UPDATE! Well, I told myself not to give up as I often don’t READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CORRECTLY. In my head they said to “press down” on the tab on the filter cover. Nope. The little red arrow indicates you press horizontally. Worked like a charm.
Wow! you really clean!!! Good job! Thank you I have just purchased this fountain. I have four cats. All of them keep bothering me at the bathroom sink when the water is running. So I thought it would be a good idea to get a water fountain because they seem to be attracted to moving water. Also, I want them to drink more water.
I’ve been trying for twenty minutes to get off the filter cover to no avail. Sending it back to Amazon. My first cat fountain lasted 17 years, so I think I’ll go back to that brand.

I had a problem knowing how to get the pump parts back together again. I can figure it out, I think, but I wish it had been a part of the video.

Just take the pump out ad throw it in the dishwasher
Says on the Amazon site that all components are dishwasher top rack safe except the pump.
