for the brace that was used for supporting heavy loads?

Almost 20 years ago I had to replace the buckets and brackets p\on a mail sorting machine. There were 120 of these and each had a2 10mm bolts. I went over and found a crap 10mm nut driver and sawed the handle off. I then used a battery drill with that "socket and did all tthat work ion jig time.
I just hand threaded the bolt on a thread or two and then used the driver to tighten everything down. All the threads were clean because we had just removed the bolts so we didn't need any power to "chase" threads. We got all those done in 2-1/2 hours because of the time saved y using the driver.
    Work smarter not harder.

Ever thought about opening a private "contractor school" where you'd write courses to teach people efficient technique and have instructors read them to students? It's a rare talent to be able to explain it the right way, as you obviously can.

I have talked with several people who have had their gazebo roofs leak. Would a bead of something like a flexible (silicone?) caulk be effective in stopping leaks - used as the roof panels are installed and joined together.

Great video. I wanted one of these from Costco, but after my area got 16-27 feet of snow last winter, im scared it wouldnt stand up to the punishment. Even with me brushing off snow. (Definitely wrote this before the end of the video 😂)

Put a similar one up in our backyard last year. Doing the roof panels was a pain, probably because we tightened everything down first. Now I know...

I just had one of these installed! It looks beautiful, but my only concern is that there is a little wobble in give when you push on the legs. It’s not a lot it just concerns me the Highwinds might be able to move it. It is bolted to my concrete slab two lag bolts in each leg. Is this normal? Help

Don’t plan on doing it myself, but your good tips will alert me to the “competency” of the installers I hire to do the job (right, I hope). Btw- Lowe’s dept store installers quoted me $1,000 and that included securing the posts.

18 minutes into the video and I am thinking you, a master carpenter, could have made this out of wood, painted it, and been grilling steaks already. Lol 😂
