Re-watched the presentation on a whim earlier today and seeing all the reveals again after all this time made me legitimately emotional. That BotW trailer is a masterpiece.
Mario Odyssey's trailer is one of the greats too. Makes me kinda miss the Switch launch hype.

That BOTW trailer was the best trailer I've ever seen. I was in legit awe after the Zelda scene it was crazy completely sold me on the game on release day lol well done Nintendo.
For how amazing BOTW is, I think they could made the trailer even more hyped as I still consider the reveal trailer for Twilight Princess (a lesser game) to be the greatest and most hyped in Nintendo's history
@@DelightFools but that is totally for reasons outside of botw's reach. the trailer is not what outclasses it. that game was just the realistic game everyone was craving.
Sad thing is I got far more emotional watching the trailer than i did experiencing those cutscenes in the game. Because they were isolated flashbacks it zapped them of a lot of their potency. Still a great game hopefully they can do more with the story in BotW 2.

The whole hype around the Switch was crazy, sold ME, and I'm first and foremost a PlayStation guy... Went to the Midnight Launch and grabbed my Switch and Zelda even though all I ever wanted for it was SMT 5 and Metroid Prime 4 (now Metroid Prime Trilogy as well since it just makes sense and all the rumours around it) and those games STILL AREN'T OUT YET 😡 🤣

Almost a year later and I'm still watching reaction videos to Breath Of The Wild Switch trailer. One of the best trailers for ANY form of entertainment I've ever seen. It still gives me goosebumps even after beating the game.

I’ve watched this video, specifically at the final Zelda trailer, probably 20 times over the last few years. Brad and Huber losing their shit in the background encapsulates how mind-blowing this trailer was and honestly how mind-blowing BotW was in general playing it through the first time.
I keep coming back to this trailer, especially now after finally playing this game years later...also after MM being the last Zelda game I played.

I love how it's obvious you guys know your games and have been doing this a long time, but you're not jaded and still get excited about things. You all get excited but it's not the over-the-top attention-getting overreaction on offer elsewhere.
It's like watching people talk amongst friends, like there's no camera involved. Everything seems so much more genuine, and that's so very appreciated.
I found the presentation supremely underwhelming, but that Zelda trailer......HOLY SHIT. Best trailer I've seen recently. Unfortunately, I can't see myself picking up a Switch until A LOT more games are released.

Analysts projected 40 million sold by 2020. Many scoffed at those "high expectations". They beat that mark by 4 months. Realistically, they're gonna hit 45 million by 2020, and 50 million by the 3rd Anniversary.

From now on I'll be looking forward to watching presentation streams with these guys. They cheer and get excited about stuff. It's so refreshing. It stands out among the overall negativity of game media, always complaining and whining about every single thing. Can't wait to watch E3 here.
I love how they're excited and positive about games but they won't hesitate to admit if it turns out to be shitty after launch. And I still watch their last year's E3 reactions from time to time just for the good vibes.

They correctly concluded multiple times throughout, that this presentation really was leaving the whole weight of the Switch's early life on Breath of the Wild to carry. What nobody at the time could know was that Breath of the Wild was SO STRONG, it could carry all of that and more, with only the vague promises of Odyssey and a few other things for support.

I must agree I usually followed Kinda Funny but they are starting to be so cynical and so critical of everything, bringing everybody down, it's not like they like games or the games "art" it's just some way to make a buck..

Alex Gomez yeah, they were being jolly, but it was healthy - they admitted it was pretty disappointing (and were trying to look at any positives to make it not too depressing). everyone was on point - I think Huber was grading it compared to the WiiU; so he gave it a C+. Everyone else was comparing it to the other competition (hence, they gave it a C-'s and D's).

That guy saying $299 is "too high" is incredibly cheap and delusional, it's funny how he's the only person to not clearly realize what a good price it was. It was an insanely low price, much lower than the other consoles, very surprising at the time, and part of why it sold so well.
I thought the exact same thing. I was like wait, aren't these professional gaming journalists? I thought he would understand the cost of components at the time. He thought it would be priced as a Wii and OG 3DS 🙈. He's still a cool dude tho.

TheBoltMaster it's cause they didn't announce anything really. a lot of it was speculated and thought to be coming. the stuff that they should have said and told about was no where to be seen. it was mostly gimmick stuff focused on the controller. didn't talk about anything else really cept for saying "people will make games for us" and "here's a zelda"

I hope you realize that there's more to the Switch than one presentation. 80 games are being developed right now for the Switch, so is it really fair to say that it has no games - ESPECIALLY considering the fact that the console hasn't even been released yet?

Think about it for a sec, new zelda on switch is 720p in handheld mode and 900p docked, to play it properly u need 300$ switch, 60$ game and 70$ pro controller, so for zelda alone u gonna spend 430$(+taxes)in the US and much higher price in other parts of the world, how many ppl can afford it? 10-15m just like in wiiu case, so most hardcore diehard ninny fans, but probably less since they are dissapointed already.

I find it funny how some people think that the games shown were made for kids and that the Switch is a "toy" for kids, even though not even one child, kid or teenager was shown neither on the Switch reveal trailer neither on this presentation.

I went back to watch this after i beat breath of the wild just to see reactions to the game. When Ben says "One of the greats" I know he meant in the context of the trailer, little did he know this would turn out to be one of the greatest games ever made.

You guys make some of the must fun and entertaining Live reactions! Super excited for the Switch. Looking at 1-2 switch again, i think i actually might add that to my pre-order.
I don't get all the negativity around the event. Sure it doesn't have the most launch titles but Zelda looks amazing and the rest of the games they did show looked great and quite a few aren't going to take too long until they're released. There were bad parts sure but also a lot of good.

That was an amazing presentation and people are just shitting on it like *pff, the switch is a bad console, it s only hd and has high quality controllers, the playstation is better because science* . Of course the playstation is tecnically better, if you want high quality buy yourself a gaming pc. I want a good console with things I enjoy like mario and zelda on it, with nice and unique controllers and portability, and I got what I wanted. Not sure what standards people have nowadays.
Nintendo can never replace playstation. Every console is unique in it s own way, and it will always be up to personal preference wich one you like, wether those are high quality or other aspects. All the games I saw look colourful and enjoyable and I can t wait to play them.

Most of the comments here complain about the paid online service from what I see, or just that they didnt like the games they saw (literally saw someone say they don t like the presentation because there was no pokemon or metroid)
Besides, I made this comment so you can tell me *why* you think the presentation was bad, not for you to just say *it was bad, done* : (
James Brincefield this is a great comment, you have way better views and arguments then most other people. I will still disagree with the portable part. I love the psvita. It mostly failed because it got no support from sony and it s launch games werent too great since most of them focused on *showing off the touchscreen* and things like that, I mean even uncharted had you use the touchscreen to do melee attacks. If the Switch is a better version of the vita to ps3-ps4 crossplay, then to me as a portable fan , I m really exited for the switch. The size doesnt really matter, since we re in a time where everyone takes around their tablets everywhere they go anyways. The 3ds still getting games is a good thing, since it s a back up in case the switch won t sell enough, plus I like my 3ds so I d be sad if they didnt. And zelda comming to the wii u was already announced for a while now, I m sure alot of people would have been really dissapointed if they suddenly said *it s switch exclusive* and wouldnt have bought it at all. So in terms of *portable beeing unnecesary* and *3ds still getting games beeing bad* I disagree with you . Especially when I was in japan I saw alot of people (workers with suits and all) on their psvita while sitting in trains and stuff, so I m sure alot of people can profit from the switch portability. And honestly, I don t want high graphics when playing on a nintendo console (since you said the portable influences the consoles power). All I want is the games to look colourful and fluid. On my ps3 skyrim would often really drop in framerate. The game beeing a bit downscaled on the switch gives me hope that it will work more fluid and generally feel a bit more enjoyable to play than just to look at. I d say 300 for a portable that can play console games is a fair price, I don t want my switch to be nothing but a cheap empty shell. Also I personally don t think 1 2 switch looks complicated at all even for elder people who don t know much abour consoles.

However I do still have the optimism that all nintendo fans will eventually just buy a switch later on, and that nintendo doesnt already see the switch as a failure just because launch didnt work well. I m also looking forward to ARMS, I can see it easely become a new "splatoon" , and everyone who played it at the events says it s fun. So as long as nintendo knows that the switch won t sell with zelda alone, I have optimism that the future of the switch will be just fine. I personally don t own a wiiU since everyone told me it s not good, and at the time where all the good games came out the NX was announced, so I said *I ll wait* .I ll buy the switch at launch no matter what, and just hope that it will be at least a decent success for nintendo. I mean the fact is, alot of people don t believe in the switch just because they don t believe in nintendo anymore, and I m worried that too many people won t buy the switch just because they don t wanna give it a try.

What's amazing is how innovative Nintendo is and have always been. All the other consoles focus on graphics.
Not as good as I was hoping but better than I was expecting. For a console presentation it actually was pretty good, remember the Ps4 unveling? When they didn't even bother showing the console and spent half the time hyping up Knack? Or the Xbox One unveil when the word TV was used at least 5 times more than games shown? Or the PS4 pro which was a snooze-fest meeting? Zelda and Mario are hype, I'll wait till E3 for a judgment though.

Depending on how successful the Switch turns out to be, I'll agree on that. If the Switch turns out to be as popular as the Wii U in a few years, around the same sales numbers, then Nintendo obviously learned jack shit and should go 3rd party at that point.
I'm trying to remain optimistic and see how the future treats the Switch, so to speak, but I'm finding that a little hard.

Justin Murphy I have seen this said many times and I just don't buy it. This presentation would have been an "F" without the Mario reveal, and that tells me that Nintendo's strength is their game development. If they couldn't make the same Mario on the Bone, or PS4, or PC then you admit that their programmers suck which is just not true. They are a terrible console business and have no business selling platforms at these prices considdering what their competitors are offering. They need to bring the magic of their titles to the other platforms and give up on making home consoles.
Charlie Wood I understand Nintendo is frustrating with you all the gimmicks they are making and you don't want to buy their console. But they are not going to be third party at all and the games will not run better on the PS4 and Xbox One but rather worst.
