- Russell Edgington tells the Vampire Authority to suck it when they refuse to harvest fairy blood in order to day walk. Fantastic acting by Denis O'Hare.
Excerpt from HBO series, True Blood. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
I like that Jessica is so much more shaken, obviously not used to seeing so many other very old and powerful vampires get scared.
yetanotherguitarist she don’t need to realize old vampires are strong to be afraid of him even if this guy was only a vampire for a few days old he would still be scary af
It's chilling to hear Russell's accent slip...I think that's what makes him seem more manic.
It's what makes him such an impressive actor. You should follow Denis O'Hare - he's even better in American Horror Story.
That thing when people from another country that lived for a long while in the new will slip into the old countries accent when they get excited? Yeah this was authentic for his character what with the whole 3,000 years old thing. If true, dude would have picked up too many accents.
@@dragonsword7370 My girlfriend (who is dutch) she speaks very well english without a accent but if she is upset, excited, sad when she talks especially if she talks fast her accent comes through. It's amazing.
That moment was great, that accent actually tells us about Russell 's origins. It's possible he was an ancient germanic or celt when he was alive.
Russell was the best character on true blood, bar none. He did what he wanted and wasn't blinded by anything but his own ambition. Killing him off, jumped the shark for me. Long live the memory of the King of Mississippi.
the best character my shit
Russell didn't even bother to stretch his fangs. Further proves of his superiority strength-wise; It seems he could wreck them all pretty easily
When he gets really angry, that's when the accent comes out!
lol
Was anyone else rooting for Russell? Such a good villain.
LeaveMeAloneCZcams I sure as hell was.
+LeaveMeAloneCZcams definitely!!!!!! he was my favorite and the baddest vamp ever
yeap
Loved Russell!!!
LeaveMeAloneCZcams Bill was the real villain though
I love how even in the vampire world the Japanese are still ahead by decades.
This is my favorite True Blood scene from all 5 seasons . Amazing lines and rendition from Denis. "I will not be constrained by your God or anyone else's. I will have the sun"...
Denis?
@@chrismcclure2272 Denis O'Hare is the actor playing Russell
By far the best character of the show. HBO could make an entire spin off from his character alone.
agree.
So Godric too
Definitely. They should add Godric too
Russel rules
this actor is great. When he goes into crazy mode, his speeches are so deranged, and poetic. Changes his accents in the middle of talking so insane.
Dracula wishes he was Russell Edgington...
"The first flight of the Wright Brothers lasted 12 seconds"
I never thought I'd hear a vampire with ambitions of an entrepreneur. Quite impressive.
I like how worried the others are cos they know if he wanted to he could tear them to shreds despite their numbers, and despite that Salome and Erics combined age is equal to his and despite the fact that there are 4 other vampires.
It is really demonstrated well in this scene that they all know they're alive for nothing other than the fact that Russell allows it.
I'd love the back story on him to expand on the show.
I also love how they all just stare at him in amazement too when he gets angry and switches accents lol
"You know what I wish? I wish that i had just one drop of fairy blood to STUFF IN YOUR PIE HOLE!" Superb line delivery. It's hardly a coincidence that the two best scenes of the whole 5 seasons both feature Russell Edgington.
It does sound like a French accent. Then again, 3000 years the man has been everywhere.
3000 year old french does absolutely not sound like modern french...no spoken languages of that time sounded like they do today!
@@syntaxed2 there was no french language 3000 years ago.
Your comment has been around for 8 years, and two idiots finally found it. It's obvious you didn't mean that 3000 years ago he learned French; rather that in 3,000 years he was likely to have learned many languages including French.
@@roddo1955 actually not5. There was not french language 3000 year's ago. French comes from latin, who was around at this time
More a mix of High German and Old Scots-Irish Druid.
He is so open minded and smarter than all actually. The world would have been a different place for Vampires if they listened to him.
I love when he starts talking in his actual voice very intimidating
Denis O'Hare is fucking amazing
He said that he's stronger than all of them combined, not older.
Russell checked all of their asses. Did you see all of their faces when he jumped on the table and proclaimed himself again.
I want Russel to have his own spinoff series.
Russell Edgington the best of world
i am 3000 years old.. i am stronger than all of you combined... i offered you the opportunity to share with you the greatest advancment in the history of our race and the small mindedness of your religion has litterally kept you in the dark.. you can have your lillith i will not be constrained by your god or anyone elses i will have the sun
Nothin scarier then an ancient vampire who will do anything to day walk
The expression on Erics face when Russell reverted with an accent.
I love how Russel's accent changes as he gets more angry/frustrated. One of the best scenes of the season.
LOL, Russell is pure awesome. He's my favorite vampire in the show. Salome should've known this was coming, he could've ripped her to pieces any time he wanted but was biding his time. I knew that was a mistake when she said she could put him back in the ground, lol.
I wander how russell and Klaus from vampire diaries would get along...
Klaus is a shit in front of Russell and Godric
Rest in peace Russell I lived your work
freaking great speech from russell.. can't wait for other speeches such as this1
1:45 dude went FULL on dracula
for anybody that thinks godric would kill Russell, you are wrong. godric was around 2000 years old.
Edgington is the best there was, is, and ever will be when it comes to Villains on True Blood!
Russel always was an atheist at heart.
I knew he'd fling her aside sooner or later. Really, despite how crazy Russell is, his logic is also the most rational, in my opinion. He is only wanting to advance their race to the maximum potential and daywalking would obviously be just that. This whole Lilith thing is holding them back and at least he knows it, lol. Well, Eric does too, since he's faking, although I know he won't side with Russell.
Well he killed Russell's love Talbot too so no alliance there.
yea that would be totally awesome fuck everybody else let russell have his own show i swear I will watch it everyday
just epic. incredible character, extraordinary actor
I love watching true blood it's my very best favourite of all
he is Celtic but he spent over 500 years in Germany right b4 he moved to Mississippi at the end of WW2, so it makes scene he has a prominent German accent.
Salome must really put a lot of stock in Lilith if she thought she could threaten Russell. Considering how little patience he has for anyone who gets in his way they're lucky he didn't kill them all.
ugh Dennis O' Hare just marry me, marry me now !! WHAT AN ACTOR !!! Another brilliant scene, second to his TV speech scene in season 3. I want to see a couple of scenes which show Russell's origins. And yes, he should totally have his own spin off series.
Russell’s maniacal rants are priceless😂.
R.I.P. Russel
R.I.P. Bill
Indeed: felt sad for poor old Salome, but then she was a Religious Fundamentalist. Quite comical too, Bill being a She-God.
This scene presages the current theme on True Blood. Russell was ahead of the curve, pity what happened to him - I would have liked to see him now with Billith and Warlow.
That moment when you realise the immortal 3000 year old guy is also fucking nuts...
Best True Blood scene ever the actor is amazing!
praise the sun
OMG YAS!....A Good ol' Fashioned Dark souls Reference...
Amazing acting.
I have to say, he known how to command the stage, he has that presence about him. he makes great speech.
Wow! He is a freakin' great actor!
I wish we could have seen a vampire like Russell in the t.v. series Angel. Especially if he interacted with Spike.
Yea but it's never revealed at what rate power increases with age, that's MY point.. The rate at which vampires become more powerful is never revealed. Maybe the 1st 500 years vampires don't gain much power. Maybe after 1000 years the power jumps dramatically. And after 3000 years the power grows at a shocking rate.. Only Russell Knows.. I've also never seen him lie really.. Why would he need to? He tosses Salome across the room with ease and shes 2nd oldest in the room..
He may be crazy, but he's not stupid. He knows invulnerability to sunlight is the only thing that will give vampires the ability to dominate the world. The rest of the fundies must truly believe Lilith will give them the power to prevail over humanity.
It's their fang-clicking that gets me.
BEST scene ever
Russell praised the sun before it was cool
Sir you are a genius, that would be bliss ^^
Russell was such a boss. The way True Blood killed him off was lame.
I would have loved to see that. I think Russel would own Godric not only in power but also in determination and will. Godric was at odds with his existence and was a broken vampire. He did commit suicide after all. I think Russel was immensely powerful. They always made it a point for him to dominate every vampire in the show. When he turns on the authority in this scene they all could've rushed him to kill him but nobody made a move. That says alot. Hes more powerful then all of them combined.
😄Yo O'Dude with hair!..He's a fantastic Actor I like watching in AHS
2:30 It was at this point jessica realized that less than a year ago she was still in bed by 8 o clock and never got to go to Ashtons party.
My prediction: Salome will drink all the Lilith blood and become some sort of vampire God, Russell can now day-walk, Warlow will appear and be some kind of magical uber-vamp and the three will have an apocalyptic fight to the death over humans, faeries and factions.
Russell wanted all the smoke!!
If you listen closely he says hes more powerful then all of them combined. I'd imagine being 1000 years older then salome whose 2000 years old would make him immensely powerful..
Totally agreed. Other than Eric, Russell was the biggest badass of the vampires.
he just wanted what lilith wants...THE SUUUNNNNN....
When this first aired I laughed so hard lol I knew something like this was coming
As awesome as this scene was, as much as I loved Russell in just about every second of it - honestly, HBOs Russell Edgington is so much better than his novelized self - I couldn't help but go "AHH! AHH! Jessica's in the room! REMOVE HER FROM RUSSELL'S PRESENCE AT ONCE YOU INCONSIDERATE DICKS!"
Really, Deborah Ann Woll is far too talented at looking terrified and innocent.
Jessica should’ve become more cold and unhinged around others
She's a huge part of Daredevil being the awesome show that it is.
The argument about flying is very good.
Russell should at least have his own tv prequel series, with different story arcs of his origins and his shadow-war against humanity up to his encounter with Eric, it could then branch off into a series focusing on Godric and Eric and perhaps then Eric and Pam. The possibilities are endless. I mean the show is only worthwhile for the breakout characters; they are constantly killing them anyway, like The Magister, an excellent character killed way too soon. Sookie and Bill bring the show down.
I will have the sun
He was born into a Celtic community in the Carpathians.
He was a Celt from the Carpathian Mountains, oddly enough it sounds more French than anything. I'm German and that is not a German accent.
Man I know he was a bad guy, but I loved Russell Edgeington. He was one of the best characters in this show.
At the end of this (2:15), I was seriously expecting Russell to break the chamber by flying off into the sky.
So using that logic, Godric was only second to Russel in the series? Or would Godric, due to his youthful Vampiric physiology be more of a match for him? In my opinion, I think they killed Godric off not only because he died in the book, but also because he and Russel were 2 very powerful, very opposite forces. That interaction would have been interesting to see.
Did anyone noticed how his accent changed from a Southern Folk to "Old French" when he said he was older than everyone combined? like his true self came out lol.
I would have loved to see a full blown storyline of Russell trying to synthesize faerie blood with Steve Newlin doing PR for it. The whole thing feels like a missed opportunity and none of the major storylines in seasons 6 and 7 justified Russell's unceremonious death.
That's BLASPHEMY, Malebolgia...
That, ladies and gentlemen, is and was a true vampire: not some Sookie-minge hunting 'please-love-me-to-make-me-love-myself' ponces or fanatical blood-bible bashing 'praise Tittith' fools - an ancient, merciless, self-confident and indulgent force of blood and night. That's what made Russell the best vampire in True Blood.
Also, Warlow was such a fecking disappointment: thousands of years older than Russell yet, even after all that time, his sole purpose is just the same of Eric and Bill: Sookie-please-love-me-to-redeem-myself-and-let-me-pound-that-fairy-pussy-of-yours-that-goes-wild-for-vampire-"fangs"!
(sigh) just (sigh)
100 percent agreement
the only vampire that can contend with him was godric
godric was only 2000. Russell would have no problem dispatching godric
+IN OCEANS only a year late, but he's only 1.5x more powerful, and godric killed his maker
Demonflesh spawn it would’ve been awesome to see Sookie as a Vampire
OMG Dat accent man Russell is so powerful if there is any other vampire stronger than him I fear for the world LOL
oh.God.DAMMIT does this mean I have to find and finish the rest of this show's seasons? It might.
They should make the fae blood heel him from goo mush into the russell we all love i mean just look at his speach i love this xD
I wondering if he flew out of the room and then had to sit and wait on the elevator. Lmao
That's how I am when the foam isn't right in my coffee.
Tell me about it. Usually I go stand on the counter at Starbucks, tell the employees that I am stronger than all of them combined and yell that "I will have the foam!"
I understand that because Eric seemed more mentally strong that Godric did. I think that together, they could have killed him. Russell's death showed that he was power hungry and impulsive. That is why he was caught off guard. But I found out that even he is no the strongest Vampire. In the books, there is a female Greek Vampire who was so old, she came across Odysseus. I would like to see how she would fit into the southern society.
Hey bro whats the name of the book
@@enesbilgili8647 It’s a short story called “Dracula Night” and the Vampire’s name
is Thalia. She was an Ancient Greek vampire who said Odysseus lived on a neighboring island once or twice.
Russell is from the Carpathian Mountains which include present day Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Ukraine to Romania in the east and on to the Iron Gates on the River Danube between Romania and Serbia. Germany and Gaul are on the other side if Europe.
@AronHallan Dracula IS Russel. Though mot specified in the show, we have clues regarding their identity, such as their common birthplace, the Carpathians
Dracula is not Russel ... Rosaline said in a vidéo, that Authority killed Vald Tempes some centuries ago.
I dont know what she was thinking by threatening him lmao like what TF are you going to do to a 3,000 year old vampire at full health?
thank god, i tought i was the only one to notice that
He's suppose to be Celtic but Celtic refers to a bunch of tribes during his time which may have included Gaul which is now considered Germany.
They just need a daylight ring
Come back... come back... to MORDOR we will take you...
12 seconds....yep that's good enough
I don't get why people call Russell crazy. I mean sure, he went over the edge when Talbot died, but he steered back, I think. He's ambitious as hell though, but that's not crazy. And his original ambitions for subjugating menkind ARE logical, from his perspective.
Yeah, sure. Nothing crazy at all about a guy who wants to subjugate the entire world (mankind AND the supernatural), make everyone into slaves/food and proudly proclaims that killing "makes my dick hard!" Hitler's ambitions were probably "logical" from his perspective too; Russell even outright agrees with Hitler about there being a master race.
The dude was a psychotic megalomaniac. No need to dress that up just because he's cool and entertaining.
I wonder what sound the special effects department used for the fangs I never realised how annoying it is 😹😹😹
I think fans of vampires always want to see a mysterious vampire millennial in age.. I know I do. I think every-1 wants to know the source.. The oldest vampire in existence and more importantly who turned that vampire..
not sure thats how it goes, i mean, 2 10yr olds cant take down a 20yr old
Their teeth being retractable is so god damned weird.
