I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who is going through a hard time with his daughter and got to pray with him in this moment. We both admittedly suffer from a lack of knowledge of what it means to connect with and minster to the women in our life. We both realized we don’t have think much of how to be there for the guys in our life but it is an effort and commitment to show up in the same way for the women in our life. Then I turn to media for answers and examples and here you are. Thank you!

I'm currently spending hard earned money undoing my family of origins contempt towards mistakes. IM grateful for this beautiful example of black fatherhood.

I still pray for her, because she’s got that “saving the boy” complex when it comes to her baby brother, and I just know when she rebels as a normal adolescent some bad boy is going to be standing by to try to play on that. But her good upbringing and the lord will prevent it from bringing her down. No weapon that is formed against the shall prosper.

Nothing like a father-daughter relationship. I was truly a daddy's girl, especially since I was the baby of the family. He got older and more settled in life and probably spent more time with me than any of my older brothers and sisters. I cherish those times and memories! It's so important to have that connection with each child. I'm a single mother of two preteen boys and a five year old girl. They are so different. It can be overwhelming for me but they remind me that its worth. Show them love of self, each other, and the world. I have been watching since your boys were little and I so appreciate the love I feel through the screen. You give me hope in being a present, continually learning and openingly loving parent. Thank you from my family to yours.

When I was young, my dad would say that girls eventually fall out with their mum after puberty so then we'd be close later. He has no sisters, no nieces, no other daughters, and he's not close with his female cousins so I don't know where that info came from but it definitely didn't come to pass 😂 I picked up guitar just to have something in common with my dad or we would never spend any time together. He was originally so excited about me learning guitar but the last time we talked about guitar, he was telling me how much better my brother was than me (he wasn't even learning guitar, he was learning bass!) and how much faster he picked it up. It broke my heart and making music, which I genuinely loved, has become really hard.
All this to say, you admitting that you don't like baking but taking the time to bake Anaya's favourite dessert was everything. I am joyous for her, to have you as a father. And it gives me hope that the family I was raised in won't be the family I will raise my kids in. Thank you and God bless, from the other side of the world

Im just like Anaya when it comes to sweets, especially brownies 😂😋. I gotta get a brownie now😂. Love you and Anaya's bond. Yall remind me of my Dad and I when I was a kid. He was my Dad, my hair stylist, my friend, my play student (I'd pretend to be a teacher), my play tea partner, helped w/ school projects, etc. He isnt perfect but these memories are extremely important, but more important is how she sees you with Mom. THAT is everything

Thank you for sharing this simple and beautiful time spent with Anaya. As someone who lost her father suddenly at the age of 9 and still misses him over 40 years later, this video was heartwarming. I ask you to stop saying that it was a fatherhood fail when you didn't bake brownies with Anaya when she asked previously. Lovingly setting and sticking to boundaries and standards are good things for us all at any age. I say with confidence that your daughter loves you more than brownies 🤣. And of course, I want to see another video with all the kids - particularly my boyfriend, Uzi! God bless you all.
