I think that the MVP discourse in years like this, where so many guys are playing well, takes away the fact that it’s just fun to watch so many good players play.
SGA less team can still win many games than Jokic less nuggets. The OKC have so many back up guards .and SGA has pretty much the same stat last season. The okc overall team improved. But denver got bad. They loss bruce and jeff. The bench pretty much could not contribute offensively. They only have Deandre Jordan as a back up center and a 2 way guy.

This is why MVP voting is a joke. I have no dog in the fight, so I can take a step back and look at things logically. Jokic is first in nearly every single advanced stat, has lead his team to the 1st seed, a competent defender, has only missed 3 games out of 80, and is nearly averaging a 27 point triple double. Dudes like Shaq will ignore that and say “well Shai has more 30 point games”.
MVP shouldn’t go to the player with the best team.. MVP should be on a team that’s placed between 3rd-8th place..

This era has way more talent and parity than the 00s. In that era you had Tmac, Vince, Kg all on bad teams and not in position to truly compete for a title. In today's game the league is way more competitive and you have 12 teams talented enough to potentially win the championship.

@@MariMusic_ Jokic +\- is 23.9, SGA is 10.8. Not even close. Jokic beats him in every statistical category, plus team success, plus eye test impact. Luka is an easy number 2 candidate. Better in every category with only 5 less wins. More wins since all star break.
