Quick word about the Beep Test... There are many different versions of the Beep Test Audio which can range GREATLY in difficulty. Be careful comparing the score you get from one version of the beep test to the score you, or another person, get with a different version. The main idea behind fitness tests is to either compare the fitness levels to other people who are doing the exact same test and version as you or to gauge your improvement over time. I'm not saying that I don't believe that 12 year old Jimmy scored 16.2 on his beep test in middle school haha, but it probably wasn't the same beep test or same distance as this one. My advice is to either stick with the beep test audio that you've been using to track your own improvement against yourself or to try out this specific audio and distance to compare yourself to me.
We have to do this at school all the time it is basically the same thing with your whole gym class. I always beat everybody😊(about a 100 people) and I try to maintain that as a goal (:
Have you ever gone for like a long long distance run
Become Elite you are right Matt, I know in my old school the distance was 15m and when I went grade 11 the distance was changed to 20m
Can’t lie I hate the bleep rest. My team does it about every month or two, before lockdown. I average in the early 13s last time I got level 13.3 (20m) bleep rest.
but bro you didn't even try.. probably could of got 16. The world record is level 19 by a pro footballer, 20 metres
The parking lot drills remind me of the Germany days
Ahh.. yes. When times were simple.
To record everything and show what you do to be the best possible in your profession is extremely smart. Your coaches and the whole organization you represent will notice the hard work you put in and realize that their investment on you was the right choice. The fact that coaches from other teams show your drills for their players is one proof of that. You are are a true professional and keep inspiring people!
I am just watching and I can't believe how much you have improved over the last couple of years. The improvement can especially be seen on the second drill, how much sharper you are, how much cleaner your dribblings are comparing to Germany for example. You are nothing less than pure motivation.THANKS MATT!
You are very inspiring to us young players in these unprecedented times and I’ll definitely take in your tips during my journey and while documenting which I’m already on my channel, so thanks 🙌😁
The level of responsability that you show with your job at this time is simply admirable. Nothing but respect for you man.
I get PTSD flashbacks of preseason every time I hear those beeps 😭 in college they’ll really run you with no mercy man
bradinho Lol try running Track and Field. It’s Hell ! I ran the 600 Meter my first week 😭
Both r hell
Tyler Tin facts man I could never 😭🤣
That’s true! It’s hell!
Love to see a pro footballer who I’ve always looked up to doing similar things to myself everyday 🙌🏽
Wonderful Matt, just wonderful !!
I reeeeeeeeaalllly enjoyed the talking about the tests and stuff.. really helpful !!
Finally, congrats for the certification you really deserve it !!
Keep it up brother.. we love you !!
I really cant believe how supporting your Gf is. She goes along you every workout and helps you on everything
Matt you help me so much, most of my drills i use are from your channel, just watned to say keep it up
Love the music behind your drills on this one
Congratulations to you brother. Love your vlog. I’m doing your abs work everyday as a trainer and coach. Love it.

"The fitness gram pacer test is a multi...
Stage
This is my most liked comment ever
Really enjoyed this video man , I have to agree with you that I don't really think the beep test is very soccer specific. I think the yoyo intermittent test better mimics a game of football test wise and it requires very little equipment also. This is the test my college used and it was a fairly decent indicator of players fitness and I still use it today. Great to see that you are doing what you can to train and the drills you are doing don't require a lot of space or equipment which I think is ideal for all us players right now!
This was the bane of my life preparing for my soccer scholarship. Good shit.
Daniel Powers *football*
Daniel Powers it’s called football bro
Ace 11 I know. I’m British. I’m just addressing it by how it’s called
Ace 11 there is a ton of names for it and it all means the same thing bud chill tf out
Oswaldo Garcia I call it football same as you wouldn’t call your mum by her real name
Been rocking those CR7 futsal shoes ~since Germany days~ and theys till haven't worn out haha i love this guy!
You are amazing. Keep on inspiring people like us!!!! Lots of love from Nepal
You are best u r helping younger footballer like me a lot
That’s awesome to hear Matt that other coaches in the usl see your videos and recommend them to their players. I would think that when you don’t have a team (hoping that never happens) they kind of see you and have a firm belief in your game. What do you think ?
Hi I just subscribed to your Chanel like a week or too ago and you’ve helped me a bit
Congrats on being a nutrition coach Matt 🥳👏
Nice man! Congrats on the certification 👊🏾👊🏾
I like your videos because they give motivation to train even harder
I love this Matt!
You are amazing!!! I am from Brazil and your videos inspire me.💪🏽
Congratulations Mr Nutritionist!! Moving up and up in the world. I am a super fan of your grind and work ethic
its really funny hearing you call it the BEEP test in England and clubs I've played for abroad we have always called it the BLEEP and now its all I can notice is how weird when you call it beep! it's funny how around the world we have the same thing but say/do things slightly different
Please make more fitness test we can use on ourself to assess us
15:59 That’s really good filming and editing together with the music. Great content keep it up 👍
Great video and great drills! Just wondering whether it would be worth checking the shoulder during the control and turning drill? Keep it up! 👍🏼
Really see the practise xoming in with the left foot driven pass
👍👍
congratulations Matt!
I really wanna be like you when I grow up.
You and Michael are Living Legends.
About the bleep test, it’s supposed to help to keep swapping legs when you turn to prevent fatigue on the one leg you’re turning on.
Man I like your video. You’re an inspiration.
Great job man ur an inspiration to me! U dropped this btw 👑
Try the T-test sprint, love your vids man keep it up!
Great video!! 🙏
Great vid, dude!
Carantine Matt! Love it😅🙌
I love triangle 20m fitness drill. Sprint, walk, jog. 5 reps to the right, 5 to the left, repeat until you can't anymore.
Great vids bro
I really like your channel❤️ you are doing a good job⚽💪
Matt you just triggered my Australian high school PDHPE memories with that beep test guy hahah Literally heard that voice every week...
Congratulations 🎊 you deserve it 👏
Hey man keep it up you gon be sum big one day bro
saw this video last week...on a facebook running group...over 300,000 views on that channel...awesome!
The second last drill was a really good one 👌
i once did the yoyo test during preseason in 2019 and I got up until level 17 it was super hard
love this vids matt! but like you should really link the background music you use in your drills, finding songs strictly based on their rhythm isn’t the easiest thing😂
Visibly Allan I actually ended up finding it! it’s called Pixel Pig by Di Young
Have you tried the 15-15 fitness test? The goal is to make it from one cone to the other (120m distance from cone to cone or anything to
mark it) in 15 seconds. Once you arrive at the other end, take a 15s rest and come back. Around 8 runs in a row is 1 set. Doing 2 complete sets with 3 min. rest in between sets in really good. Let me know what you think!
Hey bro I just saw this comment, 120m 😂 It’s called the MAS/Euro Fitness test and 120m in 15 seconds?? That’s near impossible for the average footballer to even complete on the first rep, let alone 8 reps 😂 I do this all the time but I do roughly a range from 80-90m.
My college team does a ruthless fitness test I think you would like. You have 8 minutes to run 5 laps around a standard track, the catch is you have to take a 1 minute and 30 second rest before the final lap. The idea is to tire you out with the first mile at around 5:30 then a small break before a fast pace last lap at around 1 minute.
When the music stop when your were doing that drill 12:00 and mess up for a bit o was dying.
Congrats ❤
Hi Matt, proud of you for not limiting yourself to only soccer! I wanted to ask, roughly how long did it take you to complete the NASM Nutrition course from the start?
keep going bro
Love the videos. How many times a week do you train, during the quarantine times?
great vid x.
When Mimi said “You did it!“ .
Who else does this at school? It might be called the pacer test?
I do something called a Yo-Yo (Intermittent) Test at my college.
Different names for the test though.
same concept but it’s slightly different
Nicholas Kozdron yo-yo test is different to the beep test though
Ya we do it what score did you get
Yo i went about 80 times, 25 yards each way at my middle school. (it started slow then got to a sprint)
Whenever i need motivation to train matts videos always help me
Nice Matt! I got 13.2 in grade 11
Actually did the beeptest today with my proteam. Probably not the same you did but i got up to 20.2. So hard and it's also testing your mental side.
I did the exact same one (pretty notorious in Australia) And made 14.3 in grade 9. Pretty cool to know in that area I somewhat match with a pro!
I Did it today and got 15.6
I did 24 I'm in grade 8
Ur not. U definitely did not do the 20M one
Congrats!🎉
YOU ARE WORLD CLASS
Hey Matt, have you ever done the 150 M shuttle run test? 5 cones ( 5 m apart ) 25 M out in total. 30 seconds on 30 seconds off x 6. You run to each cone then back to the start and then to the next. You calculate your total distance over the 6 runs then. It’s brutally hard
Level 14 a big effort mate . Great work
The fitness gram pacer test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues.
My high school soccer coaches use the beeper test to get us fit during Pre-Season and during tryouts to see who’s fit
Thanks Matt cool vid
The YO-YO IR2 is a great test, similar to the regular YO-YO test but it is more specific to high level athletes 👍
Congrats on the certification my guy
Oh wow, we did a similar test in elementary school. It was called "The Pacer Test". But it was quite different. I think the distance was the length of a volleyball court and good scores were over 60. (public school in Illinois)
amazing channel
We've also got your workouts from our coach (100 soccer drills)
Poland
My team followed your yoga/ stretching routing lol😂
Level 14? Wow!
Tried the exact same Beep Test this morning and it is HARD. Not the distance/intensity - just the SPEED. You have to keep running/turning so quickly. I was done by Level 7.
So much emphasis was put on our beep test in college. Then players who essentially failed it with like level 11 would still get playing time over more for players 🤷🏼♂️ looking back being overly fit was overrated, wish I spent more time training decision making under pressure - 14-1 is a quality score! I ranged 13-15 when I played
The true hero here was Mimie for standing (hope she was sitting 😂) in the sun for the whooooole workout
Could you please make a video about everything you have learned about a healthy nutrition? I want to get better as a player and I want to make sure I’m having the correct nutritional information. I have a lean protein diet with chicken and try to have a decent amount of carbs. Is that bad?
Would you say that doing those long distance fitness tests help to first build a base level of fitness that way you can work on tougher interval training?
The first kick over the fence wow 😯
I just started to do the beep test and hopefully up my cardio. I was just as exhausted you finishing but scored 7.0 lol
Another Great video Matt! Very motivating for us all. Do you think the beep test is slightly flawed? I see it as a great way to see how fit one is... but as it speeds up, your natural pace comes into play meaning if 2 players with the same level fitness but one was faster, the faster player should last longer no? What’s your opinion on this? 👊🏾⚽️
Yes and no... I definitely think that your line of thinking makes sense, but even once you get up to the 14, 15, and 16 levels I don't there is any pro player out there that's running even close to their top sprint speed. Also if you look at the best beep test scores done by professional footballers (though most are unconfirmed), the players that do the best aren't the fastest most athletic players. They are players like David Beckham, Lee Gong Dook, and Tim Brown. Same in my own professional teams, it's not usually the case that the fastest players do the best.
Become Elite ahh okay that’s a good point! You don’t ever really full on hit a sprint when doing beep test. But thanks for the reply mate, good to see the perspective from a pro athlete 💪🏾
Could you do a week in the life of everything you do in a week??
I would like to see you doing a MURPH workout.. Nice video btw. :)
In NK Osijek from Croatia we did test, put cones every 5 meters, you sprint 5 m, jog 5 m, sprint 10 m, jog 10 m and go for 50 m, and start again with 5 meters.
Now I will do it once a week . Thanks
BROOOOOOO I thought you had to run to the cone and back before the beep beeped I was dead a level 1.3😂
My club makes us get to 22 on the Man United test the first day of training and if you don’t make it you have to go three days in a row in the morning do the test again and at night do team training.
watching this video made my heart race
Hey Matt, nice video everytime! I just wanted to ask you out, if you can make a tactical video, especially 4-2-3-1 attacking midfielder, side winger, full back or wing back. I really appreciate your works!
You can do it your own, by watchingfull match replays and observing and learning from the pros doesn’t need to always be high level cause amateur or semi pro doesn’t always play like Barca or Madrid. But then again always good to learn from the best
@@ultrapegasus123 Hi there! I actually play for the youth pros in Germany (U17 2nd division) but my greatest weakness is the tactic side cause I've been playing soccer for one and a half year only, which means, I lack experience. Anyway thanks for your recommendation!
김온유 watch loads of games, there’s pretty much every single game you can rewatch online. Find a team that plays in that formation really well and just keep noticing how they play and how they operate. For wingbacks/fullbacks Liverpool is a great team to watch. Hope this helps a bit
@@jiwonchoi5934 Thanks a lot bro. I appreciate that!
im convinced Tulsa is the best place to find natural drills
What's the song when you start doing the cone weave?!
