Build a parabolic mic from ordinary hardware, then transmit its sound to any FM radio. - Věda a technologie
It would have been cool to hear a soundtest.
Must not be a very good kit.. Adding a sound test would have been a "no brianer" if it worked well.
There's a sample audio file on the project page: makezine.com/projects/squirrel-baffle-spy-microphone/ - it is a good kit, very effective range.
Make: It doesn't work. I clicked on it. Nothing happened.
The mics don't look like they're at the focus of that parabola.
I haven't started this project, nor do I know if I'm going to, but I have a question that someone might be able to answer. If the device doesn't already do this, is there a way to limit the sound level so a loud noise won't blow out the headphones?
Could you please post some links as to where to get all the electronic materials? Does it also work with a dividing wall (I live in a two-family house...) in masonry with various thicknesses? Thank you very much.
Please tell about the complete specifications of the PC board, components and program codings..
This should have come out before radio shack went out of business.
Radioshack is still in business. I bought an led this morning.
Well technically they filed bankruptcy. The local store in my area is still around.
All the local stores here are out of business.
silentpaw
nope just the ones that dont have the customer base 4 them to stay.
I live in Canada. All our radioshack got bought out by The Source but it's all the same stuff still so you can go there
what about phase distortion of this parabolic reflector ?
I can NOT pick up these supplies at my local Radio Shack. I went there to buy some solder sick last week only to find the place locked up. What a bummer...
I would've mounted just the microphones on the inside of the dish, while keeping the circuit on the outside - that might lead to a better focusing of the sound, since the PCB is not in the way.
tbh, the whole thing is a schmu. a little offset sat antenna beats it by far, und using a tereo microphone makes absolutely no sense. :D
You have not given the detail of all the components used by you where I can purchase all of the project components especially the PCB used for amplifier
What specs should the amp be, I found one that is 60 watt would that work?
Hi
Can you help me with the circuit diagram for this project.
would and old satellite dish work just as well?
This is a nice project but I love ultra long range and considering a 72 inch skylight dome instead. ✌️
I notice that there seemed to be no attempt to establish the focal point of the reflector and place the microphone there - which is surely the most fundamental part of the design?! And why stereo when there is no stereo information from a distant point source of sound?
I can spend the link kit FM please
What are you guys going to do now that Radio Shack is going out of business?
no audio test?
Does Squirrel Baffle have truly parabolic shape? I'd be surprised if it did... But nether-less very cool and fun project!
why you use 2 microphones?
Can you send me its PCB diagram. Please
nice video
Give a whole new meaning to nosy neighbor
I want sound samples
lol, you really did cut the baffle in half, just to show how a parabolic reflector works!
A while I saw a vid about useing a kids toy spy listening device that was water proofed and ballast with a couple pennys to listen under water to detect leaks in pools
Was thatbYou guys ?
no sound test?????
Best friends be like shouting into the dish
You misspelled "Vice".
Great use of a squirrel baffle though!
Death Vise is the correct spelling in America.
Jared Shaffer I was not aware of this, my mistake then!
It's not parabolic.
What's Radio Shack?
A store that sells electronic components and electronic gadgets...
Does anyone know how neighbors can use your own satalitte dish to spy on you?
could you pease explain what is "Squirrel-Baffle"?
john papple baffles from where? where do you usually attach this thing?
I'm so confused right now :(
Call Me Squirrel You stick it on the pole, underneath your bird feeder. It makes it to where squirrels can't eat the bird food.
Magic Mike Thank you!
only if 90% of the Radioshack's where still in business.......
Drink every time you hear PVC
Scream in it!
R.I.P Radioshack
We will miss you
EDIT: Stupid auto correct
available at your local radio shack... lol
Couldn't you use a deep bowl
You need an hour for that small through-hole PCB? Anyone should be able to do that in 15 minutes max.!
OK!
Or, just maybe, one could consider that not everyone is a soldering luminary like you pretend to be.
:o I thought radioshack went bankrupt, but they're sponsoring/"powering" this ?
I am going to test mine outside an army base.
SHOTGUN
CIRCUIT DIAGRAMME????????
lol @ Radio Shack
I thought radio shack went out of business.

radio shack R.I.P
Bird calls get me so fucking solid… when I’m out with my mic a fucking ostrich could use my shit as a perch ……omg just thinking about this duck I heard the other day is really getting the blood flowin😏
We should definitely meet up and just talk cloacae 🤷♂️
I came to this video thinking I would learn how to baffle squirrels. I am disappointed.
sigh.. its a stupid circuit with a baffle.
No demonstration? Don't waste my time.
You even filmed yourself outside using it and still didn't include a sound test? Really??
Thumbs down 👎
Why do these guys think that people want to watch a dude slap together a dish on a stick and then assemble a kit. I'm probably the only one who wants to see the electronics DIY part of the builds and not the hand crafting stuff that they really suck at...
