In this tutorial Blair gives you some tips to help you learn some of the easiest skimboarding tricks. We recommend easy tricks that a beginner can learn. These tricks include some variations of the shuv it, frontside 180 and backside 180, and a couple other special maneuvers you will just have to watch the video to see.

@COACH Blair - Hey man, I I just found your videos a few days ago. I'm on the last leg (puns) of healing from heel surgery and started getting back into drop knee riding after 20+ years. Once I've got full function again (without pain), I'm likely gonna give skimboarding a go. Thanks to your videos I'm pumped! I've only been in SoCal for a year, but haven't really had a chance to enjoy the beach until now. Now I've been going every weekend for the last 3 weeks. I pretty much grew up on the beaches of Florida and forgot what I was missing. Keep up the great videos!
I got a board recently and have been practicing a bit. I been skateboarding for 14 years and the skill transfers pretty well.

Cheers Blair for making me want to get out in the surf again after an epic wipeout that almost took me out for good. Skimboarding is that ultimate combination of skating and surfing where you don't have to paddle out the back every time to catch a wave...which to be honest is pretty appealing to me so I'm going to give it a shot. I'll let you know how I progress and maybe will upload the odd vid for you to check out as I'm unofficially making you my mentor haha. Thanks for your inspiration mate

Nick Galletta this board is the best bang for your buck. You might want to hold off on buying this model because Exile is about to offer a better board for same price in late July

@@SkidKids Are there any downsides to have an "overbouyant board" for lack of a better term? Im right at 170lbs and my wife is ~120, would there be an issue if I bought the 190lbs board for her?

Blaire's such a G. I'm a brand new skimboarder and the skimming part actually came very naturally to me with a pretty natural one-step-drop and monkey crawl, but the tricks had always been a struggle 'til this video. Thanks again Blaire! Amazing... truly amazing.

McFly Boarder I would recommend buying an entry level board that has a height equivalent to the height of your sternum.
YO I watched a ton of clips but i notice your foot placement in the videos I swear it changed the game. your back foot slides back damn near every time.

Been sk8ing for over 30 years, however I can't do a basic shove on a skim.. got no pop. Does it rely on pushing the inner rail down so the board comes up?
