Dinah was absolutely ageless - and a very gifted singer, whom I don't think ever got her full due/recognition which she deserved. Ella Fitzgerald was, of course, one of the most (if not the most!) talented lady singers ever. Dinah, was a "leap-year" baby (born 29 February 1916) and was amazingly, 47 years-old here. The great Ella was actually younger than Dinah - born on 25 April 1917. Thank you for the wonderful post!
I just loved both these ladies!!!!! I use to wait for Dinah Shore to sing in her show she was amazing. Ella Fitzgerald was just incredible! I always heard her voice I. Our home. My dad loved them both too! He could sing 🎶 and was so talented!
Dinah Shore is so underrated as a jazzy blues singer through the forties, fifties and sixties. Too bad she is only remembered by many as a talk show host and champion of women's golf both of which were also worthy accomplishments. Here you can see how good she was and thrilled to sing with her idol Ella Fitzgerald who she matched with quite well and that's hard to do. Thanks for posting this.
It isn't that Dinah is necessarily "underrated", but that as a singer she is largely forgotten. She had a very long career, but she was a tv host for longer than she was a charting singer, so most of what people remember, if they remember her at all, is her television work. As a singer, she wasn't particularly extraordinary amongst the other girl singers of her era. There were so many, and other singers who had longer lasting musical success like Peggy Lee, Doris Day and Jo Stafford musically eclipsed her.
I believe these two ladies are Ms. Doris Day’s favorite singers. Doris is probably honored to have these two wonderful singers cover her great song, Sentimental Journey. Such class.
Two wonderful singers ,given the racial problems, that existed at the time and unfortunately still exist that these two talented people at the very least appreciated each other as we should.
Yes, Ella is a giant in the world of music for all time. Amen. But me, I just can't stop looking at Dinah. I simply can't get over just what an incredibly lovely lady she is in all settings...You just can't help but love her, Ms. Dinah Shore.
Yes Dinah's (enhanced appearance -- she wasn't all that much to look at earlier on) most likely was a draw to Ella (who disliked her own physical person). And so they got along FABULOUSLY, which is so very well reflected in this video. Also, it was said that Dinah had some blackness in her ancestry, which may very well be -- and didn't most of us?
@@patrickryan1515 Dinah's parents are from Russia (wikipedia): Frances "Fanny" Rose Shore was born on February 29, 1916, to Russian-Jewish immigrant shopkeepers, Anna (née Stein) and Solomon Shore, in Winchester, Tennessee.
I love their duets!! Beautiful!❤
Thanks for posting! A real gem.
That goes on for 7 solid minutes and both of them are totally on top of every second of it.
2 great singing icons of the 50s
May they both rest in peace .

I think Shores sense of rhythm and time is superior to any of her white contemporaries.
Ella loved Dinah too. In fact, Ella had a large, signed photograph of Dinah hanging in her sitting room.
❤❤❤❤love the singing
Ella and Dinah are two of the best singers ever. For me, this music will live forever.

My god that was good, it just kept going with perfection, two very gifted performers, you just don't see talent like this anymore.
Amazing!!

This is sooooo .POWERFUL. BEAUTIFULLY SOUL STIRRING.
All I can say is awesome !!!!!!
Absolutely classic 👌

The fact that Ella Fitzgerald was Frank Sinatra's favorite singer is the only endorsement she will ever need.

@@gwenjones8 Could have been just a made-up rumor; heard it ages ago. But I did know she was Jewish.
I never missed a show. The first album I bought with my own money was Dinah’s Love Songs.
ridiculously FANTASTIC!!!!!
They were the greatest.
Wow. Legends. Together.
ジララルド❤❤❤❤❤❤ジワーズ❤

Wow... two divas really letting it all out...
Fenomenales.
So fucking amazing 🤗

The theme song of the movie. The movie was great.
Divine... meravigliose ... splendide... stupende!
Yassssss Ella
Beautiful 2 Africa American women singing PerfectO Bravo
Ms. Shore was Jewish...
As much as I would love Dinah Shore to be black, she’s Ashkenazi Jew by way of Tennessee. That’s been debunked ages ago.
I can sure see here what Burt Reynolds saw!!
thats right
She got better looking as she aged and she was a real Angel.
Even though Ns Shore was old enough to be his much much older sister or mother
Does anyone know the names of all of the songs, other than Sentimental Journey?
Janet Williams Far Away Places and Moving On
