Did this today on my wife’s pathfinder that differential was such a pain. No room but 2 12” extensions and a 3/8” wobble i was able to get the full plug off with better leverage past the crossmember. Again pain.. just no room, got it done. For the rear i removed the spare for more room and better access to fill plug. Thanks for the video.
Exactly what I was looking for. Straightforward with commentary. Perfect for the diy mechanic.

@@haroldbeauchamp3770 thank you 🙏
The tube won’t fit in the fill plug for the front transfer case .
Very helpful. Thank you!
You're very welcome.
Thanks for sharing, your video was very helpful 👍👍👍
You're welcome. I'm glad that helps.
Thanks
Couple important things to address. You swapped transmission pan and engine pan, engine oil pan is the bowl looking one on passenger side and tranny pan is driver side, obviously don't drop your tranny oil when you want to change engine oil. On the rear differential you called the fill/overflow hole the drain hole and were surprised when oil didn't come out, it shouldn't lol. Super important, both of those gear oils should be gl-4 for hypoid gears, using standard gear oil is not good for the hypoid gear inside either the transfer case or the differential.
You got it backward the pan on the pass side is for engine and the one on driver side is transmission
You are right. Sorry I was using front camera on my phone. Good catch!
How many liters you need for the transfer case oil 80w90?
How do you know if you have front or rear differentials or both? Can't find it on my owners manual. It's a pathfinder 4wd if that makes a difference.
If it’s a 2013+ pathfinder awd/4x4 it has both.
75-90 owners forum says it works OK for the transfer case and the rear diff btw if you can't get 80-90.
Good to know. Thank you
Front passenger side drive axle seal is leaking is that same as transmission oil or i should use gear oil on it?
I believe it should be differential/gear oil
just excellent dude!!
btw what is that yellow fill tube called that you use to fill differential fluid?
Do you mean the transmission fluid pump?
I need to replace the fill plug on the rear differential. Do you know the part#?
No, unfortunately I don't. If you call Nissan, they should be able to help you.
So both gear oils are the same per say? And used for front and back?
I would say yes, but for transfer case fluid/oil, Nissan recommends to use conventional fluid. I guess you can use both conventional oil if you want to use same oil for both
Hi, how much oil does the transfer case take? Thank you
Not much. About 0.33 qrt
The O’reillys shit is actually pretty decent
Is there a front diff? Or is the front diff and transfere case the same oil change?
Rear one. Nissan recommended transfer fluid GL-5 80W-90 and differential GL-5 75W-90.
Hola, cuanta cantidad de aceite lleva la caja de transferencia? Gracias
1 quarto , le llenas hasta q derrame y listo
How much quart does it take to fill the differential?
If I remember correctly, it is 1 3/4 pint or about 0.875 quart
Nice video. You didn't show how to unscrew transfer case. Is it difficult to do it?
Yeah, I have issue with my camera. I thought I made a video, but it was a photo shot only.
It should be easy to open. You have enough space to open it. Thanks for watching, please help me subscribe to the channel.
I thought you could use regular automatic transmission fluid for the transfer case?
I won't do that. Transfer case fuild is a bit ticker than regular automatic transmission fluid
@@NorCalOutdoor which do you recommend?
@@brandontyler9278 I use MasterPro, but other brands, such as Mobil 1, Valvoline, or others are good, too
@@NorCalOutdoor ok thanks, one last thing how often do you replace your transfer case and differential fluids?
@@brandontyler9278 between 30k-45k
Shouldnt the car be level?
Yes, it's better if the car is on level position, but it's hard to access it if I don't put it on the ram.
WHAT YEAR IS THIS CAR?
2015
I hope you got somewhere eventually! 😂
If you don't know the trans from the oil pan or where any of the plugs are, why are you making a video?
+why on earth do you list threadlocker for an oil change!
Did you watch? This is not for transmission fluids
It would be nice if he could speak the English language properly.
