I went to gamestop today and the rep said that the conference sucked, he was disappointed with e3, and that MS was the only bright spot. I just walked out lol. Some people are just too negative and biased to even try to sway

part 3 wont take that long. most of the assets are there, such as the character models, animations. most of the world is done. combat is done, vehicles done. they will probably tweak combat. Most of the work to be done will be cinematic scenes. new areas such as under the sea and northern creator will require a lot of new effects and creatures. the voice actors and such will be working too. but there is no transition to a new console this time. pretty sure it'll be less than 2 years. most development time is taken is planning and building the systems and testing it, such as the combat and the interface for example. they'll probably tweak it but they're not making it from scratch. they also had to build their in house tools to work on unreal engine 4 but they dont need to do that either.

storytellerjack22 You know there's a genuine love when you see those kind of reactions. I remember watching Skyrim and Zelda announcements and people went wild. I realized how well loved the series was and can feel the wave of happiness and excitement.
Now if they announce a decent Ace Combat sequel set in StrangeReal again or remake of Ace Combat 5 and Zero or Suikoden 1 and 2 remake with Square Enix engine I will run around screaming like crazy.

BUT-I knew HOW SPECIAL those games were to a number of people who had largely given up hope that it was EVER coming back, at this point.
So to see that dream come true (even though it wasn’t my own) in real-time was AMAZING.

+Mark Misa Defy Media (the parent company) shut gametrailers down yesterday and everyone got laid off without any advance warning.
SomeGameNews Ok .... so what u mean is.. like u guyz are doing ur normal daily work at GT ( which is a great job btw )... and then the next day the so called sister company.... Made a GREAT SUPRISE by Creating a LARGE LOCKED GATE WITH a sign saying "UR FIRED!"..... right?
+Mark Misa Kind of. They were actually going about their normal work day when they found out. If you follow any of their other streams (that I post on my channel), you will see their 2nd last stream called "Dumb game monday" which they do just after noon.
At the end of that stream, Kyle signed off saying "see you next week" He didn't know at the time. A couple of hours after that stream ended they found out that gametrailers is shutting down and this was their last day at work.

5 years have come and past, and we are here today with FF7R in our hands, and for many of us, it was far greater than we expected. The wait was worth it.
I haven’t played it but I thought the consensus among FF fans was that the story kinda bastardizes the original?

Same here. For me on the original PlayStation it’s the greatest game I’ve ever played. I remember all the way back in 1997 spending hours on this game, staying up to 2 or 3am just levelling up and finally completing the story.
This video is why professionalism is overrated, and why GT was so awesome. It was the last remnant of gaming journalism where the journalists were actual fans.

Beerlover2007 I wasn't old enough for Shenmue and FF7. I'm happy for all the fans but I'm sitting here like the kid who's dad didn't come to the football game like "my dad is just late, he's working on virtual reality or something...he'll be here though he promised".
Beerlover2007 All old games that get a remake or another title to their series. Were are the new ideas? Shenmue is also too long ago. And half life 2 can't be improved that easily so they can probably leave it for what it is right now. In a way I don't even want a new half life, the first one wasn't even good I only liked the second one. And maybe the last part of the first game, but before you got there it was pretty bad. There were much better FPS games back then: red faction / time splitters 2 or 3 etc (compared to HL1).
This was probably the greatest 1-2 punch in E3 history.
FFVII had a rabid fandom surrounding rumors of it being remade for going on a decade at this point.
Shenmue III, while not NEARLY close to the same level of popularity, ALSO had a rabid fandom that had all but given up hope at that point that Yu Suzuki’s sweeping epic would ever be completed.
Getting just ONE of these announcements in an E3 press conference would’ve been enough to shoot it to legendary status, let alone both.
Add in a healthy little sprinkling of The Last Guardian still being alive and coming to PS4 and you have one of the WILDEST E3 conferences EVER.
Whenever I'm having a low day I come here and watch this. No matter how many times I see this I still grin from ear to ear. Thank you Gametrailers/Easy Allies for the good feels.

Love watching this at least once a month to see the absolute joy, happiness and genuine excitement from people who absolutely love video games.
You could cry when you see how much Sega was loved through the reactions of nearly everyone ever
And its jus a crime that more hardcore sega fans dont know sega’s other properties that make sega LEGENDARY in japan….
Not alot of ppl outside of japan know Hokuto No Ken (fist of the north star) and Ryo ga Gotoku (sega’s yakuza series)…..
…not alot of ppl picked up the ps4 exclusive fist of the north star (kenshiro is amazing lvl 80 and above. U rly see him become like bruce lee)….and alot of ppl didnt play the yakuza series until they wer given away monthly (ps+) or free (gamepass)
Its just sad, man….a crime….fist of the north star shud be just as popular as dbz….dbz came from fist….goku came from kenshiro….
Yakuza shud be just as popular as grand theft auto…yakuza is basically japan’s grand theft auto, just a whole lot more quirky with its japanese themes….
We will never have something like this again. Until Shenmue IV I hope.
