    So very cool. Perfect combinarion of colors and washes. The driver is amazing. I'm not sure why but I always like to see the blemishes under a beautiful paint job. It just looks cool for some reason. The underside and turbo fans look very sweet too. A true gem. Go Speed Racer Go!

    Great video but I'm kinda disappointed that you didn't keep the spinning blades

    • @DannysDiecastDisasters
      @DannysDiecastDisasters  Před 5 lety +5

      Yeah they kind of barely spun round anyway and I would have had to glue little tabs onto the new wheels. If i had glued on twice as many as the original wheels they may have spun smoother but I think it would have been a bit messy to glue the tabs on strong enough that they wouldn't just break off. I did keep the original tabbed wheels tho so it could always be changed back.

      What a precious job, boss!
      I used to restore my cars when I was a kid/teen and you brought me so many memories with your videos. Now I want to get old little wrecked cars and give them a new life. Shame the hobby does not fit my daily schedule because I die to do ir right now!!!
      If I come back to restoration, you can be sure that you have a lot to do with it.
      Keep the nice job, keep inspiring people.
      Kind regards from Spain!

    My brother and I had these 'Rolamatics' and almost every one, other than the 'Badger' with it's Radar scanner, which made sense, the gimmick got old real quick, so we used to snip the tabs off the tyres, so at least they would run properly.

    I have this one. Something about it always reminded me of that Twilight Zone episode where the guy goes to the Future or pretends to do so and brings good news back to the present. It is that good news that actually induces a positive future. I think it was the 80s Twilight Zone series. The little man in the machine I think is what reminds me of it

    I love the Rolomatic series, as I have had a few over the years, and this was cool because I have never seen this model. Just a little upset that you didn't keep the car true to its form for that reason but I can't argue with how cool those wheels look! I love the effect to the rear, reminds me of how chrome headers will turn when they get hot, and I love the attention you gave to the driver. Keep up the good work!

I would love to have been in the Matchbox board room when the designers came up with some really weird ideas, wonder what Lesley Smith and Jack Odell thought?

    Just leave "restoration" out of the title, since you took away the model's charm and features that made it unique and gave it more "dark wash and metallic weathering powder", which you seem to love and use all the time even if it's not called for. You even left out the decal. I stopped the video six minutes early to go watch some of Marty's videos.
    I know it seems like I'm ripping a bit hard, it's just some of us want honest restoration work every now and then. You have potential if you'd stop overthinking it. My turning away point was when you took out the special feature in the wheels. This will disappoint people who had this model as kids.

      Also I fail to understand how taking an old toy that no body cared about, that there are literal hundreds of thousands of examples of, and making a customized car out of it that thousands of people get to see and enjoy somehow makes it less unique.

      @@DannysDiecastDisasters Maybe I was being too harsh, I don't know. Tone doesn't come across too well when you're typing. I just felt like the model deserved a straight restoration, keeping it's turbine gimmick and nifty 80s-styled decal. Maybe I'm more of a fan of customizers like Marty who do straight-up restos, keeping the models how they looked right from the factory.
