I wish that were true, unfortunately these 2 disks wont even let you smell Knights of the Round. Midgar and done is what I would assume, game ending at the ramp right before you leave Midgar. Then us having to wait an eternity for part 2 :(

What got you? I want it to be at least as good as the original, but I ve seen only battles and empty streets. They are changing the story as well (I dont know in what way) but the last 4 FFs' stories are....anyway let's hope the remake lives up to the hype or at least the original
well at least they already have a "template" to follow, unlike the last few FF where they had to made it from scratch.
@@ferzupoMithos The story changes should be pretty minor - if anything, they're probably changing tangential details. The whole core of the story should remain entirely in tact.

I've forgotten most of the plot by now anyway. It's my favourite game of all-time but I played it through only once and left it as a beautiful memory. I'm hoping this will both be nostalgic but also feel like I'm playing a new game at the same time.

Mark Thomas I finally got one of my friends to play it for the first time! (She’s 43.... lol) and she loves it so far! Never played a turn based game so I’m having to hold her hand the whole time via shareplay on PS4 and I told her to keep cheater mode on. LB always up and HP/MP always full. Told her it’s not about the fighting, it’s about the story.
I really like the mix between real time action and menu system.
It’s really pretty much the same at the core of it. It’s just you do tiny attacks in between ATB turns instead of just standing around staring at the enemy. Changes it enough to feel modern to people who haven’t played it before and don’t have the nostalgia, but same-y enough to those that have.
@@Poo0fi Agreed, that's what I love about it is that it's like they upgraded the vanilla game to include some stuff to do in between waiting for ATB charges - the bulk of the damage you do in tougher battles still come from abilities that require charges. And they have the slowing of time included (Tactical Mode) to make your best decision with the use of these charges across all your active party members too. I just hope that because it's much more action-based than before, that they include some combination attacks too, something like Cloud spending a charge for one of his attacks to launch the enemy into the air, followed by Barret shooting it in mid-air to do significantly more damage.
After finishing the game on Normal and currently playing the game on Hard, Im coming back to watch reactions of the game and hearing the crowd go nuts for Tifa is just so damn cool!

They play with the audience. And it's one of the most talked about games praised for its gameplay and mechanics. Plus many game critics awards! Will not disappoint indeed.

Very subtle black inner-layer of Tifa's vest made all the difference. It made her look less exposed yet kept her original look. I really can't thank the design team enough.

I love everyone's face and reaction to everything as it was all being revealed . You could see how genuine the emotions were like we were all kids again seeing a part of our childhood be brought back into new life. Just love it.
Tifa's first appearance is actually at 17:37. She's standing next to Barret, to his right, while he's firing off his Big Shot Limit Break.
Took me quite a few viewings before I actually noticed her being there :)

@@IndianTelephone yer seriously man I've been playing a ton of Japanese games. The past couple of years like yakuza 0 and kiwami 1 and 2 also NieR Automata is one of my fave games ever I feel like Japanese games are taking over again like they did in the 90s. loved what we saw gameplay visuals and music were all incredible the soundtrack was stunning.
You must play ff7 crisis core first. Before this.

You can just see the happiness flow from their eyes in the beginning. It's just pure bliss at seeing the game in all its glory shown all over again.
Just started playing the game and I have to say, it is exceeding my expectations in every way! To get a storyline this powerful with graphics this amazing as well is pretty damned rare. Being in a Coronavirus lockdown with this game is flipping great!
Having never played the original I didn't feel the hype but after being like 15 hours in I am getting so hyped watching this retroactively. One of my favorite games of all time.

The look these guys have on their faces throughout this video is the best example of what nostalgia looks like that I've ever seen. And I probably looked exactly the same when I watched it!
I never played FFVII because it took me way too long in my gaming life to stop focusing on annual sports games and actually start playing classic good games. So this has me VERY excited to show me what I’ve missed out on. This presentation got me emotional a few times and all I really know is a couple characters and what their names are.
The way they saved Tifa's appearance at late, that's kinda made her as a special character! Love it! And the crowds reaction?! Amazing! ♥️
That's why SE wouldn't kill her in the remake part 2 just what others are claiming.

I'm here 4 years after seeing the guy in the red tie's reaction from when this (and Shenmue 3) was announced. I remember he nearly passed out from how unbelievable it was. He STILL can't believe it's real.
Gameplay is exactly how I wanted to be!!
And I was from the hardcore turn based sceptical fans of the original.
But this thing seems to merge perfectly realism with the core elements of the original combat system i.e. control of your party, strategy etc etc

@Shlomo Shekelberg 79.99 with the three new summons. The one your talking about cost more and come with a big ass cloud on a bike figure that might sell on Ebay for 1000 bucks for the toy alone. Just like iron man hulk buster sells for 800 bucks.

@@jehu1313 I don't think any of the main game summons will be DLC. A Cactuar and Mini chick chocobo summon are hardly anything to be upset over. Now if Bahamut Zero was on there I think you'd be right to be upset, but they just look like little bonuses for pre- ordering the game. Which let's be honest, after that I'm down for a pre-order!

jcarby23 The Buster Sword is part of the Story now. Imagine Zack and clouds story bro, so you put another sword on cloud (looks like) and Buster goes to the inventory, and thats it. And thats how the story went to hell. The rest of the sword doesnt exist in the game, they are not canon but Buster Sword yes.

@@iamgams Cloud doesn't remember Zack at this point. I am pretty sure that after Cloud remembers Zack he will honor him by leaving the buster sword on the spot where Zack died, just like it was in Advent Children. Advent Children might not be cannon, but that might still be included in the remake.

The battle system is just perfect. It's like FF12 and Xenoblade where you can freeze time to use menus in the overworld, but you have complete control unlike those games where attacks are still like a traditional rpg and you just have to sit there as the characters attacks charge up or have to take hits from enemies. Here everything is in your control like an action game, but not too crazy.
Exactly! I feel its a culmination of battle systems 7s ATB system,12s hybrid system, 13s stagger system and 15s real time system! Square Enix has been trialling and error for years and this is hopefully the return to form!

I never would have believed that it would look this good. I also never believe that if they changed the combat system at all I would like it. However this looks absolutely incredible.
I hope people realize now why they had to split the story into episodes. Just look at Midgard's size and detail. Other games don't even have a map that huge. It would've been impossible to fit the rest of the world into that disc. They had to split it up because of that, and not because "they just want more money!!!!!11".
The thing is, can you imagine how many 'episodes' it is going to take if Midgar (which was only 1/4 of Disc 1 in the original) takes up 2 whole discs in this remake?
Granted I imagine a chunk of that memory is going to be for 'core mechanics' of the game and thus the future episodes might not need so much but still.
As stoked as I am for this 'Episode' I am more curious how they are going to handle the rest of the game which has more 'world travel' in it.

Not going to lie... I was kind of bummed out by what I saw from the combat in older trailers. But I'm really pumped now. Seeing the ATB and stagger metter is awesome! It reminds me of 13's combat, which say what you want about that game, I think the combat was great. Hopefully this turns out great!

That won't be until the next episodes, more than likely. From what I've been gathering, this first episode is gonna completely take place in Midgar... so no Chocobos yet.

They perfected the combat system
Its crazy (kinda sad now that I think about it) that the whole first game that we’re getting is set in Midgar only, but will be about as big as a numbered Final Fantasy game. They fleshed out such a small plot point from the original and that makes me think about how long it’ll be before we get all the other ones if this one took maybe 5-6 years to make
i used to think that, but then i stopped and thought about it, it kinda makes sense, midgar is supposed to be MASSIVE, but in game, we only see around a spec of a few areas. now im pretty sure they will basically make an entire world out of that place,

This will be the first time I'm playing FF7, this will be a great experience going blind playthrough. FF8 is my first and the best FF.

First ff I played is ff7. It has very memorable iconic characters and very cool memorable villain. In Ff8 I forgot the main villain and the point of defeating it.

Not everyone is listening and understanding the thing behind the two bluray discs that will come out on March 3rd, these two discs will only cover the first part of a multi part game, this first part will be only the city of Midgar, thats all.
We will have to wait after that for the second part of this multi part game, maybe another two more discs, maybe we will be playing the first half of the world map, maybe it will be on the next generation of consoles, we dont know.
Yep, I just commented something similar. Knowing how they managed to flesh out that small game portion makes me think how they’re gonna do the rest of it
