Zaheer could be a skilled airbender, but Tenzin is a Master.
True, he could totally destroy them all one on one
Well zaheer was a bender just for 1 or 2 months and he almost matched with Tenzin who was a bender for what...60 years.
@@davidvalenzuela6900 i mean he didnt really "matched" he wasnt even able to get one shot on tenzin in a 1v1 he was just running away from him while tenzin was chasing him and beating on him the whole time of course zaheer is good but tenzin is leagues above him
@thelastingmoment Zaheer was already dangerous withour and bending and it would be safe to assume he was a martial artist which bending is similar to. He could also just be a prodigy.
@@davidvalenzuela6900In what universe did he match tenzin
Tenzin is a badass. He was holding his own against 3 red lotus members. And then P’Li started stream sniping 🙄
He coulda took all down tbh but P’Li gave him hella trouble
@@Uh_0h_zilla I don’t think so. He definitely would’ve put up a good fight but I think he would eventually lose the 1v3. When P’li started attacking too he didn’t stand a chance unfortunately.
@@Uh_0h_zilla air benders can’t beat earth benders really, they are too strong physically and earth cannot be moved by air
@@pwners4u I don’t think that’s true. The four elements themselves are evenly matched but the benders aren’t. It depends on who is more skilled.
@@pwners4u Aang was having a good fight with Bumi using only air, y'know? Sure, Bumi was holding back, but that was still impressive
Tenzin: It's too late...he's Zahere
Wow lol
Zaheer... Zafar.. Zawheeenever you aaareee
One thing I like about this episode is the subtle ways they show that, while Zaheer is a prodigy, Tenzin is a master. Zaheer had to do all that parkour to get to the roof. Tenzin knocked his feet out from under him and got up there in one hop.
You could really feel Tenzin's skill.
Red Lotus teamwork vastly underrated. Each one of them contributed and the overall strategy was effective in getting what they wanted. Zaheer stalled Tenzin, Ghazan and Ming Hua took care of Bumi and Kya, and mobile sniper platform (P'Li) not only stopped the airbenders from escaping, but mopped up and delivered the decisive blow to Tenzin. A team of antagonists actually acting like a team...enjoy it now because you don't see it very often anywhere else.
Zaheer was tryna fight tenzin not stall him, and he was getting his ass beat
I think Amon can still solo red lotus if Pli is in range. But understandably she will be far away
I'm just sad that we didn't get their backstories. I blame the Nickelodeon executives most of all. Just how the hell are we gonna fit all this in just 7 or 12 episodes? We need to see their origins and why they became the organization we see today. Just like how the ATLA episode Zuko Alone shows us Zuko's childhood and more mysteries surrounding his mother and his sibling rivalry with Azula. Whether it is in a future Avatar Studios production or a new Avatar Korra comic series, we need a full depth Red Lotus origin story!
@@Erik_Montesinos If Mako can break his bloodbending by sheer will, Zaheer absolutely can. Without blood bending, Amon isn't that strong.
@@gerardlacroix6015 mako didn’t break his blood bending his fingers were upwards so he could lightning
"As long as I'm breathing it's not over" always make me silent cry
this was probably the most stressful episode for me throughout the whole series because the stakes were just too high... omg. aang's kids and kai really just took charge and i was so proud of them. and i love that you're starting to notice that asami is slowly becoming korra's biggest support system. ❤️
My eyes rolling all over when they said Korra and Asami have been together a lot lol.. girl, you haven't even see it yet
Tenzin put up a good fight though, like a true airbending master, he was able to outdo Zaheer, Aang is proud.
Definitely
Yeah if the others ones didn’t jump in he definitely would’ve had zaheer’s ass right then
Tenzin did his thing in this fight. I remember being extremely surprised when I first watched this. His skill is immaculate
@@gloriafrimpong17 i mean he is a air bending master and aang’s son what you expect lol , also you Ghanaian 🇬🇭???
@@Uh_0h_zilla I knew he was really skilled obviously but he didn’t use that skill in previous seasons. And yes I am.
Every time Tenzin says "Yes I do" when Zaheer says "you don't have a choice" I break down. The power in love at that moment is unmatched. I can't.
at that moment you knew that he loved korra like a daughter. protective papa Tenzin
jinora and kai are the first two airbenders who like each other in about 200 years
Allegedly; we technically can’t prove that
@@nobodynowhere8061 we can...Before Season 3 the only Airbenders in existence was Tenzin and three of his 4 kids....
@@goat1408 Sweet home Alabama
This is the first time Meelo is seen flying on a glider by himself.
This is the first time in either series where two airbenders are shown fighting each other.
One of the airbending moves that Tenzin uses during his fight with Zaheer is similar to the one Aang performs in the opening sequence of The Legend of Korra.
The way Bumi hangs onto the branch to save Kya is similar to how Sokka hung onto the Fire Nation airship to save Toph in "Sozin's Comet, Part 3: Into the Inferno"; he was also ultimately forced to let go in order to avoid an attack.
This is Uncle Iroh's last appearance in the series.
This is Kya's last speaking role in the series.
Also: Jinora sees Kai falling from the sky / Katara sees Aang falling on "The Crossroads of Destiny"
Lol dude you're relentless, dropping cool facts on every video tho
*INTERESTING*
Well, in Sozin's comet, Sokka didn't let go to avoid an attack, he let go after Suki rammed an airship into the one they were holding onto. After the airship was below them, Sokka then let go with Toph.
"As long as i'm breathing, this its not over." :'( R.I.P. Tenzin.
Zaheer: that a challenge?
They already now he is not dead xd
@@Dragon_Azteca_12 Lol still must troll. Maybe not every viewer knows.
I never realized that what tenzin did to protect everyone must be the exact same thing Monk Gyatso and the rest of the monks did to protect the air nomads from sozin (letting them try to escape)
14:20 the “I don’t think boomerang is coming back this time”
"It looks like this is the end!"
Love, love, love the Asami & Korra bonding and support for each other.
This is always such an adrenaline packed roller-coaster ride of an episode. Great reaction!
Seeing Kaya and Tenzin battle is always a short but sweet treat; I feel like I needed much more of them in action.
Kai and Jinora, imo will be great leaders and a nice representation of the young generation & future of the Air Nation.
I like how Tenzin was actually winning when it was 1 on 1. Airbending might have come naturally to Zaheer, but Tenzin spent his whole life mastering it
A solid representation of talent & skill vs pure mastery.
It just took him a sec to figure out zaheers gimmick and adapted pretty quickly
Even in 3v1 he was holding on. I mean that moment when he parry all their attacks before Pl'i shot him... Absolute badass.
Really shows why you don’t go up against a real master.
Tenzin is also probably the only person who's had serious airbender vs airbender fight practice against his father. Zaheer wouldn't have stood a chance without assistance.
Could you imagine a scenario that when Korra reached Tenzin on the radio all she hears on the other end is the sound of the Combustion Lady’s explosion and then it just cuts out
welp lemme go start tearbending again
I love that this fight gave us contextual reference for Zaheers skill level going up against a real master and getting his ass handed to him so hard he needed both his friends to help take Tenzin down. Plus something about seeing calm diplomatic Tenzin kicking all kinda of ass is just so soothing to the soul
In Northern invasion ATLA,
KATARA : I am fully capable of protecting Aang while he is meditating.
Now in Korra,
ASAMI : I'll watch over Korra while she is meditating.
“Asami and Korra have been together a lot”
Me..... mmmmmmmmhmmmm
"They seem to be very good friends"
@@emperordaniel9595 Roommates, almost.
@@joshuajordan6278 …oh my god, they were roommates
@@emperordaniel9595 Nah, they cousins. XD
Shhhhh
Thank you for acknowledging Kya’s performance. Kya hasn’t gotten enough credit within the fandom in my opinion
I remember watching Blind Wave watching this and seeing one of them say "Come on, you're the daughter of Aang.... wait, you're thre daughter of Katara!" She is a bamf in her own right, but we forget that she learned waterbending from Katara, which is why she held her own for so long against Ming Hua and earlier on against Zaheer.
@@faureamour right!! I do wish that the writers gave her more “badass” moments where she won against a few. However, she still did great considering the things you’ve mentioned above.
@@faureamour
It should be noted that one big difference between her and her mother is that she doesn’t focus on combat as her mother did, being a healing specialist (I suspect that she took after her father in being more pacifist and thus didn’t want the extensive combat training her mother could have given her): her mother (at around her age, so late 50s) would have won both of those fights.
"uhhhmmm not enough death this season..." AHHAHAHA! Seriously! I want to collate these golden lines from my favorite girls!
Zaheer: you don’t have a choice.
Tenzin: yes I do..
Always chills
Top 10 episodes of Avatar, and my personal fave of Korra
Tenzin showing the difference between a martial artist who's just learned airbending, and an Airbending Master, is one of my favourite parts in the whole series. Zaheer would have been fucked if he was by himself.
I remember when this episode originally came out I was sobbing when they pan away from Tenzin 😭
I remember how much of a panic this episode put the fandom in when it first aired
"Hmmm not enough death this season." LMAO
"the ideology is awesome until you start wanting to massacre people" 👌🏻😂
Anytime I watch this episode and Zaheer says “you have no choice” and Tenzin replies with “Yes I do” i get chills. Not many supporting protagonists would fight back in that situation.
As long as I’m breathing this is not over
Me first time watching this: awww fuck tenzin is dead!!
I love Korra and asami’s blossoming relationship. Even from the start they didn’t have any animosity even with the love triangle stuff. And since them they’ve been growing super close to one another. It’s a nice breath of fresh air (pun intended) not having the lead girls bicker and instead having them watch over each other caringly
It CaMe OuT oF nOwHeRe!!!11!!!
@@TimothyGod shhhh we’re not there yet lol
I mean, the first description we hear about Asami from korra is a "Prissy, Beautiful, rich girl" and later, when show goes on the race track, she says that she takes back calling her prissy, and makes a face, that somewhat implies she definitely doesnt take back the other 2. and thats Season ONE
For real, that's one of my favorite choices in this show. Asami even says to Mako, "I like Korra! (But you need to be honest with me.)" Asami never held a grudge against Korra at all, and Korra quickly changed her tune when she got to know Asami for real.
@@AlephSharp I never realized this, omg.
You were right, Bumi and Tenzin’s sister is Kya! She’s named after Katara’s mother :)
Tenzin was SMOKING zaheer 1v1 Holy
Ya Zaheer thinks he’s all that but Tenzin is a true airbending master and son of Aang like dude 1v1 he would’ve finished him but he got ganged up on
And with such elegance and flair!
Asami: I'll watch over her while she meditates
Me: YES PROTECT YOUR WIFE!
Aang raised some badass kids ngl
I LOVE how this episode shows how outclassed Zaheer is againts a true air bending master like Tenzin. 1v1 it was clear that Tenzin was gonna beat him, if it wasn't for Zaheer's friends helping him, it would've been over for him.
fun fact: As long as Tenzin was fighting with Zaheer, Zaheer didn't hit him at all.
You two are gonna love episode 12!!!
If it was a one-to-one fight , Tenzin would triumph ! It’s really an unfair fight 😤
I honestly love that it's unfair. One of my biggest pet peeves is when no one other than the protagonist is competent enough to deal with the antagonist. I love that they showed that Tenzin could have won and that the only way to deal with it was by Zaheer buying time for the other Red Lotus members to win their respective fights. It's a good way for him to lose the fight while still making it clear that he's a badass.
Well that fight was fair as a pro boxer vs an amateur boxer. Zaheer was amateur, Tenzin a master of airbending, so the fight wasn't fair for starters.
@@franciscoverafricke6420 Except Zaheer was a dangerous martial artist who could already take down any bender before getting air bending.
Why would it be fair? They’re on a mission.
@@ChromaticEagle Because obviously it would be nicer if they fought fairly. No one expects them to fight fair, but we would like it if they did.
They got so tight when tenzin got ganged up on lmaooo
Everyone who ever watched Season 3 describes the last few episodes as very stressful because the writers don't let you catch a breath
the feeling i have for korra series is all of it come to this... this red lotus mental terrorism... one of the best episodes so far
THIS is the episode reaction I was waiting for, well worth it.
Asami's been with Korra alot
*Audience*
😮😶
Also, Tenzin low-key could've solo'd if Combustion Lady wasn't in the air
My man Tenzin only going down because the fight was 4 on 1.
it's also funny because so many people think kai acts like aang and jinora looks like him so if they had kids they'd be just like him
Best individual episode of Korra imo
ikr! i just CANNOT stop crying in this one
Easily top 5 episodes of Avatar
Yes
Love the video Imon Nation and ABI Nation stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
The stress on you two with this episode lol in to watch. I can NOT wait on the next episode.
Tension would beat Zaheer into the ground had the rest of the lotus not showed up. She does not get nearly enough credit for displaying his skills here
Series continuity
Iroh telling Korra that "you always seem to find something you don't know you were looking for" mirrors his wisdom to his nephew in "The Waterbending Scroll", where he says "the only thing better than finding something you are looking for is finding something you weren't looking for".
The airbending move that Tenzin uses to knock Zaheer, Ming-Hua, and Ghazan against the walls of the foyer is the same technique Daw used on the Metalbending Police Force in "A Breath of Fresh Air".
Kai disregarding his own safety to buy time for the other airbenders to escape is similar to Lin's actions against the Equalists in "Turning the Tides".
Kai being shot down by P'Li is similar to Aang being shot down by Azula in "The Crossroads of Destiny"; both cases involved a female firebender using a sub-skill of firebending to shoot down a male airbender while their female love interest watched in horror.
Kai being saved by the tree and the baby bison (presumably Lefty?) is very reminiscent of Aang's resurrection too. In both cases they were miraculously saved, providing a glimmer of hope in what was probably the most stressful episode ending of their respective series.
They thought this episode was stressful, wait till the finale😭 great reaction tho!
I remember how people were freaking the fuck out about this episode on the official facebook page for Korra LOL Oh man those were some fun times
Did Zaheer really just bring out Imon and Abi’s inner anarchism? 😂
“Not enough death this season” ha just wait!!
Ghazan is technically an earthbender. Lavabending is the sub-specialty.
Zaheer had trouble with Tenzin BECAUSE Tenzin is leagues more talented than Zaheer; Tenzin only lost because Ming Hua and Ghazan ganged up on him.
Tenzin put in that work.
If you had the chance to bend AND KEEP one of the elements what would you pick or if you could bend whatever you wanted what would you pick? here's a example like uh wood bending or paper sounds crazy but still
This is by far one of my favorite episodes of the entire series and I was super hyped for y’all to see it. Shows how badass Tenzin can be even they was beating tf outta him(which was f’d up to see)I know Edna Mode said “No Capes” but Tenzin’s robes was flowing😂but y’all just wait cause next episode....
Kya and Bumi actually did really well considering neither were trained as fighters
ASAMI AND KORRA????? KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THAT BUT YEAH WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS EPISODE I WAS ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT!!!!!!!
If Zaheer didn't have backup Tenzin would have clapped his cheeks nocap.
No sense in being robin hood when they're give it to themselves.
Mako and Bolin's grandmother is just as stubborn as my own.
Take a shot every time they say 'omg'. Good luck.
Kya is so cool
There’s a beautiful animation on CZcams of Zuko visiting Iroh in the spirit world. Highly recommend watching.
Guys who defeated red lotus first time I totally forgot
I still remember the week wait after this episode premiered online.
Goofs
When Korra and her friends discuss what to do about Zaheer's ultimatum, the overhead shot shows Naga sitting up with her head held high. When the shot changes to an eye-level view of Team Avatar, Naga has her head lowered, although not enough time passed for her to have moved.
When Korra wakes up from meditating, the front of Asami's jacket is entirely black, with only the rims being red, whereas her jacket normally has more red accents on the front. The Future Industries insignias are also missing from her shoulders.
When Ming-Hua is threatening to kill Opal and the angle moves to an overview shot from behind Kya and Bumi's back, Daw is suddenly standing to the left of Kya, which should not be possible as he was, at that moment, being detained by Ghazan.
In some scenes during Tenzin and Zaheer's conversation, Tenzin's cape is missing its pin.
When Zaheer, Ming-Hua, and Ghazan are initially blasted away by Tenzin, Zaheer is holding his staff in his left hand. In the next shot, as Zaheer hits the wall of the temple, he is holding his staff in his right hand.
Before Zaheer jumps on the first house on the wall of the temple while dueling Tenzin, the rims of the house are blue. After the camera changes to an overview shot, the rims are yellow.
During Ghazan's fight with Bumi, Ghazan creates a small pool of lava on the floor, though when Bumi slides underneath him and jumps onto his back, the pool has disappeared.
Wow. That was a wise use of your time. Instead of just submerging yourself into the narrative and enjoying it, you catalogued every animation error in an effort to... What? I just don't get it.
@@yermatedave4930 naw I got this from the wiki man I just like going back and seeing it like oh man I didn’t even notice I’m an artist Myself don’t get me wrong I love it I just like the facts about the trivia also
@@grownmannn2 Fair. Y'know what? You do you. I shouldn't police how other people enjoy things, that ain't cool. I'd delete my comment, but sometimes a bit of evidence of your own folly is good. Peace.
This is by far the most stressful episode of the show, and I loved every minute of it. The ending with the Red Lotus cornering Tenzin always gets me.
Don't think Zaheer even laid a hit on Tenzen at all while the 1v1 was going on. He would have possibly won 1v3 too, but P'Li sniping too was a bit much.
“I love you grandma” *bear hug*
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Isn't it scary how we can support this man as he murders a queen, but when he turns his attention towards someone we care about then we decide hes bad. What does good and evil mean when we support the killing of one human over another
Zaheer believes in total freedom and abolishing all government. It was only a matter of time before we went after other leaders like Tenzin and Zuko’s daughter.
Unlike Kaya and Bumi (Even Aang), Tenzin never was a fighter. He was a erudit, a politician, a spiritual leader, and yet he is so fucking strong. My favorite character.
Tenzin was doing OK for a bit there against 3 of them
"why destroy your home" 2020: "oof" lol
I really like Abis Hair, it looks soo good. Also Tenzin would have won, if the other 3 would have minded their own Business!
Tenzin was beating Zaheer's ass with no effort. He's a boss
Caught on to Korrasami early
How do they see nothing wrong with the biggest city in the world descending into chaos?
It’s Ba Sing Se. It was corrupt 70 years ago and it’s still corrupt present day. The city probably has the worst reputation in the whole Avatar universe at the point.

I told you they ain't good, no matter how much you resonate with their ideology.
That's what I like about all the villains in Korra. None of their ideologies are inherently wrong (equality, spirituality, freedom). The issue is that they get taken to extremist levels each time.
