    Great video. It’s actually super refreshing to see a video that isn’t edited professionally and made to look like a major motion picture, it gives us a really authentic vibe and focuses on what’s important: the content and subject matter. It also makes newcomers to content creation realize they don’t need a full blown studio and editing team to put out quality content.

    Thanks Scott. This is helpful. Would love to hear your thoughts on properly practicing a course for a tournament. Do you play a hole until you birdie? Do you focus on holes you have trouble with over easier must get birdies? Do you putt around all greens or only ones with differing elevation/obstacles? Specifically looking for ideas around if you only have 1 or 2 days to practice a course. Thanks!

    Great Video yet again, still going to stick to my Forehand throws tho. Feels a lot more comfortable to me. Not to mention I am way more accurate and drive further with my Forehand then my backhands. Which might be odd? I am not sure, I have only started playing for a little over a month now.

    • @shrapnel77
      @shrapnel77 Před 2 lety

      I started in August of 21. I bought three DD's and chucked a forehand 300' first throw. I enjoyed it but my shoulder did not. I wanted to keep playing, so backhand was much more gentle on my shoulder. I threw nothing but backhands for the next couple of months. I almost exclusively play backhand. I improved A LOT, but not without throwing over a 1,000 shots in fields and courses. I still want a forehand off the tee though! I'll get there. It takes not a whole lot of time, but A LOT of practice.

    I can see what you mean about the 10% margin error comes to play when having an angle to the basket, instead of going straight.
    But as you say. It requires more power to get there. And more power usually means less control. So I am not convinced.
    Though also, going for the basket. Or going for an approach is also two different things of course.

  • @Chris.Davies
    @Chris.Davies Před 2 lety

    The pure hyzer shot is the most accurate shot in disc golf.
    It has the smallest potential landing area.
    That is why you see the pros chuck a hyzer bomb every chance they get.
    The juxtaposition is downhill shots which have the largest landing area of any throw.

    • @ScottStokelyDG

      You (basically) walk up the line the disc is going to be leaving your hand. The leaning is the angle the desk will fly on that line.

    I swear I've heard this tip but I do it the wrong method, with a wrist. I never saw good results using my core/waist for the angle. I also have a hyzer bend in my waist when I throw anything already, been a gamer too long so my back is whack. What's the best way to fix my positioning?

  • @Scalemailmailmail

  • @SamuelB-
    @SamuelB- Před 2 lety

    3:30 question, not sure if someone asked this already, or if you address this later in the video.
    You say that the margin of error is smaller when throwing at a angle. However, I find when throwing at angles, also brings in skip/roll away potential when the disc lands at an angle. Shouldn't that also factor the margin of error? Flat shots tend to more likely land level to the ground and henceforth usually have less skip/roll potential?

    • @niilolahtinen8580
      @niilolahtinen8580 Před 2 lety +1

      bringing in more variables changes the decision making. you're right, on the course you have to bring in these factors. but on a grass field the hyzer's always the easiest option, don't you think?

    Hey Scott, I hope I get a response to this. Every pro preaches this method, but when I do it, I can't comfortably fire my hips when in the bent over position. My body tends to start bend at the hip, and end up straight at the swing. How do I fix that?

    • @ScottStokelyDG
