- Las Vegas is the land of the all-you-can-eat buffet. In the second installment of the MUNCHIES Guide to Vegas, we explore how one of the city’s top buffets produces vast quantities of high-quality food that keep locals and tourists coming back for seconds, and then go where few have gone before to see what happens to everything left on the plate. The answer will definitely surprise (and disgust) you.
Host Braydon Szafranski follows the trail of excess from the all-you-can-eat buffet at an off-the-strip favorite, the Feast Buffet at Red Rock Casino, to RC Farms in North Las Vegas, where food scraps are turned into slop and fed to Bob Combs’ herd of hungry piggies. The guys at Rollin Smoke BBQ take over from there, and produce the most mouth-watering BBQ west of, well, anywhere.

the sushi dude. Chefs saying everything's made fresh yet there's 3-4 day pre-made old sushi in a cooler. Best thing to do is ask them when their fish shipments come in. If its on a monday then dont eat sushi on sunday. Week old sushi no bueno. But you know its like that at every sushi shop except for the pre-made part

Braydon is the shit. I used to skate with him when he lived in Hollywood. He's no college graduate but he's super humble and is nice to literally every person he meets.
Funny thing is, with his career he's probably seen way more of the world than anyone watching these videos.
When I lived in Vegas 9 years back my favorite buffet was the Rios carnival world buffet. With the local discount it was only 14 for dinner and was always top quality with crab legs and prime rib every night! I can't wait to move back to vegas next month!
With all that food it's amazing the USA doesn't have an obesity problem.

I really liked the guy who presented this, he seem's quite clear and true through all his social interactions beyond the fact that all of that was filmed and well organised.

I grew up in north las vegas, that pig farm they went to was no more than 5 miles away from where i grew up. The smell that pig farm made, you can smell for MILES. my high school, Mojave High School. Is probably about 1-2 miles away from that place, i remember getting off the school bus in the morning and all you smell is that pig farm. for whatever reason i have very fond memories of it. There are literally HOUSES just across the street from that pig farm. why anyone wants to live near it is beyond me, but people do. If i remember right the city was trying for a very very long time, (after the death of the original owner) to buy up that land to get rid of it. RC farms just never bought into it and its still here to this day. When this farm was built it was way out in the middle of no where. to put it into perspective , North las vegas wasnt really built up past that farm until about 2006, around the time of the housing boom. in fact, if you google maps this pig farm, you will find nothing but houses all around the farm. some schools, and some groceries. as a consequence to the housing boom in north las vegas, everyone that lives there, doesnt really work in north las vegas. mainly because there is nothing but minimum wage jobs ( grocery, retail, fast food, pubs ) located there. Interesting tid bit, north las vegas has a pretty high homicide rate, las vegas also has one of the worst education systems in the country here. high drop out rate.

Honestly, that sad buffet sums up what I don't like about my country (USA), and specifically, why a lot of the Southwest and Midwest freaks me out. That's so bleak, I'm going to need to watch Anthony Bourdain go to some Mediterranean country just to cheer me back up lol

Peytonsbeard Sorry dude but that's not how you brine meat. And that is definitely fish not wood chips LOL. In industrial kitchens you defrost meat fast by running it under cold water. A brine would sit in a fridge for several hours and some times even weeks.

I think people should order some smaller portions because it is absurd how much food is send back in restaurants. And also restaurants shouldn't put all the extra garniture (the stuff they put on the plate to let the food looking nicer like slices of lemon etc) . The people are not eating that anyway.
the feast buffet at red rock isn't that great locals like myself hit it because of the price if you want to eat some amazing buffet food hit the wicked spoon at Cosmo or the baccanal at ceasars amazing

Ugh the waste afterwards is why I can't stand buffets. Combining random as fuck elements on a plate, eat until you are insanely full then in most cases throw half of it away. It's good that the pig farm is able to reuse the waste in this case, but it's a pretty sad state of affairs. Favourite part of the episode though, Rolling Smoke BBQ. I'm from Australia and this is the one thing I have to experience when I make it to the US. You dudes know how to fucking cook dat meat!

it's pretty impressive that this huge buffet, all the food are made from scratch. not just like some hotel buffet or other buffet that mostly use package ready made food where they just toss them together and put it on a plate. that's why i dont like working in a hotel kitchen.
